In this study, a hybrid model based on oxygen balance mechanism (OBM) and deep neural network (DNN) was established for predicting oxygen blowing time in converter. A three-step method was utilized in the hybrid model. First, the oxygen consumption volume was predicted by the OBM model and DNN model, respectively. Second, a more accurate oxygen consumption volume was obtained by integrating the OBM model and DNN model. Finally, the converter oxygen blowing time was calculated according to the oxygen consumption volume and the oxygen supply intensity of each heat. The proposed hybrid model was verified using the actual data collected from an integrated steel plant in China, and compared with multiple linear regression model, OBM model, and neural network model including extreme learning machine, back propagation neural network, and DNN. The test results indicate that the hybrid model with a network structure of 3 hidden layer layers, 32-16-8 neurons per hidden layer, and 0.1 learning rate has the best prediction accuracy and stronger generalization ability compared with other models. The predicted hit ratio of oxygen consumption volume within the error±300 m^(3)is 96.67%;determination coefficient (R^(2)) and root mean square error (RMSE) are0.6984 and 150.03 m^(3), respectively. The oxygen blow time prediction hit ratio within the error±0.6 min is 89.50%;R2and RMSE are0.9486 and 0.3592 min, respectively. As a result, the proposed model can effectively predict the oxygen consumption volume and oxygen blowing time in the converter.展开更多

This is referred to as thermodynamic consistency of the mathematical models. Thermodynamic consistency ensures thermodynamic equilibrium during the evolution of the deformation. When the mathematical models are thermodynamically consistent, the second law of thermodynamics facilitates consistent derivations of constitutive theories in the presence of dissipation and memory mechanisms. This is the main motivation for the work presented in this paper. In the currently used mathematical models for plates/shells based on the assumed kinematic relations, energy functional is constructed over the volume consisting of kinetic energy, strain energy and the potential energy of the loads. The Euler’s equations derived from the first variation of the energy functional for arbitrary length when set to zero yield the mathematical model(s) for the deforming plates/shells. Alternatively, principle of virtual work can also be used to derive the same mathematical model(s). For linear elastic reversible deformation physics with small deformation and small strain, these two approaches, based on energy functional and the principle of virtual work, yield the same mathematical models. These mathematical models hold for reversible mechanical deformation. In this paper, we examine whether the currently used plate/shell mathematical models with the corresponding kinematic assumptions can be derived using the conservation and balance laws of classical or non-classical continuum mechanics. The mathematical models based on Kirchhoff hypothesis (classical plate theory, CPT) and first order shear deformation theory (FSDT) that are representative of most mathematical models for plates/shells are investigated in this paper for their thermodynamic consistency. This is followed by the details of a general and higher order thermodynamically consistent plate/shell thermoelastic mathematical model that is free of a priori consideration of kinematic assumptions and remains valid for very thin as well as thick plates/shells with comprehensive nonlinear constitutive theories based on integrity. Model problem studies are presented for small deformation behavior of linear elastic plates in the absence of thermal effects and the results are compared with CPT and FSDT mathematical models.展开更多

These processes are quite different from the characteristics of landslides and rockfalls under general gravitational force, and presently human knowledge is very poor in this field. In order to describe the special dynamic processes, some terms such as shattering-cracking, shattering-sliding, shattering-falls and ejection are defined in this paper. Combined with slope structures, a mechanism classification system of strong earthquake-triggered landslide and rockfall is suggested, which is divided into 5 categories and 14 types. This paper also analyzes the basic characteristics, dynamic processes and geo-mechanics conceptual models of some typologies, especial the type of shattering-sliding for most large-scales landsides. This paper initially reveals the formation mechanism, geo-mechanics models and dynamic features of landslides and rockfalls triggered by the great Wenchuan Earthquake.展开更多

The influence factors including supporting pressure, dip angle and characteristic of coal on horizontal section height were analyzed as well. By terms of the practice project analysis, the horizontal section height increases with the increase of dip angle β and thickness of coal seam M. Dip angle of coal seam β has tremendous impact on horizontal section height, while thickness of coal seam M has slight impact. When thickness of coal seam is below 10m, horizontal section height increases sharply. While thickness exceeds 15m, it is not major factor influencing on horizontal section height any long.展开更多

文摘To investigate the specific creep behavior of ultra-deep buried salt during oil and gas exploitation,a set of triaxial creep experiments was conducted at elevated temperatures with constant axial pressure and unloading confining pressure conditions.Experimental results show that the salt sample deforms more significantly with the increase of applied temperature and deviatoric loading. The accelerated creep phase is not occurring until the applied temperature reaches 130℃,and higher temperature is beneficial to the occurrence of accelerated creep. To describe the specific creep behavior,a novel three-dimensional(3D)creep constitutive model is developed that incorporates the thermal and mechanical variables into mechanical elements.Subsequently, the standard particle swarm optimization(SPSO)method is adopted to fit the experimental data, and the sensibility of key model parameters is analyzed to further illustrate the model function. As a result, the model can accurately predict the creep behavior of salt under the coupled thermo-mechanical effect in deep-buried condition.Based on the research results, the creep mechanical behavior of wellbore shrinkage is predicted in deep drilling projects crossing salt layer, which has practical implications for deep rock mechanics problems.

