An Analysis of the Dynamic Behavior of Damaged Reinforced Concrete Bridges under Moving Vehicle Loads by Using the Moving Mesh Technique

This work proposes a numerical investigation on the effects of damage on the structural response of Reinforced Concrete(RC)bridge structures commonly adopted in highway and railway networks.An effective three-dimensional FE-based numerical model is developed to analyze the bridge’s structural response under several damage scenarios,including the effects of moving vehicle loads.In particular,the longitudinal and transversal beams are modeled through solid finite elements,while horizontal slabs are made of shell elements.Damage phenomena are also incorporated in the numerical model according to a smeared approach consistent with Continuum Damage Mechanics(CDM).In such a context,the proposed method utilizes an advanced and efficient computational strategy for reproducing Vehicle-Bridge Interaction(VBI)effects based on a moving mesh technique consistent with the Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian(ALE)formulation.The proposed model adopts a moving mesh interface for tracing the positions of the contact points between the vehicle’s wheels and the bridge slabs.Such modeling strategy avoids using extremely refined discretization for structural members,thus drastically reducing computational efforts.Vibrational analyses in terms of damage scenarios are presented to verify how the presence of damage affects the natural frequencies of the structural system.In addition,a comprehensive investigation regarding the response of the bridge under moving vehicles is developed,also providing results in terms of Dynamic Amplification Factor(DAFs)for typical design bridge variables. 展开更多

Ilio-inguinal lymph node dissection(IILD) is a commonly performed surgical procedure for a number of malignant conditions involving mainly the male and female genitalia, and the skin; however the postoperative morbidity of IILD, due to high frequency of flap necrosis, wound infection and seroma formation, has always been a major concern for the surgeons. The aim of the study is to highlight a modified skin bridge technique of IILD using two parallel curvilinear incisions to minimize postoperative skin flap necrosis. This technique was successfully employed in 38 IILD during May 2012 to November 2013. None of the patient had flap necrosis. Two patients developed seroma while another two patients had superficial surgical site infection; they were managed conservatively. Modified skin bridge technique for IILD is an effective method to minimize flap necrosis without compromising the oncological safety. 展开更多

Based on Edong Yangtze River Bridge, which is the second longest hybrid girder cable stayed bridge with 926 m long main span, the influencing factors and crucial techniques of the main span closure method for long span hybrid girder cable stayed bridge are studied. After theoretical analysis, numerical evaluation and practical test, the loading assistant closure method is employed in Edong Yangtze River Bridge. The loading assistant closure method, with better thermal adaptability and less influence on bridge line and the forced status, can meet the requirements of the unstressed state control method. Based on the mentioned advantages, the loading assistant closure method is applicable to long span hybrid girder cable stayed bridges. To evaluate the effect of treating long cracks with the impact crack-closure retrofit(ICR)technique,three rib-to-deck welded specimens with a crack length of about 100 mm were tested.The metallographic structure,crack section,crack propagation life,and stress variation were analyzed.Finite-element models were also developed,and some optimal values of certain parameters are suggested according to the simulated results.The results show that new crack sources are generated on both sides of the ICR-treated region because of the stress distribution.The fatigue lives of cracked specimens with long cracks are significantly improved by the technique.Considerable residual compressive stress is also induced,and so it is suggested that the optimal impact angle to be applied to real bridges should be 70°.The stress at the weld root is distributed uniformly with the crack closed,and the optimal crack-closure depth is 4 mm.To evaluate the effect of different crack-closure depths in tests,it is recommended that a hot-spot stress method which is extrapolated by three reference points should be adopted. 展开更多

The constraints can increase the safety coefficient of the middle saddle, and improve the stress conditions of the middle pylon and decrease the deflection in the middle of the main girder, as well as the longitudinal displacement of the main girder caused by live loads. The anchorage boxes of the elastic cable are installed in the wind fairing outside the vertical web plate of the box girder. Two anchor boxes form a pair and are arranged parallelly. Eight anchor boxes are installed in the bridge. In this paper, the design scheme and the technical difficulties in manufacturing are briefly discussed with the precision control techniques. 展开更多

Long-span bridges are special structures that require advanced analysis techniques to examine their performance. This paper presents a procedure developed to model the Confederation Bridge using 3-D beam elements. The model was validated using the data collected before the opening of the bridge to the public. The bridge was instrumented to conduct fullscale static and dynamic tests. The static tests were to measure the deflection of the bridge pier while the dynamic tests to measure the free vibrations of the pier due to a sudden release of the static load. Confederation Bridge is one of the longest reinforced concrete bridges in the world. It connects the province of Prince Edward Island and the province of New Brunswick in Canada. Due to its strategic location and vital role as a transportation link between these two provinces, it was designed using higher safety factors than those for typical highway bridges. After validating the present numerical model, a procedure was developed to evaluate the performance of similar bridges subjected to traffic and seismic loads. It is of interest to note that the foundation stiffness and the modulus of elasticity of the concrete have significant effects on the structural responses of the Confederation Bridge. 展开更多

We fabricate different-sized Al/AlO_x/Al Josephson junctions by using a simple bridge-free technique, in which only single-layer E-beam resist polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) is exposed at low accelerate voltage(below 30 kV) and the size of junction can be varied in a large range. Compared with the bridge technique, this fabrication process is very robust because it can avoid collapsing the bridge during fabrication. THD Analysis of Cascaded H-Bridge Inverter with Fuzzy Logic Controller

