Objective:To study the effect of minimally invasive spinal trauma surgery on spinal trauma. Methods:After 60 patients with spinal trauma were selected, the patients in observation group was treated by minimally invasive spinal trauma surgery, while the patients in control group was given the routine treatment. Results:After treatment, the observation group improved significantly in operation related indexes, complication rate, pain degree, quality of life,JOA score and 0DI score(P<0.05).Conclusion:Minimally invasive spinal trauma surgery is effective in the treatment of spinal trauma. 展开更多

Objective:To explore and analyze on how to prevent and treat deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs in patients with complications after orthopedic trauma surgery. Methods:The research patients were selected from the cases of surgical treatment of orthopedic trauma in the hospital during the past two years, and a total of 58 patients were selected. The patients were randomly divided into two groups, with 29 patients in the control group treated with conventional clinical methods;and the other 29 patients were assigned to the experimental group, where targeted preventive and therapeutic measures were administered.During the research, the number of complications of postoperative deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs and the corresponding treatment efficacy were compared between the two groups of patients. Results:According to the results of clinical experiments, the probability of patients in the experimental group suffering from deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs after surgery was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05);in addition, when complications of deep venous thrombosis of the lower limbs occurred, the treatment efficacy of the patients in the experimental group was 96.55%,and the treatment efficacy of the patients in the control group was 82.76%.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:Through clinical experiments to study and analyze the prevention and treatment measures of deep vein thrombosis in patients with complications after orthopedic trauma surgery, this research proves that active and comprehensive preventive and treatment measures can effectively reduce the number of complications and improve surgery treatment efficacy. 展开更多

Purpose:Trauma centres have been proven to provide better outcomes in developed countries for overall trauma, but there is limited literature on the systematic factors that describe any discrepancies in outcomes for trauma laparotomies in these centres. This study was conducted to examine and interrogate the effect of systematic factors on patients undergoing a trauma laparotomy in a developed country, intending to identify potential discrepancies in the outcome. Methods:This was a retrospective study of all laparotomies performed for trauma at a level 1 trauma centre in New Zealand. All adult patients who had undergone an index laparotomy for trauma between February 2012 and November 2020 were identified and laparotomies for both blunt and penetrating trauma were included.Repeat laparotomies and trauma laparotomies in children were excluded. The primary clinical outcomes reviewed included morbidity, length of hospital stay, and mortality. All statistical analysis was performed using R v.4.0.3.Results:During the 9-year study period,204 trauma laparotomies were performed at Waikato hospital. The majority(83.3%)were performed during office hours(170/204),and the remaining 16.7%were performed after hours(34/204).And 61.3%were performed on a weekday(125/204),whilst 38.7%were performed on the weekend/public holiday(79/204).Most of the parameters in office hours and after hours groups had no statistically significant difference, except lactate(p=0.026).Most of the variables in weekday and weekend groups had no statistically significant difference, except pH,lactate, length of stay, and gastrointestinal complications(p=0.012,p<0.001,p=0.003,p=0.020,respectively).Conclusion:The current trauma system at Waikato hospital is capable of delivering care for trauma laparotomy patients with the same outcome regardless of working hours or after hours, weekday or weekend. This confirms the importance of a robust trauma system capable of responding to the sudden demands placed on it. 展开更多

International rotations have been an option for young surgeons who face difficulties in obtaining sufficient trauma training in their own countries. One of the authors attended training in trauma surgery in South Africa for 6 months, where there are many trauma caseloads, and could experience the number of emergency operations equivalent to approximately 5 years in Japan. The rotation allows trainees to expose clinical practices intensively and to learn principles and theories of care under experienced academic surgeons. On the other hand, they could contribute to the host hospital as part of the workforce and by assisting young surgical residents.the development of a more systematic and formalized framework for staff exchange between developed and developing countries will provide mutual benefits to both sides. 展开更多
