Purpose: This scoping review aimed to map the existing literature related to recent institution-provided educational programs for invasive procedures involving clinical nurses. This study seeks to understand the contents of educational programs and the methods for assessing educational effects. Methods: This scoping review was completed using the following four databases: PubMed (MEDLINE), Embase, Cochrane Library, and Emcare for the period 2000-2022. We included studies that used all forms of educational approaches (e.g., didactic lectures, hands-on training, or on-the-job training). This scoping review considered peer-reviewed publications published in English using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed approaches. A total of 83 studies underwent in the final analysis. Results and Conclusion: A combination of didactic lectures and hands-on training was provided as an educational program in most studies. Contrary to our prediction, educational interventions with advanced technologies such as VR are extremely rare, suggesting that the effectiveness of advanced technologies in learning invasive procedures should be examined to facilitate and retain educational effects more efficiently in future studies. Regarding the assessment of educational effects, nurses’ cognitive (i.e., theoretical knowledge about procedures), psychomotor (i.e., implementing procedures), and psychological aspects (e.g., confidence and self-efficacy in procedures) were evaluated using questionnaires and observational methods. While most studies used a one-group pretest-posttest design, the ratio of randomized controlled trials (RCT) was relatively low. Thus, an RCT design should be introduced in future studies to test the validity of the developed educational program more accurately.展开更多

With the improvement of people’s medical awareness, people cannot meet the simple surgical treatment, and there is a great demand for nursing treatment. At the same time, the demand for efficiency and convenience of medical nursing practice teaching continues to improve, and the multi-functional medical nursing training innovation platform has been paid more and more attention. The rapid development of material technology as well as digitalization has brought about a huge change, and we have created a multifunctional, spatially efficient and easy-to-transfer information platform for medical care training. A base box, placement drawer, platform board and display are used as the base module and the base module is filled with specific functional components. Lifting and lowering using motors and spiral base, moving using universal wheels. These devices together constitute the training platform. A survey of students and teachers was conducted through a questionnaire, and they all gave very good feedback that the multi-functional platform was very practical and useful. This platform effectively solves the drawbacks of the original training platform which is time-consuming, laborious and inconvenient, and is worthy of further promotion and research.展开更多

In Japan, HIV is primarily transmitted through sexual contact between men, and free HIV testing and counseling are provided by public health nurses. However, because of a lack of education, public health nurses do not often recognize the existence of MSM in daily life. Thus, improving public health nurses’ understanding of MSM is crucial. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design to examine public health nurses’ homophobia, confidence in dealing with MSM, and low awareness of MSM in daily life at pre-test, post-test, and 1 and 3 months follow-ups. The intervention comprised a 3-hour training session conducted between November 2012 and September 2013 in the Kinki region. Results: A total of 124 public health nurses participated in the training, 117 of which were allocated to the intervention group;182 public health nurses who did not participate in the training session were allocated to a control group. Homophobia scores had significantly decreased at post-test, and remained at that low level by the follow-up at 3 months (pre-test to post-test;p = 0.00, post-test to 1 month;p = 0.83, 1 month to 3 months;p = 0.64, pre-test to 3 months;p = 0.00). Confidence in dealing with MSM and recognition of MSM had significantly increased by post-test;these were also maintained by the follow-up at 3 months (pre-test to post-test;p = 0.0, post-test to 1month;p = 0.18, 1 to 3 months;p = 0.44, pre-test to 3 months;p = 0.0). Discussion: While the three-hour training session was short, it was effective for improving attitudes toward MSM and building confidence in dealing with them.展开更多

文摘Background: Implementing invasive procedures is an important part of patient management by clinical nurses;however, there are gaps between nurses’ actual knowledge and skills and expected professional care capacity. Thus, an RCT design should be introduced in future studies to test the validity of the developed educational program more accurately.

文摘Objective: This study examined the effect of an educational intervention on public health nurses’ attitudes and confidence in dealing with men who have sex with men (MSM). Discussion: While the three-hour training session was short, it was effective for improving attitudes toward MSM and building confidence in dealing with them.
