The physical and mathematical analyses with closed formulas avoid the still world-wide standardized energy-law violation by not reserving 33.33% (h2 belief) (or 20% h3/2 physical law) of the loading force and thus energy for all not depth producing events but using 100% for the depth formation is a severe violation of the energy law. The not depth producing part of the indentation work cannot be done with zero energy! Both twinning and structural phase-transition onsets and normalized phase-transition energies are now calculated without iterations but with physically correct closed arithmetic equations. These are reported for Berkovich and cubecorner indentations, including their comparison on geometric grounds and an indentation standard without mechanical twinning is proposed. Characteristic data are reported. This is the first detection of the indentation twinning of aluminium at room temperature and the mechanical twinning of fused quartz is also new. Their disqualification as indentation standards is established. Also, the again found higher load phase-transitions disqualify aluminium and fused quartz as ISO-ASTM 14577 (International Standardization Organization and American Society for Testing and Materials) standards for the contact depth “hc” iterations. The incorrect and still world-wide used black-box values for H- and Er-values (the latter are still falsely called “Young’s moduli” even though they are not directional) and all mechanical properties that depend on them. They lack relation to bulk moduli from compression experiments. Experimentally obtained and so published force vs depth parabolas always follow the linear FN = kh3/2 + Fa equation, where Fa is the axis-cut before and after the phase-transition branches (never “h2” as falsely enforced and used for H, Er and giving incorrectly calculated parameters). The regression slopes k are the precise physical hardness values, which for the first time allow for precise calculation of the mechanical qualities by indentation in relation to the geometry of the indenter tip. Exactly 20% of the applied force and thus energy is not available for the indentation depth. Only these scientific k-values must be used for AI-advises at the expense of falsely iterated indentation hardness H-values. Any incorrect H-ISO-ASTM and also the iterated Er-ISO-ASTM modulus values of technical materials in artificial intelligence will be a disaster for the daily safety. The AI must be told that these are unscientific and must therefore be replaced by physical data. Iterated data (3 and 8 free parameters!) cannot be transformed into physical data. One has to start with real experimental loading curves and an absolute ZerodurR standard that must be calibrated with standard force and standard length to create absolute indentation results. .展开更多

The material containing {10–12} twins-which are formed by compression before aging(twinned material)-has a finer grain size and higher dislocation density than the extruded material. Although the peak hardnesses of the twinned and extruded materials are almost the same, the time to reach the peak hardness is considerably shorter in the former material than in the latter(4 h and 24 h, respectively). In the twinned material, the high dislocation density of the {10–12} twins promotes continuous precipitation, which results in the formation of numerous fine Mg17Al12precipitates within the twins in the early stage of aging. The formation of these continuous precipitates reduces the driving force for discontinuous precipitation, which consequently suppresses the formation and growth of coarse Mg17Al12precipitates at the grain boundaries. Despite its shorter peak-aging time, the 4 h-peak-aged twinned material shows higher tensile strength and elongation than the 24 h-peak-aged extruded material. These higher mechanical properties of the former material are attributed primarily to the presence of more abundant fine continuous precipitates, which are effective in strengthening the material, and less abundant coarse discontinuous precipitates, which can act as crack initiation sites. These results demonstrate that the introduction of {10–12} twins into wrought Mg–Al-based alloys can accelerate the Mg17Al12precipitation kinetics considerably and improve the strength and ductility of the peak-aged alloys simultaneously.展开更多

In Mg-Al alloys, basal precipitates are known to strengthen against twinning, resulting in an increase in the critical resolved shear stress(CRSS) necessary for continued deformation. Although several models have been proposed to quantify the influence of precipitate shape, size, and distribution on the CRSS, the accuracy, scope, and applicability of these models has not been fully assessed. Accordingly, the objectives of this study are:(i)to analyze the accuracy of analytical models proposed in the literature for precipitation strengthening against twin thickening and propagation(in Mg-Al alloys) using phase-field(PF) simulations,(ii) to propose modifications to these model forms to better capture the observed trends in the PF data, and(iii) to subsequently test the predictiveness of the extended models in extrapolating to experimental strengthening data.First, using an atomistically-informed phase-field method, the interactions between migrating twin boundaries(during the propagation and thickening stages) and basal plates are simulated for different precipitate sizes and arrangements. A subsequent comparison between predictions from the extended models and experimental strengthening data for peak age-hardened samples reveals that the(extended) single dislocation and dislocation wall models provide reasonably accurate values of the increase in CRSS.Ultimately, the results presented here help elucidate the fidelity and applicability of the various hardening models in predicting precipitation strenghtening effects in technologically important alloys.展开更多

