The calculated bands are compared with the observed signature partner bands and very good agreement results at high spin are obtained. The observed deformed bands are confirmed as normal and highly deformed and their properties are explained theoretically. Terminating states in ^129Nd and other terminations are predicted. There is shape coexistence within the same configuration from lowspin states to high-spin states. Possible normal and highly deformed bands with rotation around the intermediate principal axis in several interesting configurations of ^129Nd are discussed. The experimental results for ^131Nd are simply discussed and the calculated bands are in good agreement with observed bands at high spin. TriaxiM shapes in ^127 Nd with a triaxial deformation of γ -12° are predicted and should be observed experimentally. The value of negative γ of π(h11/2)^4v(h11/2)^7 configuration increases with neutron number increasing in ^127,129,131Nd. The triaxial shape evolutions with neutron number increasing in ^127,129,131Nd and in ^126,128,130,132pr are explained by the strong driving force of specified single particle orbitals towards to triaxial shape.展开更多

The dynamic behaviors of Nanjing flake-shaped fine sand under different static deviator stress levels and cyclic stress ratios were studied. Through comparing the effective stress path under cyclic loading with static loading, the processes of liquefaction of saturated Nanjing flake-shaped fine sand with development of dynamic pore-water pressure, including the initial compact state, compression state and dilative state, were investigated. The variation of the shear stiffness with the number of cycles and cyclic strain was investigated by analyzing the secant shear modulus in each unload-reload loop of dynamic stress-strain relationship. And by means of the exponential function, the empirical equations of the relationship between secant shear modulus Gsec, shear modulus ratio Gsec/Gmax and cyclic strain ε were established based on series of test results. The results show that according to different combinations of static deviator stress and cyclic stress, two kinds of failure patterns with deviator stress reversal or no deviator stress reversal are observed in the samples tested in this series, including cyclic mobility and the failure of accumulation residual strain. In addition, the degradation of dynamic shear modulus is due to the development of vibration pore-water pressure and it is observed that the shear modulus reduces with the progressive number of cycles.展开更多

Within the framework of the triaxial particle-rotor model, the energy spectra and single-particle configurations of 157Yb are investigated. The calculated energy spectra agree well with the experimental data. The newly observed vf7/2 band, and the previously known vi13/2 band in 157Yb, are also discussed by means of Total-Routhian-Surface methods. The structural characters observed in 157Yb provide evidence for the shape coexistence of three distinct shapes: prolate, triaxial and oblate. At higher spins, both the vf7/2 band and the vi13/2 band in 157Yb undergo a shape evolution with sizable alignments occurring.展开更多

An infinite solid containing an isolated prolate spheroidal void is considered to depict the void shape effect and the Fleck-Hutchinson phenomenological strain gradient plasticity theory is employed to capture the size effects. It is found that the combined effects of void size and void shape are mainly controlled by the remote stress triaxiality. Based on this, a new size-dependent void growth model similar to the Rice-Tracey model is proposed and an important conclusion about the size-dependent void growth is drawn: the growth rate of the void with radius smaller than a critical radius rc may be ignored. It is interesting that rc. is a material constant independent of the initial void shape and the remote stress triaxiality.展开更多
