Depth Estimation from a Single Image Based on Cauchy Distribution Model

Most approaches to estimate a scene’s 3D depth from a single image often model the point spread function (PSF) as a 2D Gaussian function. However, those method<span>s</span><span> are suffered from some noises, and difficult to get a high quality of depth recovery. We presented a simple yet effective approach to estimate exactly the amount of spatially varying defocus blur at edges, based on </span><span>a</span><span> Cauchy distribution model for the PSF. The raw image was re-blurred twice using two known Cauchy distribution kernels, and the defocus blur amount at edges could be derived from the gradient ratio between the two re-blurred images. By propagating the blur amount at edge locations to the entire image using the matting interpolation, a full depth map was then recovered. Experimental results on several real images demonstrated both feasibility and effectiveness of our method, being a non-Gaussian model for DSF, in providing a better estimation of the defocus map from a single un-calibrated defocused image. These results also showed that our method </span><span>was</span><span> robust to image noises, inaccurate edge location and interferences of neighboring edges. Nuclear charge density distribution plays an important role in both nuclear and atomic physics,for which the two-parameter Fermi(2pF)model has been widely applied as one of the most frequently used models.Currently,the feedforward neural network has been employed to study the available 2pF model parameters for 86 nuclei,and the accuracy and precision of the parameter-learning effect are improved by introducing A^(1∕3)into the input parameter of the neural network.Furthermore,the average result of multiple predictions is more reliable than the best result of a single prediction and there is no significant difference between the average result of the density and parameter values for the average charge density distribution.In addition,the 2pF parameters of 284(near)stable nuclei are predicted in this study,which provides a reference for the experiment. 展开更多

In previous research works, the traditional Wald method has been used to construct approximate confidence intervals for the 2-parameter Weibull distribution</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">under type-2 censoring scheme. However, the Wald technique is based on normality assumption and thus may not produce accurate interval estimates for small samples. The profile-likelihood and Wald confidence intervals are constructed for the shape and scale parameters of the 2-parameter Weibull distribution based on simulated and real type-2 censored data, and are hence compared using confidence length and coverage probability. 展开更多

We explored the Cauchy problem for the evolution of the charge density distribution function for a spherically symmetric system with nonzero initial conditions. In our model, the evolution of the charge density distribution function is simulated for the case of a non-uniform charged sphere. The initial speed of the system is nonzero. The solution breaks down into two components: the first one describes the system’s motion as a whole and the second describes the process of the evolution of the charge density function under the influence of its own electric field in the center-of-mass system. In this paper we considered the characteristic features of the implementation of a difference scheme for numerical simulation. We also illustrate the process of “scattering” of a moving charged system under the influence of its own electric field on the basis of the solution of the Cauchy problem for vector functions of the electric field and vector velocity field of a charged medium. 展开更多

Left truncation at q of the chi distribution in the mixing integral leads to an effectively truncated Student’s t-distribution with tails that decay as exp (-q2t2). The effect of truncation of the chi distribution in a chi-normal mixture is investigated and expressions for the pdf, the variance, and the kurtosis of the t-like distribution that arises from the mixture of a left-truncated chi and a normal distribution are given for selected degrees of freedom 5. 基于柯西分布统计模型和梯度信息,提出了一种用于热成像(红外)图像序列中行人目标检测的统计背景剔除方法.它不依赖传统红外行人检测方法的"热场"(hot-spot)假设(即认为人体区域总比周围环境热),而是用一种快速动态背景的重... 基于柯西分布统计模型和梯度信息,提出了一种用于热成像(红外)图像序列中行人目标检测的统计背景剔除方法.它不依赖传统红外行人检测方法的"热场"(hot-spot)假设(即认为人体区域总比周围环境热),而是用一种快速动态背景的重建方法建立初始化背景Gaussian模型,简化了Cauchy分布的参数估计问题.基于Gauchy分布的背景剔除被首先用来识别局部兴趣区域(Regions-Of-Interest,ROI).在每个兴趣区域将当前图像和背景图像的梯度信息组合成一个梯度图.对梯度图进行各向异性滤波和运用最大类间方差法进行自适应阈值处理后获得行人目标区域.经多组实验及与其他方法比较,结果表明提出的方法对热成像红外视频人体目标的位置和形状实现了较精确的检测,对环境、时间变化、极性翻转、"晕轮"效应等产生的影响,以及背景中杂波的干扰具有较好的鲁棒性. 展开更多

Shearlet变换作为后小波时代的一个重要的多尺度几何分析工具具有良好的各向异性和方向捕捉性,同时它也可以对诸如图像等多维信号进行一种近最优的稀疏表示.非下采样Shearlet变换(NSST)在保持Shearlet变换特性的同时还具有平移不变特性,这在具有丰富纹理和细节信息的图像处理中发挥着重要作用.该文首先对图像NSST方向子带内系数的概率密度分布进行分析,获得系数的稀疏统计特性和Cauchy分布拟合子带内系数的有效性;其次对NSST方向子带间系数的联合概率分布进行分析,获得方向子带系数间所具有的持续和传递特性,确定了一种NSST子带间树形架构的系数对应关系,进而提出一种NSST域隐马尔可夫模树模型(C-NSSTHMT),该模型通过Cauchy分布来拟合NSST系数,更好地揭示图像NSST变换后相同尺度子带内和不同尺度子带间系数的相关性.进一步提出一种基于所提出C-NSST-HMT模型的图像去噪算法,该算法对于含噪声方差为30和40的噪声图像,其去噪后的PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio)较NSCT-HMT方法分别提高了1.995dB和1.193dB.特别对纹理和细节丰富的图像,该算法在去噪的同时,有效地保留了图像的几何信息. 展开更多
