Traditionally, TSO mainly focuses on fault detection and isolation, but they cannot provide an effective guide for the design for testability (DFT) to improve the PHM performance level. To solve the problem, a model of TSO for PHM systems is proposed. Firstly, through integrating the characteristics of fault severity and propa- gation time, and analyzing the test timing and sensitivity, a testability model based on failure evolution mechanism model (FEMM) for PHM systems is built up. This model describes the fault evolution- test dependency using the fault-symptom parameter matrix and symptom parameter-test matrix. Secondly, a novel method of in- herent testability analysis for PHM systems is developed based on the above information. Having completed the analysis, a TSO model, whose objective is to maximize fault trackability and mini- mize the test cost, is proposed through inherent testability analysis results, and an adaptive simulated annealing genetic algorithm (ASAGA) is introduced to solve the TSO problem. Finally, a case of a centrifugal pump system is used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed models and methods. The results show that the proposed technology is important for PHM systems to select and optimize the test set in order to improve their performance level.展开更多

Sensory adaptation can play a major role in this process, because selective mating is often mediated by sexual signals: bright colours, complex song, pheromone blends and so on. Whendivergent sensory adaptation affects the perception of such signals, mating patterns may change as an immediate consequence.Alternatively, mating preferences can diverge as a result of indirect effects: assortative mating may be promoted by selectionagainst intermediate phenotypes that are maladapted to their (sensory) environment. For Lake Victoria cichlids, the visual environmentconstitutes an important selective force that is heterogeneous across geographical and water depth gradients. We investigatethe direct and indirect effects of this heterogeneity on the evolution of female preferences for alternative male nuptial colours(red and blue) in the genus Pundamilia. Here, we review the current evidence for divergent sensory drive in this system, extractgeneral principles, and discuss future perspectives [Current Zoology 56 (3): 285-299, 2010].展开更多

Data symbolization by using STSA alleviates the effects of harmful noise in raw acceleration data. The effect of the parameters in STSA is theoretically evaluated and numerically verified. AICSA is employed to minimize the error between the state sequence histogram (SSH) that is transformed from raw acceleration data by STSA. The proposed methodology is evaluated by comparing it with AICSA using raw acceleration data. AICSA combining STSA is proved to be a powerful tool for identifying unknown parameters of structural systems even when the data is contaminated with relatively large amounts of noise.展开更多

This paper uses an unsupervised corpus-based statisticalmethod to select target word. Based on the concurrence probabilities, all ambiguous words in a sentence are disambiguated at the same time. Because a corpus of limited size cannot cover all the collocation of words, we use an effectivesmoothing method to increase the coverage of the corpus. In ceder to solve the problem in our English-Chinese MT system, we have applied the algorithm to disambiguate senses of verbs, nouns and adjectitves in target language, and theresult shows that the approach is very promising.展开更多

Due to the inconsistencies in the machinery producing these signals, medical images tend to require these techniques. In real time, images do not contain a single noise, and instead they contain multiple types of noise distributions in several indistinct regions. This paper presents an image denoising method that uses Metaheuristics to perform noise identification. Adaptive block selection is used to identify and correct the noise contained in these blocks. Though the system uses a block selection scheme, modifications are performed on pixel- to-pixel basis and not on the entire blocks;hence the image accuracy is preserved. PSO is used to identify the noise distribution, and appropriate noise correction techniques are applied to denoise the images. Experiments were conducted using salt and pepper noise, Gaussian noise and a combination of both the noise in the same image. It was observed that the proposed method performed effectively on noise levels up-to 0.5 and was able to produce results with PSNR values ranging from 20 to 30 in most of the cases. Excellent reduction rates were observed on salt and pepper noise and moderate reduction rates were observed on Gaussian noise. Experimental results show that our proposed system has a wide range of applicability in any domain specific image denoising scenario, such as medical imaging, mammogram etc.展开更多

文摘CC’s(Cloud Computing)networks are distributed and dynamic as signals appear/disappear or lose significance.MLTs(Machine learning Techniques)train datasets which sometime are inadequate in terms of sample for inferring information.A dynamic strategy,DevMLOps(Development Machine Learning Operations)used in automatic selections and tunings of MLTs result in significant performance differences. But,the scheme has many disadvantages including continuity in training, more samples and training time in feature selections and increased classification execution times.RFEs(Recursive Feature Eliminations)are computationally very expensive in its operations as it traverses through each feature without considering correlations between them. This problem can be overcome by the use of Wrappers as they select better features by accounting for test and train datasets. The aim of this paper is to use DevQLMLOps for automated tuning and selections based on orchestrations and messaging between containers. The proposed AKFA(Adaptive Kernel Firefly Algorithm)is for selecting features for CNM(Cloud Network Monitoring)operations.AKFA methodology is demonstrated using CNSD(Cloud Network Security Dataset)with satisfactory results in the performance metrics like precision,recall,F-measure and accuracy used.
文摘A fundamental requirement for proper measurement of well-being in diverse contexts is the appropriate translation of well-being measures into the languages spoken by the specific population. The aim of this paper is to identify measures of well-being that have been translated into African languages up to the year 2019 and make suggestions for researchers who are faced with the challenge of translating well-being instruments into local languages.Online databases were searched to identify published studies reporting the translation of well-being instruments into African languages. Some researchers were further contacted and requested to provide relevant studies.A total of 352 publications were retrieved and 44 translated measures met the inclusion criteria.Findings showed that all the translated African language versions of existing measures were published between 2006 and 2019.Although the published translations were increasingly widespread, the distribution of available studies was uneven, with very low published translation activity in East and North Africa and a preponderance of publications on translated instruments in South Africa. The authors suggest deriving population norms for relevant translations;increasing funding and other resources for translation projects;developing cross-national collaborations on translations;and making the translated versions of well-being instruments more accessible for use by other researchers.

