This research supports the theory that instruction is a network of interactions between the teacher and learner that promotes a successful learning experience. It identifies a three-part learning sequence-a beginning, middle and an end. Each part has two of six key motivational factors that when applied correctly by the teacher will maximize the success and continued motivation of the learner.展开更多

It is one of the high-level cognitive functions in Consciousness And Memory model (CAM). This paper proposes a new motivation learning algorithm which allows an agent to create motivations or goals based on introspective process. The simulation of cyborg rat maze search shows that the motivation learning algorithm can adapt agents’ behavior in response to dynamic environment.展开更多

Measuring such a type of motivation has been proven to be complicated and open for debate. In this study, MUSIC Model of academic motivation developed by Jones (2009) was employed to conduct a survey on 214 third-year students of a police university after their Medical English course. Given five major components in the MUSIC Model derived from research and theory that are critical to student engagement in academic settings, including empowerment, usefulness, success, interest, and caring, the study reveals interesting results for considering the effectiveness of an ESP course. Some implications for instructors about how to engage students in a course have been also drawn out. It is believed to be practically helpful for those delivering ESP courses in non-English major universities in Vietnam.展开更多

It is to build a developmental evaluation and characteristics for the idea to the attention of the relevant confidence to meet and the evaluator' s expectations as of the five elements to stimulate learning motivation, build developmental evaluation principles to stimulate learning motivation of process model. Seven strategies are to stimulate and sustain the motivation of college students, while emphasizing mentor in the process of converting role as learner and developmental evaluation. Related strategies are used in the actual teaching of "Mechanical Engineering Materials" , "Graduation Design" , "Engineer Training" course, and it achieved satisfactory teaching effect, playing a role in promoting real learning and comprehensive evaluation of the development of college students.展开更多

Corder’s phrase, “ Given motivation, anyone can learn a language" brings out the importance of motivation and the way it can overcome unfavourable circumstances in other aspects of language learning. There have been overwhelming researches & literature on this area. However, the definition and study of motivation have not been without problem. This paper starts with a brief historical review on psychological approaches underlying motivational research, followed by the remarkable motivation theories. The third part is concerned with SL/FL motivation, which attempts to relate the findings on motivation with situation of China.展开更多

Applying this approach to a pedagogical agent is an essential part to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process of an intelligent learning system. This work focuses on the design of the inference engine that will give life to the interface, where the latter is represented by a pedagogical agent. The inference engine is based on an affective-motivational model. This model is implemented by using artificial intelligence technique called fuzzy cognitive maps.展开更多
