The unknown time-varying delay uncer- tainties are compensated for using appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals in the design. The approach removes the assumption of linear function outside the deadband without necessarily constructing a dead-zone inverse as an added contribution. By utilizing the integral-type Lyapunov function and introducing an adaptive compensation term for the upper bound of the residual and optimal approximation error as well as the dead-zone disturbance, the closed-loop control system is proved to be semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded. In addition, a modified adaptive control algorithm is given in order to avoid the high-frequency chattering phenomenon. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.展开更多

The method of moving asymptotes(MMA) is employed as optimizer. The numerical example is simulated to show that the optimal mechanism based on geometrically nonlinear formulation not only has more flexibility and stiffness than that based on linear formulation, but also has better stress distribution than the one.It is necessary to design compliant mechanisms using geometrically nonlinear topology optimization.Compared with linear formulation, the formulation for geometrically nonlinear topology optimization of compliant mechanisms can give the compliant mechanism that has better mechanical performance.A new method is provided for topological design of large displacement compliant mechanisms.展开更多

A fully nonlinear numerical model is developed by using a higher-order boundary element method (HOBEM). In this model, the instantaneous body position and the transient free surface are updated at each time step. A Lagrangian technique is employed as the time marching scheme on the free surface. The mesh regridding and interpolation methods are adopted to deal with the possible numerical instability. Several auxiliary functions are proposed to calculate the wave loads indirectly, instead of directly predicting the temporal derivative of the velocity potential. Numerical experiments are carried out to simulate the heave motions of a submerged sphere in infinite water depth, the heave and pitch motions of a truncated flared cylinder in finite depth. The results are verified against the published numerical results to ensure the effectiveness of the proposed model. Moreover, a series of higher harmonic waves and force components are obtained by the Fourier transformation to investigate the nonlinear effect of oscillation frequency. The difference among fully nonlinear, body-nonlinear and linear results is analyzed. It is found that the nonlinearity due to free surface and body surface has significant influences on the numerical results of the radiated waves and forces.展开更多

The difference between the temperature advections (determined by subtracting those of the linearized model from those of the nonlinear model), referred to here as the nonlinearly induced temperature advection change (NTA), is analyzed. The results demonstrate that the NTA records warming in the central equatorial Pacific during CP E1 Nino and makes fewer contributions to the structural distinctions of the CP E1 Nino, whereas it records warming in the eastern equatorial Pacific during EP E1 Nino, and thus significantly promotes EP E1 Nino during E1 Nino-type selection. The NTA for CP and EP E1 Nino varies in its amplitude, and is smaller in CP E1 Nino than it is in EP E1 Nino. These results demonstrate that CP E1 Nino are weakly modulated by small intensities of NTA, and may be controlled by weak nonlinearity; whereas, EP E1 Nino are significantly enhanced by large amplitudes of NTA, and are therefore likely to be modulated by relatively strong nonlinearity. These data could explain why CP E1 Nino are weaker than EP E1 Nino. Because the NTA for CP and EP E1 Nino differs in spatial structures and intensities, as well as their roles within different E1 Nino modes, the diversity of E1 Nino may be closely related to changes in the nonlinear characteristics of the tropical Pacific.展开更多

However, the nonlinearity of the off-the-shelf projectors and cameras seriously reduces the measurement accuracy. In this paper, first, we review the nonlinear effects of the projector-camera system in the phase-shifting structured light depth measurement method. We show that high order harmonic wave components lead to phase error in the phase-shifting method. Then a practical method based on frequency domain filtering is proposed for nonlinear error reduction. By using this method, the nonlinear calibration of the SL system is not required. Moreover, both the nonlinear effects of the projector and the camera can be effectively reduced. The simulations and experiments have verified our nonlinear correction method.展开更多

Results show that the joint effects of the difference of Rossby phase velocities and the dispersion of typhoon energy keep the maximum wind velocity reasonably evolving rather than irrestrictively increasing. On the one hand, the nonlinear advection accelerates typhoon vortex damping, and on the other, the high pressure system formed downstream due to energy dispersion makes it easy to maintain.展开更多

It is found that the nonlinearity due to free surface and body surface has significant influences on the numerical results of the radiated waves and forces.

