Twin model-based fault detection and tolerance approach for in-core self-powered neutron detectors

The in-core self-powered neutron detector(SPND)acts as a key measuring device for the monitoring of parameters and evaluation of the operating conditions of nuclear reactors.Prompt detection and tolerance of faulty SPNDs are indispensable for reliable reactor management.To completely extract the correlated state information of SPNDs,we constructed a twin model based on a generalized regression neural network(GRNN)that represents the common relationships among overall signals.Faulty SPNDs were determined because of the functional concordance of the twin model and real monitoring sys-tems,which calculated the error probability distribution between the model outputs and real values.Fault detection follows a tolerance phase to reinforce the stability of the twin model in the case of massive failures.A weighted K-nearest neighbor model was employed to reasonably reconstruct the values of the faulty signals and guarantee data purity.The experimental evaluation of the proposed method showed promising results,with excellent output consistency and high detection accuracy for both single-and multiple-point faulty SPNDs.For unexpected excessive failures,the proposed tolerance approach can efficiently repair fault behaviors and enhance the prediction performance of the twin model. 展开更多

Production of Charged Higgs Bosons from Left-Right Twin Higgs Model at TeV Energy e^-γ Colliders

The left-right twin Higgs (LRTH) model predicts the existence of three additional Higgs bosons: one neutral Higgs φo and a pair of charged Higgs bosons φ±. In this paper, we study two pair production processes of these new particles at the next generation eγ colliders, i.e., e-γ → e-φ+φ- , and e-γ→vRφ-φ0. We find that the production cross section of the process e-γ → e-φ+φ- are at the level of several tens fb, the production cross section of the process e-γ→vRφ-φ0 can reach 0.35 fb with the reasonable parameter values. As long as the charged Higgs bosons are not too heavy, we conclude that these processes might be used to test for the left-right twin Higgs model in future high-energy linear collider experiments. 展开更多

Single Production of Top Quark via e^-γ Collision in Left-Right Twin Higgs Model

In the context of the left-right twin Higgs (LRTH) model, we fist study single production of the standard model (SM) top quark via e-γ collisions. We find that the corrections of the LRTH model to the cross section of the process e-γ→vebt might be observed only for f ≤750 GeV and the heavy top quark mass scale M ≥500 GeV in future high energy linear e^+e^- collider (LC) experiment with the center-of-mass (CM) energy √s = 500 GeV and a yearly integrated luminosity of £ = 100 fb^-1. We also consider single production of the heavy top quark T via e-γ collisions. Our numerical results show that the possible signals of the heavy top quark T might be observed via the decay channel T →Ф^+b→tbb in future LC experiment with √s = 3 TeV and £ = 500 fb^-1. 展开更多

In this paper, we consider the contributions of the left-right twin Higgs (LRTH) model to the processes qq' --~ Z(W)H. Our numerical results show that, in the favorable parameter spaces, the cross sections deviate distinctly from the predictions of the SM. The possible signals of the LRTH model can be detected via these processes at the LHC experiments. 展开更多

The twin Higgs mechanism has recently been proposed to solve the little hierarchy problem. In the context of the left-right twin Higgs (LRTH) model, we discuss single production of the new charged gauge boson WH^- , which is predicted by the left-right twin Higgs model, in association with top quark at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). It is found that, for a typical nonzero value of mass mixing parameter M = 150 GeV in the LRTH model, the production cross section is in the range of 3 ×10^-2 - 6.07×10^3 fb at the LHC. As long as the WH^- is not too heavy, the possible signatures of the heavy charged gauge boson might be detected at the LHC experiments. 展开更多

