The interaction between gas and particle turbulence is simulated using the transport equation of two-phase velocity correlation with a two-time-scale dissipation closure. The proposed model is applied to simulate dense gas-particle flows in a horizontal channel and a downer. Simulation results and their comparison with experimental results show that the model accounting for both anisotropic particle turbulence and particle-particle collision is obviously better than models accounting for only particle turbulence or only particle-particle collision. The USM-Θ model is also better than the k-ε-kp-Θ model and the k-ε-kp-εp-Θ model in that the first model can simulate the redistribution of anisotropic particle Reynolds stress components due to inter-particle collision, whereas the second and third models cannot.展开更多

In this paper, the effect of void fraction and inlet velocity on the bubble-liquid two-phase turbulence of the multiple bubble-liquid jets in a two-dimensional channel is studied by using the two-phase second-order moment turbulence model. In comparison with the governing equations of a dilute two-phase flow, the solid-particle's governing equations are developed for a dense turbulent solid-liquid flow by adopting some relevant terms from the dilute two-phase governing equations.Based on Cauchy-Helmholtz theorem and Smagorinsky model, a second-order dynamic sub-grid-scale(SGS)model,in which the sub-grid-scale stress is a function of both the strain-rate tensor and the rotation-rate tensor,is proposed to model the two-phase governing equations by applying dimension analyses.Applying the SIMPLEC algorithm and staggering grid system to the two-phase discretized governing equations and employing the slip boundary conditions on the walls, the velocity and pressure fields, and the volumetric concentration are calculated. The simulation results are in a fairly good agreement with experimental data in two operating cases in a conduit with a rectangular cross-section and these comparisons imply that these models are practical.展开更多

A standard k-e turbulence model was chosen to close the governing equations. The computational results were in agreement with previous laboratory measurements. The characteristics of the two-phase flow field and the influences of hydraulic and geometric parameters on the distribution of the slurry jets were analyzed on the basis of the computational results. The calculated results reveal that if the initial velocity of the slurry jet is high, the jet spreads less in the radial direction. When the slurry jet is less influenced by the ambient fluid (when the Stokes number St is relatively large), the turbulent kinetic energy k and turbulent dissipation rate e, which are relatively concentrated around the jet axis, decrease more rapidly after the slurry jet passes through the nozzle. For different values of St, the radial distributions of streamwise velocity and particle volume fraction are both self-similar and fit a Gaussian profile after the slurry jet fully develops. The decay rate of the particle velocity is lower than that of water velocity along the jet axis, and the axial distributions of the centerline particle streamwise velocity are self-similar along the jet axis. The pattern of particle dispersion depends on the Stokes number St. When St = 0.39, the panicle dispersion along the radial direction is considerable, and the relative velocity is very low due to the low dynamic response time. When St = 3.08, the dispersion of particles along the radial direction is very little, and most of the particles have high relative velocities along the streamwise direction.展开更多

In the model, the solid particles move in a modified acceleration field, g′′ , which includes the effects of various forces on the particles as if all the forces have the same effect on the particles as the gravity. The accelerations due to various forces are then taken into account in the calcula- tion of the diffusion velocities of the solid particles in the gas-particle two-phase flow. The DFM was used to numerically simulate the gas-solid two-phase flow behind a vertical backward-facing step. This model was used to simulate the turbulent flow of power law fluid single-phase in pipe. It is shown that the USM- θ model has better prediction result than the κf -κf - κ- εp -θ model. The USM-O model was then used to simulate the dense two-phase turbulent up flow of power law fluid with particles. With the increase of the flow exponent, the velocities of power law fluid and particles increase near the pipe centre. Comparison between the two-phase flow of power law fluid-particle and of liquid-particle indicates that the axial fluctuation velocity of fluid phase and particle phase in liquid-particle two-phase flow is smaller than that in the power law fluid two-phase flow, but the two-phase velocities of power law fluid-particle and liquid-particle are close to each other.展开更多

Among these models the USM-O and the two-scale USM models are shown to give a better account of both anisotropic particle turbulence and particle-particle collision using the transport equation model for the two-phase velocity correlation.
文摘The basic equations of turbulent gas-solid flows are derived by using the pseudo-fluid model of particle phase with a refined two-phase turbulence model. These equations are then applied to swirling gas-particle flows for analyzing the collection efficiency in cyclone separators.

文摘A modified diffusion flux model (DFM) was developed to analyze turbulent multi-dimensional gas-particle two-phase flows. The numerical simulation compared well with experimental data and numerical results using both the k-ε-Ap and k-ε-kp two- fluid models available in the literature. The comparison shows that the modified diffusion flux model correctly simulates the turbulent gas-particle two-phase flow.

文摘Taking refined forecasting model of oil pollution as basic target, this pa-per widely deals with the theory and method of refined simulation of turbulent two-phaseflow.The two-fluid model of turbulent buoyant recirculating two-phase flow and the cor-responding method of numerical computation are developed in this paper. The motion ofeach phase is described by a unified multi-fluid model in an Eulerian coordinate system. The laws of turbulent transportation for each phase, and the restriction of each other be-tween the two phases are completely simulated. The complex two-phase turbulence withbuoyancy and recirculating flow is selected to examine numerically.Comparison of the re-sults of numerical simulation with the experimental data is conducted. Then the forecastsfor oil-water two-phase turbulence are carried out.It has been shown that the results ofnumerical simulation are satisfactory.

文摘In connection with the specific features of high velocity aerated flow generated by hydraulic engineering structures, the mathematical model is developed for high turbulence air-water two-phase flow with the use of twin flow theoretical model in this paper. Furthermore the numerical method is proposed to treat bubbled flows. In addition, on the basis of air-water stratified twin flow model, the new calculation methods and free surface tracking technique are proposed to describe complicated movements of the free surface. Finally, the proposed model is used to calculate artificial aerated flows. The computed results coincide quite well with experimental results. This means that the proposed method can provide solid basis for practical engineering design.

文摘The USM-θ model of power law fluid for dense two-phase turbulent flow was developed, which combines the unified second-order moment model for two-phase turbulence with the particle kinetic theory for the inter-particle collision. Comparison between the two-phase flow of power law fluid-particle and of liquid-particle indicates that the axial fluctuation velocity of fluid phase and particle phase in liquid-particle two-phase flow is smaller than that in the power law fluid two-phase flow, but the two-phase velocities of power law fluid-particle and liquid-particle are close to each other.