When rolling was performed with intermediate reheating, the alloy showed a sluggish static recrystallization(SRX) behavior during post-annealing, facilitating the nucleation and growth of statically recrystallized grains from extension twins. This resulted in the apparent texture component with the parallel alignment of the(0001) poles to the TD, and the sheet exhibited good ductility for both the rolling direction(RD) and TD. In contrast, continuous rolling without intermediate reheating led to the formation of severely deformed regions near double twins. SRX was promoted at such regions, forming a typical basal textural feature with weak RD-split of the(0001) poles. Although extension twins were formed after the continuous rolling, SRX was facilitated at the severely deformed regions with double twins, and the formation of the unique alignment of the(0001) poles to the TD was suppressed. The RD-split texture led to the large elongation to failure along the RD, while it along the TD decreased owing to the narrow distribution of the(0001)poles toward the TD, resulting in the in-plane anisotropy in ductility.展开更多

The motion of spheres during water entry is simulated using an independent overset grid. The numerical model is verified by comparing the cavity evolution results from simulations and experiments. Numerical results reveal that the time interval between the twin water entries evidently affects cavity expansion and contraction behaviors in the radial direction. However, this influence is significantly weakened by increasing the lateral distance between the two spheres. In synchronous water entries, pressure is reduced on the midline of two cavities during surface closure, which is directly related to the cavity volume. The evolution of vortexes inside the two cavities is analyzed using a velocity vector field, which is affected by the lateral distance and time interval of water entries.展开更多

It’s a high-risk delivery because of the high frequency of maternal, fetal and neonatal complications. Few studies exist on the comparative prognoses of twins. Our objective was to compare early neonatal complications in first and second twins. Methods: We carried out a cross-sectional prospective study from January 2 to April 30, 2020 (4 months) at the Yaounde Gynaeco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital, and the Yaounde Central Hospital. Data collected were analyzed using IBM SPSS version 23. Descriptive statistics were done in frequencies and percentages, means and standard deviations. Paired-sample student's t-test were used to compare means. McNemar’s Chi-square and Ficher’s exact tests were used to compare proportions. Statistical significance was set at p-values less than 0.05. Results: Of a total of 2183 deliveries during the study period, 43 (1.96%) were twin vaginal deliveries. Among the 43 women, 41 consented to have their newborns participate in the study. Overall, APGAR scores were better for the first twins at the first (p = 0.004) and fifth (p = 0.031) minutes than for the second twins. Although both twins had complications and that there were 4 neonatal deads of the second twin, there was no relationship between studied complications and the rank of the twin (p = 0.310). Conclusion: As the APGAR score seemed to be better for first twins, clinicians should pay more attention during twin births, in order to improve the prognosis of the second twin.展开更多

文摘The origin of unique parallel alignment of(0001) poles to transverse direction(TD) was investigated using Mg-3Al-0.4Mn(mass%)alloy sheets rolled with different process conditions. The RD-split texture led to the large elongation to failure along the RD, while it along the TD decreased owing to the narrow distribution of the(0001)poles toward the TD, resulting in the in-plane anisotropy in ductility.

文摘We studied the microstructure evolution of Mg-4Y-3Nd-2Sm-0.5Zr alloy by quasi-in-situ electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)along with several strains under compression tests, which provided direct evidence for the influence of different twin-twin geometric structure on the twinning behavior. The results showed that the mechanical properties of the alloy were higher than traditional magnesium alloys(the maximum compressive strength reaches 402.5 MPa)due to the strengthening effect of Sm and Nd elements addition on solution strengthening, precipitation strengthening, and grain refinement.Combined with the quasi-in-situ EBSD technique, two different twin-twin geometric structures,‘parallel structure’and‘cross structure’,were observed directly in the alloy. In the later stage of deformation, for‘parallel structure’,residual stress and a large number of dislocations mainly existed in the twin boundary and tip position. For the‘cross structure’,there was a lot of dislocation density in the interior of twins after fusion. The twin growth rate of‘parallel structure’was much faster than that of‘cross structure’because the stress of twins was mainly concentrated on the tip of twin. When the movement for the tip of twin was blocked, the growth rate of twin would be obviously decreased. Moreover, the‘cross structure’was easy to produce closed space.Due to the constraints of surrounding twins, the confined space was easy to stress concentration, thus inhibiting the growth of twins. At the same time, the‘cross structure’of twins needed a more external force to continue to deform, which also served as a strengthening structure.