The digital twin-driven performance model provides an attractive option for the warn gas-path faults of the gas turbines.However,three technical difficulties need to be solved:(1)low modeling precision caused by individual differences between gas turbines,(2)poor solution efficiency due to excessive iterations,and(3)the false alarm and missing alarm brought by the traditional fixed threshold method.This paper proposes a digital twin model-based early warning method for gas-path faults that breaks through the above obstacles from three aspects.Firstly,a novel performance modeling strategy is proposed to make the simulation effect close to the actual gas turbine by fusing the mechanism model and measurement data.Secondly,the idea of controlling the relative accuracy of model parameters is developed.The introduction of an error module to the existing model can greatly shorten the modeling cycle.The third solution focuses on the early warning based on the digital twin model,which self-learns the alarm threshold of the warning feature of gas-path parameters using the kernel density estimation.The proposed method is utilized to analyze actual measured data of LM2500+,and the results verify that the new-built digital model has higher accuracy and better efficiency.The comparisons show that the proposed method shows evident superiority in early warning of performance faults for gas turbines over other methods. 展开更多

The study critically examines the principles,mechanisms,and effectiveness of different damage control tech-niques in dealing with natural disasters,emphasizing their pivotal role in minimizing casualties and economic losses.Each of these damage control techniques is mapped based on their applications and relevance in the key areas of natural disaster management.By utilizing various real-world instances,the present study shows that the effective implementation of various innovative techniques is shaping the space of natural disaster management in a global context.The integration of different innovative techniques into the existing natural disaster management system has improved the survival rate,economic performance,and sustainable development.The study finds that innovative disaster financing models,clear strategies,and creating awareness among communities can improve the overall efficiency of innovative techniques that are currently used for damage control during natural disaster events.Despite the substantial advantages of these creative strategies,the study acknowledges challenges such as financial constraints,unclear policy goals,and community adaptation requirements.The study also indicates that in the future,automatic damage restoration,quick prototyping,and additive engineering will play a vital role in controlling damage from catastrophic events,while it acknowledges limitations in temporal scope,generaliz-ability,andfinancial constraints. 展开更多

We investigate the processes pp → thj, pp → thˉb and pp → th W at the 8(14) Te V LHC and find that the production cross sections of the three processes can be enhanced at different levels. In the framework of the left-right twin Higgs model, we study pair production of the right-handed neutrinos at the International Linear Collider (ILC) and the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Our numerical results show that the production cross section of the process e+e→N N is at the level of several tens fb at the ILC. However, the resonance production cross section can be significantly enhanced to the order of pb. The pair production cross section for the right-handed neutrinos is the level of several hundreds of fb at the LHC. In general, pair production of right-handed neutrinos gives rise to 2l+4j signal without missing energy. As long as the right-handed neutrinos are not too heavy, we conclude that its pair production might be used to test for the left-right twin Higgs model at the future ILC and LHC experiments. 展开更多

In this work, we studied the single vector-like top partner production via process e-γ→ve Tb at the International Linear Collider. We calculated the production cross section at tree level and displayed the relevant differential distributions. The result shows that there will be 125 events produced each year with s=2 TeV and the integrated luminosity Lint ≈500 fb-1, and the b-quark tagging and the relevant missing energy ET cut will be helpful to detect this new effect. 展开更多

In the framework of the left-right twin Higgs (LRTH) model, we study the possibilities to detect the new Z' boson at the Tevatron and LHC. First, using pp collision data collected by the DO and CDF II detectors, we find that the LRTH Z' boson is excluded with masses below 940 GeV. Then we search for signatures of the Z' boson at the LHC from the analysis of some distributions for pp --* It+g- + X, such as the number of events, the differential cross section of the dimuon invariant mass, the distributions of the transverse momentum and the forward-backward charge asymmetry. We do our calculation for two typical values of the LHC center of mass energy (7 and 14 TeV). The numerical results show that, by applying convenient cuts on some of the observables, the dimuon invariant mass and final particle PT distributions can reveal the presence of the heavy neutral gauge boson Z' contribution in the LRTH model. 展开更多

It is found that the cross sections of these two processes could reach a few Fo with reasonable parameter values. With the yearly integrated luminosity of L 500 fb-1 expected at the ILC, one could collect hundreds up to thousands of charged ttiggs events via these two processes. Therefore, our researches in this paper can help us search for charged Higgs bosons, and furthermore, to test the LRTH model. 展开更多