文摘The test selection and optimization (TSO) can improve the abilities of fault diagnosis, prognosis and health-state evalua- tion for prognostics and health management (PHM) systems. The results show that the proposed technology is important for PHM systems to select and optimize the test set in order to improve their performance level.

文摘The theory of ecological speciation suggests that assortative mating evolves most easily when mating preferences aredirectly linked to ecological traits that are subject to divergent selection. Here, we review the current evidence for divergent sensory drive in this system, extractgeneral principles, and discuss future perspectives [Current Zoology 56 (3): 285-299, 2010].
文摘The feasibility of a parameter identification method based on symbolic time series analysis (STSA) and the adaptive immune clonal selection algorithm (AICSA) is studied. AICSA combining STSA is proved to be a powerful tool for identifying unknown parameters of structural systems even when the data is contaminated with relatively large amounts of noise.
文摘How to select appropriate wolds in a translation is a significant problem in current studies of machine translation, because it directly decides the translation quality. In ceder to solve the problem in our English-Chinese MT system, we have applied the algorithm to disambiguate senses of verbs, nouns and adjectitves in target language, and theresult shows that the approach is very promising.
文摘The core view of the adaptation theory is that language has a systematic propagation law,and language translation should be unfolded and extended according to the basic structure of the system. This paper has conducted an in-depth study on the translation of classics of the Taoist culture, with the purpose of improving the accuracy of the translation strategy. This paper also focuses on adaptation theory and taking the continuation and adaptation process of discourse as the core of the research, and conducts the construction analysis on the strategic model. The content of this paper is predicted to offer some simple translation reference ideas for professional translators who are dedicated to the direction of classics.
文摘Various questionnaires have been described which evaluate the quality of life in patients undergoing cancer treatment, but most were originally developed in English and have not been adequately validated for other languages. To evaluate the process of translation and cross-cultural adaptation and the measurement properties of the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Bone Marrow Transplantation(FACT-BMT)questionnaire,a systematic review was conducted with two independent evaluators. The search for articles was carried out in four databases:MEDLINE,EMBASE,CINAHL and SCIELO,using the terms“questionnaire”,“quality of life”,“oncology”,and“valid”and their descriptors according to MeSH and DeCs.The searches yielded 6,877 studies,of which only three performed the stages of translation,cross-cultural adaptation, and evaluation of the measurement properties of the FACT-BMT questionnaire. The instruments in Arabic,Chinese,Korean and Portuguese showed and presented good methodological quality, but none of the four studies followed all the validation criteria for the questionnaire. The adapted versions of the FACT-BMT have methodological weaknesses in their process of translation and cross-cultural adaptation and evaluation of measurement properties, therefore the questionnaires possibly being used inadequately in other languages.
文摘Image denoising has become one of the major forms of image enhancement methods that form the basis of image processing. Experimental results show that our proposed system has a wide range of applicability in any domain specific image denoising scenario, such as medical imaging, mammogram etc.

文摘Background The genomes of worldwide poultry breeds divergently selected for performance and other phenotypic traits may also be affected by,and formed due to,past and current admixture events.Adaptation to diverse environments, including acclimation to harsh climatic conditions, has also left selection footprints in breed genomes. Results Using the Chicken 50K_CobbCons SNP chip,we genotyped four divergently selected breeds:two aboriginal, cold tolerant Ushanka and Orloff Mille Fleur, one egg-type Russian White subjected to artificial selection for cold tolerance, and one meat-type White Cornish.Signals of selective sweeps were determined in the studied breeds using three methods:(1)assessment of runs of homozygosity islands,(2)F_(ST) based population differential analysis,and(3)haplotype differentiation analysis.Genomic regions of true selection signatures were identified by two or more methods or in two or more breeds. In these regions,we detected 540 prioritized candidate genes supplemented them with those that occurred in one breed using one statistic and were suggested in other studies.Amongst them,SOX5,ME3,ZNF536,WWP1,RIPK2,OSGIN2,DECR1,TPO,PPARGC1A,BDNF,MSTN,and beta-keratin genes can be especially mentioned as candidates for cold adaptation.Epigenetic factors may be involved in regulating some of these important genes(e.g.,TPO and BDNF).Conclusion Based on a genome-wide scan, our findings can help dissect the genetic architecture underlying various phenotypic traits in chicken breeds. These include genes representing the sine qua non for adaptation to harsh environments.Cold tolerance in acclimated chicken breeds may be developed following one of few specific gene expression mechanisms or more than one overlapping response known in cold-exposed individuals, and this warrants further investigation.