文摘In order to better understand the specific substituent effects on the electrochemical oxidation process of β-O-4 bond, a series of methoxyphenyl type β-O-4 dimer model compounds with different localized methoxyl groups, including 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1-phenylethanone, 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1-phenylethanol, 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanone, 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanol, 2-(2,6-dimethoxyphenoxy)-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanone, 2-(2,6-dimethoxyphenoxy)-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanol have been selected and their electrochemical properties have been studied experimentally by cyclic voltammetry, and FT-IR spectroelectrochemistry. Combining with electrolysis products distribution analysis and density functional theory calculations, oxidation mechanisms of all six model dimers have been explored. In particular, a total effect from substituents of both para-methoxy(on the aryl ring closing to Cα) and Cα-OH on the oxidation mechanisms has been clearly observed, showing a significant selectivity on the Cα-Cβbond cleavage induced by electrochemical oxidations.

文摘Catastrophic geological disasters frequently occur on slopes with obliquely inclined bedding structures(also referred to as obliquely inclined bedding slopes),where the apparent dip sliding is not readily visible. This phenomenon has become a focal point in landslide research.Yet,there is a lack of studies on the failure modes and mechanisms of hidden, steep obliquely inclined bedding slopes. This study investigated the Shanyang landslide in Shaanxi Province,China.Using field investigations, laboratory tests of geotechnical parameters, and the 3DEC software, this study developed a numerical model of the landslide to analyze the failure process of such slopes. The findings indicate that the Shanyang landslide primarily crept along a weak interlayer under the action of gravity. The landslide, initially following a dip angle with the support of a stable inclined rock mass, shifted direction under the influence of argillization in the weak interlayer, moving towards the apparent dip angle. The slide resistance effect of the karstic dissolution zone was increasingly significant during this process, with lateral friction being the primary resistance force.A reduction in the lateral friction due to karstic dissolution made the apparent dip sliding characteristics of the Shanyang landslide more pronounced.Notably, deformations such as bending and uplift at the slope’s foot suggest that the main slide resistance shifts from lateral friction within the karstic dissolution zone to the slope foot’s resistance force, leading to the eventual buckling failure of the landslide. This study unveils a novel failure mode of apparent dip creep-buckling in the Shanyang landslide, highlighting the critical role of lateral friction from the karstic dissolution zone in its failure mechanism. These insights offer a valuable reference for mitigating risks and preventing disasters related to obliquely inclined bedding landslides.

文摘The amount of oxygen blown into the converter is one of the key parameters for the control of the converter blowing process, which directly affects the tap-to-tap time of converter. As a result, the proposed model can effectively predict the oxygen consumption volume and oxygen blowing time in the converter.

文摘Surface defects, including dents, spalls, and cracks, for rolling element bearings are the most common faults in rotating machinery. The accurate model for the time-varying excitation is the basis for the vibration mechanism analysis and fault feature extraction. However,in conventional investigations, this issue is not well and fully addressed from the perspective of theoretical analysis and physical derivation. In this study,an improved analytical model for time-varying displacement excitations(TVDEs)caused by surface defects is theoretically formulated.First and foremost, the physical mechanism for the effect of defect sizes on the physical process of rolling element-defect interaction is revealed.According to the physical interaction mechanism between the rolling element and different types of defects, the relationship between time-varying displacement pulse and defect sizes is further analytically derived. With the obtained time-varying displacement pulse, the dynamic model for the deep groove bearings considering the internal excitation caused by the surface defect is established. The nonlinear vibration responses and fault features induced by surface defects are analyzed using the proposed TVDE model. The results suggest that the presence of surface defects may result in the occurrence of the dual-impulse phenomenon, which can serve as indexes for surface-defect fault diagnosis.

文摘Inclusion of dissipation and memory mechanisms, non-classical elasticity and thermal effects in the currently used plate/shell mathematical models require that we establish if these mathematical models can be derived using the conservation and balance laws of continuum mechanics in conjunction with the corresponding kinematic assumptions. Model problem studies are presented for small deformation behavior of linear elastic plates in the absence of thermal effects and the results are compared with CPT and FSDT mathematical models.

文摘Due to the extremely high magnitude, long duration, and the complicated geo-environment in the disaster area, the great 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake not only produced a huge number of landslides and rockfalls, but also involved complicated dynamic processes. This paper initially reveals the formation mechanism, geo-mechanics models and dynamic features of landslides and rockfalls triggered by the great Wenchuan Earthquake.

