The simple obesity is a common clinical disease and its incidence is increasing year by year.With the increasing pace of work,increasing pressure,and changing eating habits,the incidence of simple obesity tends to be ...The simple obesity is a common clinical disease and its incidence is increasing year by year.With the increasing pace of work,increasing pressure,and changing eating habits,the incidence of simple obesity tends to be younger.Among the treatment protocols for this disease,TCM manipulative(Tuina)therapy has remarkable curative effect and few adverse reactions,and has been well recognized.Modern research has also proposed a variety of treatment protocols with different characteristics and good curative effects.This paper reviews the related literature on simple obesity and its manipulative therapy in the past ten years,and summarizes its disease name,etiology and pathogenesis,manipulation and related therapies,so as to provide new ideas and new angles for the treatment of the simple obesity.展开更多

OBJECTIVE:To explore the most effective parameters of Yi Zhi Chan Tuina manipulation for improving peripheral blood circulation.METHODS:A total of 45 volunteers were recruited from Pudong district in Shanghai,China,fr...OBJECTIVE:To explore the most effective parameters of Yi Zhi Chan Tuina manipulation for improving peripheral blood circulation.METHODS:A total of 45 volunteers were recruited from Pudong district in Shanghai,China,from October to December 2010,and randomly divided into nine groups using computer-generated random numbers.Participants received Yi Zhi Chan Tuina manipulation on Chengjin(BL 56) acupoint;each group received a particular combination of manipulation force and treatment time.We used a two-factor,three-level factorial design to examine the effects of force and treatment time on changes in popliteal artery average volume flow,pulsatility index,and vessel diameter to determine the optimal parameter group.Outcomes were assessed at baseline and after Tuina manipulation by interviewers blind to treatment group status.RESULTS:After manipulation,two of the nine groups showed an increase in popliteal artery volume flow.An inter-participants effect test showed that for main effect of time,F = 0.331,P = 0.720;for main effect of force,F = 2.934,P = 0.066;and for the force-time interaction effect,F = 1.072,P = 0.385,indicating no interaction between force and time.However,a pairwise comparison of the three levels of time showed that a treatment time of 10 min was significantly more effective than that of 2 min(P = 0.024).A pairwise comparison of light force,medium force,and heavy force showed a statistically significant effect for medium force(P = 0.035).CONCLUSION:Yi Zhi Chan Tuina manipulation with vertical force of 9.31 N for 10 min is most effective in improving peripheral circulation.展开更多
Objective:To observe the clinical therapeutic effect on atlantoaxial instability treated with the combination of ulna-tibia needling therapy and"point-to-surface"tuina manipulation.Methods:A total of 64 outp...Objective:To observe the clinical therapeutic effect on atlantoaxial instability treated with the combination of ulna-tibia needling therapy and"point-to-surface"tuina manipulation.Methods:A total of 64 outpatients diagnosed as atlantoaxial instability were collected and randomized into a control group and an observation group,32 cases in each one.In the control group,flunarizine hydrochloride capsules were used for oral administration.In the observation group,the combined treatment of ulna-tibia needling therapy and"point-to-surface"tuina manipulation was adopted.The ulnatibia needling therapy was exerted at the cutaneous region of hand taiyang meridian on the ulnar region(from carpal joint to elbow joint)on both sides.The"point-to-surface"tuina manipulation included"onepoint and two-surface"technique,"upper-to-lower pressing"method and"lifting-trembling"method.The treatment was provided once daily,consecutively for 5 times.The scores of neck symptoms and physical signs,atlantoaxial axle separation degree and clinical therapeutic results were taken as the observation indicators to evaluate the treatment effect.Results:After treatment,the curative rate and the total effective rate in the observation group were all higher significantly than the control group(all P<0.01).The scores of clinical symptoms and physical signs were statistically different in the self-comparison of each group before and after treatment(all P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of clinical symptoms and physical signs,the excellence rate of atlantoaxial axle separation and the effective rate in the observation group were all significantly better than those of the control group(all P<0.01).Conclusion:The combination of ulna-tibia needling therapy and"point-to-surface"tuina manipulation achieves the better clinical therapeutic effect as compared with flunarizine hydrochloride.展开更多
