Analysis of these test data serves as a measure to indicate deviation from normal operation profile and deterioration of plant performance. This present work implemented the heat balance tests process to three turb- generator units in order to assess the harmony, consistency, and accuracy of results to establish parallel correlation for the test process. The test process involves carrying out a heat balance for the turbo-generators at 50%, 75% and 100% load respectively through the determination of the heat losses through the hydrogen coolers, bearing oil, seal oil and radiation and convention to the atmosphere. Some important results were presented in the paper.展开更多

Aimed at limitation that analytical algorithm of circulating current could not reflect the local electromagnetic field distribution and difficulty that overlaps easily exist in solid modeling process of stator transposition bars, a simplified physical model of transposition bars is established. A three-dimensional(3-D) numerical method for circulating current in stator transposition bars of large water-cooled turbo-generators is investigated, which is combined with field-circuit coupling method. Taking stator bars less than 540° transposition with void model of a 600-MW water-cooled turbo-generator as the research object, the magnetic flux density distribution, current density distribution and circulating current distribution of transposition strands are obtained by numerical calculation. Compared with calculation results of the improved analytical algorithm, the correctness of the numerical calculation for circulating current is demonstrated, the calculation value difference for the maximum current of strands is obtained. The numerical calculation for circulating current will provide an appropriate basis for the reasonable calculation of local overheating of stator transposition bars and the design of safety margin for turbo-generators.展开更多

In view of fluctuation features of rotor speed rise curve during load rejection tests, the measurement principle of rotor inertia moment was expounded. Based on the measured data in load rejection tests for an imported type of domestic 300-MW generating unit, the rotor speed rise curve was fitted with three kinds of functions to get initial runup rate, but the obtained results differed a lot from each other. According to analysis on the mechanism of rotor speed rise, m=2 consecutive points averaging or FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) smoothing technology was introduced to process test data, and then the initial runup rate was determined by the method of linear fitting of rotor speed in the range of governing valve closing time. Although the obtained curves had a fluctuating shape, the results of rotor inertia moment for 50% and 100% load rejection tests were of good consistency.展开更多

Sometimes it leads to the occurrence of accidents and affects the normal operation of the generator. This paper firstly lays out the calculation method for end winding magnetic force. Second, based on the structure of large machines, the natural vibration frequency equation and forced oscillation equation is set up. Third, through the analysis of magnetic force calculation and vibration on the end winding of turbo-generator, it will be shown that the end winding vibration is related to the magnetic force and the position of winding binds as well as binding tightness. We can ease the winding vibration by distributing binding position appropriately or add more bindings, and test the concept through experimental data.展开更多
