So, necessity of concurrency improvement among transactions is increasing. In general database management system, many techniques have been studied to solve concurrency problem of transaction. Among them, multi version algorithm does to minimize interference among transactions. However, to apply existent multi version algorithm to improve concurrency of transaction to spatial database management system, the waste of storage happens because it must store entire version for spatial record even if only aspatial data of spatial record is changed. This paper has proposed the record management techniques to manage separating aspatial data version and spatial data version to decrease waste of storage for record version and improve concurrency among transactions.展开更多

M...Mining sector in Indonesia faces many challenges including needed to support national economy, compliance to central and local government regulations, local community empowerment and environmental impact management. Mining companies are mandatory to perform the environmental management efforts to minimize the negative impact to the environment and pursue sustainability of post-mining land use and as much as possible to restore land to the initial conditions. There are many challenges on management multi parameter and multi temporal spatial data of environmental management. The aim of this research is to design the GIS database template for environmental management in Indonesia’s mining operation. This GIS database is designed using ArcCatalog ArcGIS 9.3 software, through following steps: inventory and assessment government regulations, inventory and assessment environmental quality standards, sorting and grouping parameters, design feature class and attribute, create GIS database, create GIS database dictionary. According to research result, GIS database template has many advantages for environmental management include integrated into a single database, avoid redundancy data, reduce volume data, uniformity data, easy to find and track data, integrated spatial and attribute data, can be used as an input for GIS analysis for decision-making and development strategies.展开更多

This paper presents a cadastral spatial data storage structure based on relational database,the method and the procedure to realize it.The paper consists of three parts.In the first part,some existing problems in some...This paper presents a cadastral spatial data storage structure based on relational database,the method and the procedure to realize it.The paper consists of three parts.In the first part,some existing problems in some developed cadastral management systems are discussed.These problems are the following four.1) The security of cadastral spatial data is difficult to be assured.2) It is difficult to varify cadastral data and the integrality of cadastral data is difficult to be kept.3) To transmit and share cadastral data is difficult.4) The efficiency of data access is low.In the second part,the feasibility of using relational database to store spatial data is analyzed and a new cadastral spatial data storage structure is presented.At the same time,the related table structures and field descriptions are given,and then the merits and demerits of this storage structure are analyzed in detail.In the last part,through a real example,the detailed methods to make the new storage structure a reality are given.Moreover,some involving key techniques of the new storage structure are discussed.These techniques are:1) the application of database transaction,2) the application of database trigger,3) and the application of secure recovery of database.展开更多
Based on the relationship among the geographic events, spatial changes and the database operations, a new automatic (semi-automatic) incremental updating approach of spatio-temporal database (STDB) named as (event-bas...Based on the relationship among the geographic events, spatial changes and the database operations, a new automatic (semi-automatic) incremental updating approach of spatio-temporal database (STDB) named as (event-based) incremental updating (E-BIU) is proposed in this paper. At first, the relationship among the events, spatial changes and the database operations is analyzed, then a total architecture of E-BIU implementation is designed, which includes an event queue, three managers and two sets of rules, each component is presented in detail. The process of the E-BIU of master STDB is described successively. An example of building’s incremental updating is given to illustrate this approach at the end. The result shows that E-BIU is an efficient automatic updating approach for master STDB.展开更多

And we introduced a increment storage and dynamic version views building method to improve efficiency of storing and consulting. We also illuminate how to resolve the problem of long transaction concurrency control in spatial database by using multi version mechanism.
