With the strengthening of globalization and closer ties between countries,all-round exchanges and cooperation have become an inevitable trend.In the new era,the cultural exchange between China and the West presents an unprecedented depth and breadth.Chinese traditional culture,which has made great contributions to Oriental culture and even the world culture,has been developed,in the process of constant conflict,digestion,and absorption while entering other countries in the world.The inclusiveness of Chinese traditional culture has made it survive and thrive in absorbing the quintessence of foreign culture,which makes it contain new contents.In the process of Chinese and Western cultural exchanges,some parts of the essence traditional Chinese culture which are ignored should be given certain inclination in policy and guided by strengthening the education of Chinese traditional culture.

On the Impact of Western Festivals on Traditional Festivals in China and the Reform of Chinese Festivals

As China steps up its reform and opening up to the outside world,Chinese,especially the young,are becoming increasingly interested in western festivals.However,some traditional festivals in China are left out in the cold.This paper is mainly on the effect of west ern festivals on traditional festivals in China,trying to analyze the reason why it becomes this and it will lead us to face the communion and mixture between the two parties rationally.From the perspective of folk culture,it is necessary for us to find the motive of reform of Chinese traditional festivals.

Dignity:the Overlap of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Traditional Chinese Culture

Human dignity is the fundamental concept of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and serves as the theoretical backbone for the international human rights system. Chinese culture has an excellent tradition of treasuring the dignity and value of people. The provisions on dignity in the Declaration can find their historical origins in traditional Chinese culture. The dignity of people has a supreme status and value in traditional Chinese culture. Chinese "etiquette" culture has a long tradition of respecting the dignity of people.Achieving benevolence through etiquette is the basic way to protect human dignity. Etiquette in ancient China was constrained by inequality and historical limitations, but it also had the elements of respecting or honoring others, and had the practical function of respecting, maintaining and achieving human dignity. The effective implementation of etiquette requires the fulfillment of people’s basic needs. Progressing from xiao kang(moderate prosperity) to da tong(great harmony) is the process of approaching the human rights standards of human dignity and equal rights that all nations and all peoples should strive to achieve.

Cultural analysis of the management accounting application in China

Management accounting is an applied subject. As YU Xu-ying said, it not only embodies the concept of technology, also reflects the fixed concept of social culture. Viewing from the cultural point, this paper analyses the applying status quo of management accounting in China. Its main viewpoints are as follows： management accounting is originated from the West, and its appearance is built on the basis of the West thought of management, so, to a certain degree, it is influenced by the West culture. In fact, its application in China is in a new cultural circumstance so that it is certainly influenced by the Chinese culture, especially the Chinese traditional culture; thus one of the important reasons for the undesirable application of management accounting in China is the difference between the East culture and the West culture. Therefore, the special cultural factor of China should be considered in order to promote what is beneficial and to abolish what is harmful if management accounting is widely applied in China.

Efficacies of Different Methods of Teaching Transcultural Nursing Practice in China

Purpose： This study assessed the effectiveness of three teaching methods for developing cultural competency based upon Leininger＇s theoretical framework with nursing students in China： case studies, traditional didactic learning, and self-directed learning. These methods were used in tran- scultural nursing teaching practices to identify the method that resulted in the greatest improve- ments in the nursing student＇s understanding and clinical application of transcultural nursing. Methods： The Transcultural Nursing Questionnaire（TNQ） was used for pre-and post-test comparisons of all participants in four areas of cultural knowledge and the Evaluation of Transcultural Nursing Competency（ETNC） was applied via role-play to evaluate the cultural competency of 120 of the 305 participants from three general hospitals in the PuDong New District, Shanghai, China. Individual transcultural nursing courses that focused on case study, traditional didactic or self-di- rected methods persisted for four months in three hospitals. Results： Statistical analyses of the cognitive scores of the participants in the transcultural nursing courses revealed a significant difference（P〈0.01） between scores collected before and after the teaching with the three methods. Comparisons of the three hospitals revealed that the scores for transcultural nursing cognition and simulating service assessment were significantly different（P〈0.01） for the case study nursing students. The scores of the students who were taught with the traditional didactic and self-directed methods were not significantly different across the three hospitals（P〉0.05）. Conclusion： The results revealed that the case study, traditional didactic and self-directed method effectively improved the transcultural nursing cognitive levels of the nursing students. The case study method appeared to be the most effective approach based upon the TNQ pre-and post-tests and the ETNC cultural competency scores.

Chinese Traditional Culture Education:Implementing the Child's Position and Perspective in the Elementary Schooi Textbook Morality and Law

Purpose:Failure to clarify the position of children in Chinese culture is a significant issue faced by Chinese traditional culture education(CTCE).Indeed,moral education needs to establish child's perspective and position in Chinese society and incorporate these into the curricula on the excellent Chinese traditional culture.This study explores how the elementary school textbook,Morality and Law,has approached CTCE.Design/Approach/Methods:First,this article analyzes practical dificulties in CTCE:omission child's position.Second,this article explores the child's position needed by CTCE based on Rousseau,Montessori,and Dewey's contemporary views on children.At last,this article explores the strategyof how to implement the child's position in CTCE based on Morality and Law.Findings:In respect to CTCE,Morality and Law positions children in various ways.In terms of its educational goal,the textbook is intended to improve children's cultural education and appreciation.While the textbook's editors mainly select positive content,negative content is also included.Always taking the child into consideration,the textbook incorporates systemized knowledge into children's own lives,particularly insofar as the teaching strategy uses events or experiences in which children are interested.

Cultural Practices for Propagation of Spatholobus suberectus via Cutting into Polybags

In this paper,the propagation of Spatholobus suberectus Dunn.was optimized based on the research results conducted in propagation for many years and the actual need for the planting materials.According to the requirements of Good Agricultural Practices for Chinese Medicinal Drugs,cultural practices for propagation of S.suberectus were summed up and standardized,including the environmental requirements,land preparation,bed preparation,cutting of scions,cuttings treatment,cutting,management of cuttings at the nursery,bagged cuttings ready for transplanting,packing and handling,transportation,and preparation of records for archives.