文摘Damage statistical mechanics model of horizontal section height in the top caving was constructed in the paper. While thickness exceeds 15m, it is not major factor influencing on horizontal section height any long.

文摘Cell mechanics is essential to cell development and function, and its dynamics evolution reflects the physiological state of cells. Here,we investigate the dynamical mechanical properties of single cells under various drug conditions, and present two mathematical approaches to quantitatively characterizing the cell physiological state. It is demonstrated that the cellular mechanical properties upon the drug action increase over time and tend to saturate, and can be mathematically characterized by a linear timeinvariant dynamical model. It is shown that the transition matrices of dynamical cell systems significantly improve the classification accuracies of the cells under different drug actions.Furthermore,it is revealed that there exists a positive linear correlation between the cytoskeleton density and the cellular mechanical properties, and the physiological state of a cell in terms of its cytoskeleton density can be predicted from its mechanical properties by a linear regression model. This study builds a relationship between the cellular mechanical properties and the cellular physiological state, adding information for evaluating drug efficacy.
文摘Successful modeling and/or design of engineering systems often requires one to address the impact of multiple "design variables" on the prescribed outcome. There are often multiple, competing objectives based on which we assess the outcome of optimization.Since accurate, high fidelity models are typically time consuming and computationally expensive, comprehensive evaluations can be conducted only if an efficient framework is available.Furthermore, informed decisions of the model/hardware's overall performance rely on an adequate understanding of the global, not local, sensitivity of the individual design variables on the objectives. The surrogate-based approach, which involves approximating the objectives as continuous functions of design variables from limited data, offers a rational framework to reduce the number of important input variables,i.e.,the dimension of a design or modeling space. In this paper,we review the fundamental issues that arise in surrogate-based analysis and optimization, highlighting concepts, methods, techniques,as well as modeling implications for mechanics problems. To aid the discussions of the issues involved,we summarize recent efforts in investigating cryogenic cavitating flows, active flow control based on dielectric barrier discharge concepts, and lithium(Li)-ion batteries. It is also stressed that many multi-scale mechanics problems can naturally benefit from the surrogate approach for "scale bridging."

文摘High-precision time-varying gravity field is an effective way to study the internal mass movement and understanding the spatio-temporal evolution process of the geodynamic system.Compared to the satellite gravity measurement, the repeated terrestrial gravity observation can provide a more high-order signal related to the shallow crust and subsurface. However, the suitable and unified method for gravity model estimation is a key problem for further applications. In this study,we introduce the spherical hexahedron element to simulate the field source mass and forward model the change of gravity field located at the Sichuan-Yunnan region(99—104°E,23—29°N)in the four epochs from 2015 to 2017.Compared to the experimental results based on Slepian or spherical harmonics frequency domain method, this alternative approach is suitable for constructing the equivalent mass source model of regional-scale gravity data,by introducing the first-order smooth prior condition of gravity time-varying signal to suppress the high-frequency component of the signal. The results can provide a higher spatial resolution reference for regional gravity field modeling in the Sichuan-Yunnan region.

文摘The slope stability of Ya’an expressway in Sichuan dominated by mudstone strata,is influenced greatly by both the mechanical properties and stressstrain relationship of mudstone. In this paper, the mechanical properties of the Ya’an mudstone samples under triaxial compression conditions were studied, based on an established constitutive model under the framework of breakage mechanics to simulate the mechanical properties of mudstone.Firstly, triaxial compression tests and SEM tests at the confining pressures of 0.5 MPa,1.0 MPa,and 2.0 MPa were carried out on the mudstone samples, and it was found that the mudstone sample undergoes strain softening and dilatancy followed by the volumetric compaction. Then, based on analysis on the breakage mechanism of the above test results,we idealized the mudstone sample as a binary medium material consisting of the bonded elements and frictional elements,of which the bonded elements are composed of solid matrix and pores, and the frictional elements are composed of broken aggregates.During the loading process, the cementation between clay minerals and non-clay minerals in the mudstone sample is first destroyed, leading to the formation of micro-cracks within the particle aggregate, that is,the bonded elements are gradually damaged during the loading process and gradually turned into the frictional elements, and the two jointly bear the external load. The bonded elements are composed of mudstone matrix and pores, which have the cementitious characteristics of mudstone, and the frictional elements are composed of the broken aggregate with the frictional characteristics of the broken particles.Based on the homogenization theory, the constitutive model for the mudstone is established, and the determining method for model parameters is also given. Finally, the results of the triaxial compression tests of the mudstone samples are predicted by the constitutive model proposed here, which can reflect the main mechanical properties of the mudstone samples.