文摘The nonlinear dynamical behaviors of artificial neural network (ANN) and their application to science and engineering were summarized. The mechanism of two kinds of dynamical processes, i.e. weight dynamics and activation dynamics in neural networks, and the stability of computing in structural analysis and design were stated briefly. It was successfully applied to nonlinear neural network to evaluate the stability of underground stope structure in a gold mine. With the application of BP network, it is proven that the neuro-com- puting is a practical and advanced tool for solving large-scale underground rock engineering problems.

文摘A new variable structure control algorithm based on sliding mode prediction for a class of discrete-time nonlinear systems is presented. By employing a special model to predict future sliding mode value, and combining feedback correction and receding horizon optimization methods which are extensively applied on predictive control strategy, a discrete-time variable structure control law is constructed. The closed-loop systems are proved to have robustness to uncertainties with unspecified boundaries. Numerical simulation and pendulum experiment results illustrate that the closed-loop systems possess desired performance, such as strong robustness, fast convergence and chattering elimination.
文摘This paper compares data from linearized and nonlinear Zebiak-Cane model, as constrained by observed sea surface temperature anomaly (SSTA), in simulating central Pacific (CP) and eastern Pacific (EP) E1 Nino. Because the NTA for CP and EP E1 Nino differs in spatial structures and intensities, as well as their roles within different E1 Nino modes, the diversity of E1 Nino may be closely related to changes in the nonlinear characteristics of the tropical Pacific.

文摘Digital structured light (SL) profilometry is increasingly used in three-dimensional (3D) measurement technology. The simulations and experiments have verified our nonlinear correction method.
文摘A novel tolane 4-methoxy-4'-nitro-diphenyl-acetylene (MONA) has been prepared quantitatively by reacting cuprous p-methoxy phenyl-acetylene with p-iodonitrobenzene. A single crystal of the Moan was grown by solution growth method. The crystal was then characterized by X-ray diffraction structure analysis and second-harmonic generation(SHG)investigation. Polymorphous crystal forms of the MONA were grown from different solvents having different nonlinear optical properties depending on their different crystal structures. The relationship between the crystal growth and crystal structure is discusse.
文摘A new nonlinear variable structure excitation controller is proposed. Its design combines the differential geometry theory and the variable structure controlling theory. The mathematical model in the form of "an affme nonlinear system" is set up for the control of a large-scale power system. The static and dynamic performances of the nonlinear variable structure controller are simulated. The response of system with the controller proposed is compared to that of the nonlinear optimal controller when the system is subjected to a variety of disturbances. Simulation results show that the nonlinear variable structure excitation controller gives more satisfactorily static and dynamic performance and better robustness.

文摘The effects of the Beta term on the typhoon structure are examined within the linear framework in terms of an analytical method of 2-D Fourier representation and numerical experiments by a Beta-plane quasi-geostrophic barotropic model. Results show that the joint effects of the difference of Rossby phase velocities and the dispersion of typhoon energy keep the maximum wind velocity reasonably evolving rather than irrestrictively increasing. On the one hand, the nonlinear advection accelerates typhoon vortex damping, and on the other, the high pressure system formed downstream due to energy dispersion makes it easy to maintain.
文摘The interest in tailoring light in all its degrees of freedom is steadily gaining traction, driven by the tremendous developments in the toolkit for the creation, control and detection of what is now called structured light.Because the complexity of these optical fields is generally understood in terms of interference, the tools have historically been linear optical elements that create the desired superpositions. For this reason, despite the long and impressive history of nonlinear optics, only recently has the spatial structure of light in nonlinear processes come to the fore.In this review we provide a concise theoretical framework for understanding nonlinear optics in the context of structured light, offering an overview and perspective on the progress made, and the challenges that remain.
