In the following years we published four papers related to “big killers” (cardiac and oncology) that showed some differences in birth months distribution of this group and studied by LA, NS Gavrilov’s centenarians. The aim of this study was to study conception and birth months of another modern “big killer”—cerebral stroke (CVA) that is taking a leading role among cardiovascular causes of death in the last decades. Methods: 130,120 deaths of both gender CVA victims in Lithuania at 1989-2013 were studied. In addition to birth month, the months of conception (9 months before birth) were studied. Our data were compared with results of centenarians (birth of LA, NS Gavrilov’s study and transformed by authors also their conception month). Results: The maximum of births were January, March and May for CVA victims, while the analogical conception maximum were in April, June, May and July. The similar data for centenarians were that maximal births were in November, September, October (LA, NS Gavrilov) and conception in December, January, February. These results are similar to data related to cardiac and oncology deaths published in our previous publications. Conclusion: The conception and birth month of victims of CVA is different of similar data obtained by centenarians study. Different environmental conditions at different parts of the year and solar cycle can play a role affecting the embryo at early stages of development, predisposing to some pathologies in coming years of life.展开更多

Domde (1915) formula based on frozen soil strength has widely been used ...Artificially ground freezing (AGF) is one of the main methods to establish temporary support for shaft sinking in unstable water bearing strata. Domde (1915) formula based on frozen soil strength has widely been used for designing freezing wall thickness. However, it can not ensure the stability of freezing wall, nor guarantee the safety of shaft construction as frozen depth increases in unstable water bearing strata. F A. Auld (1985, 1988)[1,2] presented a design method of freezing wall, which is on the basis of strength and stability, together with deformation of freezing wall. This paper, according to the practice in China, describes a "time -space" related design method for deep freezing wall. The method is based on "time-space" concept, which includes influence of excavation rate of advance, unsupported length of freezing wall and the sump state on inward deformation of freezing wall, and the allowable pipe deformation caused by inward deformation of freezing wall. Finally, successful application of this method to the large scale coal mine-Jining No. 2 Mine[3] in Shandong Province of China is presented. It saved much investment compared with F. A. This risky situation calls for a new security concept, one that transcends traditional state centrism, national supremacy and coercion. The new security concept, which should assimilate the general theory of grand strategy,focuses on a vision that spans time and space, valuing humankind as it exists as one of the dynamic factors of nature and society. The essentials of the new security concept are to recognize balanced development as the substance of security and to govern national strength and the application of means and tactics. It aims at realizing comprehensive security across various social fields within states, to achieve mutual security among national, international and individual actors, as well as harmony between man and nature, continuous security leading to lasting and universal peace in the future.展开更多
