The protocol we proposed can interoperate different monitoring and controlling systems constructed by different companies, each with different functions and communication protocols. The protocol reduces the amount of traffic and has real-time and high-perfor-mance advantages. The protocol was implemented in CMCS for telecommunication power supply and air-condi-tioner used by the Telecommunication Bureau of Zhejiang Province. This paper deals with the hierarchical architecture and function of CMCS and packet format, command ID, and SDL description of its protocol. We also discuss the properties of the interoperability and performance of the protocol in this paper.展开更多

This paper proposes a case study concerning the application of a novel event management architecture, called EMH^2, to a fleet of trains. This EMH^2 architecture, which applies the holonic paradigm, aims to facilitate the monitoring and diagnosis of a fleet of mobile systems. It is based on a recursive decomposition of cooperative monitoring holons. The definition of a generic event modeling, called SurfEvent, is the second key element of the contribution. EMH^2 has been designed to be applicable to any kind of system or equipment up to fleet level. The edge computing paradigm has been adopted for implementation purpose. The EMH^2 architecture is designed to facilitate asynchronous and progressive onboard and off-board deployments. A real-world application of EMH^2 to a fleet of ten trains cur-rently in use, in collaboration with our industrial partner, Bombardier Transport, is presented. Three key perfor-mances indicators have been estimated by comparing EMH^2 with the current industrial situation. These indi-cators are (1) the number of fleet maintenance visits,(2) the time needed by a maintenance operator to investigate and diagnose, and (3) the time needed by the system to update data regarding the health status and monitoring of trains. Results obtained outperformed industrial expecta-tions. The paper finally discusses feedbacks from experi-ence and limitations of the work.展开更多

In this work, a user-friendly home energy monitoring system based on IoT is described, which is capable of collecting, analyzing, and displaying data. Users register their sensors and devices on the monitoring platform. PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch databases are used to store the resulting measurements. In a smart home, the wireless sensor ACS712 was used to monitor the flow of electricity (current and voltage) for a household device. The user can share data about electricity consumption and costs with a third party via the private IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) network. A third party can download all the energy consumption data for a device or many devices from the platform for 1 day, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. The studies on the development of energy-efficient technology for home devices benefit greatly from the gathered data. For security in the system, it is preferred to run Keyrock Idm, Wilma Pep Proxy, and Orion Context Broker in HTTPS mode, and MQTTS is used to retrieve sensor data. The experimental results showed that the energy monitoring system accurately records voltage, current, active power, and the total amount of power used and offers low-cost solutions to the users using household devices in a day.展开更多

An integration architecture centered on EPMCS was presented, in which there were fourlayers to connect from EPMCS to EPRA: EPMCS, application integration layer, transport layer andEPRA, and there were four layers used to etstablish integration: presentation layer, function layer, data layer and system layer. The frameworks to connect EPMCS and EPRA were designed, thatEnterprise-Independent Model (EIM), Enterprise-Specific Model (ESM) and meta-model to describe thesetwo models were defined. The method to integrate data based on XML was designed to exchange datafrom EPMCS to EPRA according to the mapping between EIM and ESM. The approches are suitable forintegrating EPMCS and systems in Product Data Management (PDM), project management and enterprisebusiness management.展开更多

A non-intrusive solution based on axis2 is presented to overcome the difficulty of the information retrieval in web service testing. It can be plugged in server side or client side freely to test pre-deployed or deployed web services.