文摘Thermomechanical treatment T10(extension twinning+aging treatment)can largely enhance the precipitation strengthening effect of magnesium alloys. In this study, dislocation structure evolution and precipitation behavior during T10 treatment of an AZ80 extruded bar were analyzed mainly by two-beam diffraction in TEM.At a compressive strain of 1%in the extrusion direction(ED),a typical dislocation configuration, including basal I1 stacking faults(SFs)and<c+a>dislocations, has been established in extension twins. As the strain reaches 7%,the volume fraction of extension twins increases to more than 90%at which point high dense I1 SFs and<c+a>dislocations occur. After aging for 2 h at 150℃for the 7%strained sample, masses of basal I1 SFs and<c+a>dislocations remain in the extension twins and can act as effective nucleation sites and solute fast-diffusion channels for continuous precipitates.Consequently, the precipitates in extension twins become highly dense.

文摘Natural disaster risk monitoring is an important task for disaster prevention and reduction. In the case of immovable cultural relics, however, the feedback mechanism, risk factors, monitoring logic, and monitoring indicators of natural disaster risk monitoring are complex. How to achieve intelligent perception and monitoring of natural disaster risk for immovable cultural relics has always been a focus and a challenge for researchers.Based on the analysis of the concepts and issues related to the natural disaster risk of immovable cultural relics, this paper proposes a framework for natural disaster risk monitoring for immovable cultural relics based on the digital twin. This framework focuses on risk monitoring, including the physical entities of natural disaster risk for immovable cultural relics, monitoring indicators, and virtual entity construction.A platform for monitoring the natural disaster risk of immovable cultural relics is proposed.Using the Puzhou Ancient City Site as a test bed,the proposed concept can be used for monitoring the natural disaster risk of immovable cultural relics at different scales.

文摘In this study, a three dimensional(3D) numerical model of six-degrees-of-freedom(6DOF) is applied to simulate the water entries of twin spheres side-by-side at different lateral distances and time intervals. The turbulence structure is described using the shear-stress transport k-ω(SST k-ω) model, and the volume of fluid(VOF) method is used to track the complex air-liquid interface. The evolution of vortexes inside the two cavities is analyzed using a velocity vector field, which is affected by the lateral distance and time interval of water entries.

文摘Temperature effect on atomic deformation of nanotwinned Ni (nt-Ni) under localized nanoindentation is investigated in comparison with nanocrystalline Ni (nc-Ni) through molecular simulation. The nt-Ni exhibits enhanced critical load and hardness compared to nc-Ni,where perfect,stair-rod and Shockley dislocations are activated at (111),(111) and (111) slip planes in nt-Ni compared to only SSockley dislocation nucleation at (111) and (111) slip planes of nc-Ni.The nt-Ni exhibits a less significant indentation size effect in comparison with nc-Ni due to the dislocation slips hindrance of the twin boundary. The atomic deformation associated with the indentation size effect is investigated during dislocation transmission.Different from the decreasing partial slips parallel to the indenter surface in nc-Ni with increasing temperature, the temperaturedependent atomic deformation of nt-Ni is closely related to the twin boundary:from the partial slips parallel to the twin boundary (~10 K),to increased confined layer slips and decreased twin migration(300 K–600 K),to decreased confined layer slips and increased dislocation interaction of dislocation pinning and dissociation (900 K–1200 K).Dislocation density and atomic structure types through quantitative analysis are implemented to further reveal the above-mentioned dislocation motion and atomic structure alteration. Our study is helpful for understanding the temperature-dependent plasticity of twin boundary in nanotwinned materials.

文摘Introduction: Twin birth is the expulsion of two fetuses and their appendages out of the woman’s reproductive tract. Conclusion: As the APGAR score seemed to be better for first twins, clinicians should pay more attention during twin births, in order to improve the prognosis of the second twin.

文摘The human digital twin(HDT)emerges as a promising human-centric technology in Industry 5.0,but challenges remain in human modeling and simulation.Digital human modeling(DHM)provides solutions for modeling and simulating human physical and cognitive aspects to support ergonomic analysis. However,it has limitations in real-time data usage, personalized services, and timely interaction. The emerging HDT concept offers new possibilities by integrating multi-source data and artificial intelligence for continuous monitoring and assessment.Hence, this paper reviews the evolution from DHM to HDT and proposes a unified HDT framework from a human factors perspective. The framework comprises the physical twin, the virtual twin, and the linkage between these two.The virtual twin integrates human modeling and AI engines to enable model-data-hybrid-enabled simulation.HDT can potentially upgrade traditional ergonomic methods to intelligent services through real-time analysis, timely feedback, and bidirectional interactions. Finally, the future perspectives of HDT for industrial applications as well as technical and social challenges are discussed. In general, this study outlines a human factors perspective on HDT for the first time, which is useful for cross-disciplinary research and human factors innovation to enhance the development of HDT in industry.