In recent days, the multilevel inverter technology is widely applied to domestic and industrial applications for medium voltage conversion. But, the power quality issues of the multilevel inverter limit the usage of much sensitive equipment like medical instruments. The lower distortion level of the output voltage and current can generate a quality sinusoidal output voltage in inverters and they can be used for many applications. The harmonics can cause major problems in equipments due to the nonlinear loads connected with the power system. So, it is necessary to minimize the losses to raise its overall efficiency. In this paper, a new topology of seven level asymmetrical cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter with a Fuzzy logic controller had been implemented to reduce the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and to improve the overall performance of the inverter. The proposed model is well suited for use with a solar PV application. In this topology, only six IGBT switches are used with three different voltage ratings of PV modules (1:2:4). The lower number of semiconductor switches leads to minimizing overall di/dt ratings and voltage stress on each switches and switching losses. The gate pulses generated by Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) technique with a Fuzzy logic controller are also introduced. A buck-boost converter is used to maintain the constant PV voltage level integrated by an MPPT technique followed by Perturb and Observer algorithm is also implemented. The MPPT is used to harness the maximum power of solar radiations under its various climatic conditions. The new topology is evaluated by a Matlab/Simulink model and compared with a hardware model. The results proved that the THD achieved by this topology is 1.66% and realized that it meets the IEEE harmonic standards. 展开更多

参数冻结精细指数积分法在非线性车桥耦合振动分析中的应用

描述车桥耦合作用的基本问题是一个时变系统问题,且很多工况下需考虑非线性特性,使得该问题难以得到解析解,甚至数值解也可能很复杂.针对该问题的求解,提出了一种参数冻结精细指数积分法,将其应用于车桥耦合动力学模型的数值分析中.该... 描述车桥耦合作用的基本问题是一个时变系统问题,且很多工况下需考虑非线性特性,使得该问题难以得到解析解,甚至数值解也可能很复杂.针对该问题的求解,提出了一种参数冻结精细指数积分法,将其应用于车桥耦合动力学模型的数值分析中.该方法结合了精细积分和指数积分特点,并将时变系数矩阵在每一积分步参数冻结,用于获得系统振动响应的数值解.考虑汽车轮胎与桥面的力和位移耦合关系、桥面沥青铺装层、桥梁材料黏弹性和几何非线性特性,建立了车桥耦合动力学模型,并应用参数冻结精细指数积分法对该模型进行了求解.通过与近似解析解、辛Runge-Kutta算法以及经典的Newmark-β数值积分法计算结果进行对比,验证了所提出方法计算结果的有效性和准确性.在此基础上,制作了缩尺车桥耦合系统模型,测试了跨中挠度响应,进一步验证了理论建模和所提算法的有效性和实用性.通过数值计算分析了所提算法的数值特性,结果表明:提出的参数冻结精细指数积分法不仅可以处理时变、非线性问题,且具有良好的数值计算精度和长时间数值稳定性;由于精细积分的特点,参数冻结精细指数积分法的计算时间步长可以取的较大,可有效提高计算效率.因此,所提出的参数冻结精细指数积分法预期可成为求解车桥耦合动力学问题的一种新的高效算法. 展开更多

武汉青山长江公路大桥主桥为主跨938 m的双塔双索面全飘浮体系斜拉桥,主跨整体式钢箱梁高4.5 m、全宽48 m,采用500 t架梁吊机分节段悬臂拼装架设。钢箱梁悬臂拼装时,架梁吊机站位节段、待架节段由于荷载及约束不同,横截面变形呈现出不... 武汉青山长江公路大桥主桥为主跨938 m的双塔双索面全飘浮体系斜拉桥,主跨整体式钢箱梁高4.5 m、全宽48 m,采用500 t架梁吊机分节段悬臂拼装架设。钢箱梁悬臂拼装时,架梁吊机站位节段、待架节段由于荷载及约束不同,横截面变形呈现出不同的趋势,线形匹配难度大。为解决该问题,主跨钢箱梁悬臂拼装时选择上、下游分体式架梁吊机,减少架梁吊机自重;经比选选择横桥向27.7 m间距的架梁吊机站位,减小了架梁吊机荷载对横向线形匹配的影响;通过设置顶压装置(由顶压牛腿、支承底座组成),在架梁吊机站位节段、待架节段钢箱梁边腹板处施加1500 kN顶压力,配合少量马板,一次加载完成对接口竖向变形匹配调整。施工后,钢箱梁横向线形匹配精度均满足要求。 展开更多

孟加拉帕德玛大桥公路桥面边护栏采用钢筋混凝土墙式护栏,总长约18 km,高度达1.8 m,护栏外侧设置装饰槽,护栏底部伸至桥面板顶面以下且截面尺寸小。对护栏全现浇和全预制2种施工方案进行分析,提出一种半预制半现浇组合施工方案。预制现... 孟加拉帕德玛大桥公路桥面边护栏采用钢筋混凝土墙式护栏,总长约18 km,高度达1.8 m,护栏外侧设置装饰槽,护栏底部伸至桥面板顶面以下且截面尺寸小。对护栏全现浇和全预制2种施工方案进行分析,提出一种半预制半现浇组合施工方案。预制现浇分界线以护栏顶面中间位置开始延伸至与桥面翼缘顶面接触位置,外侧采用预制,预制节段长1.5 m;内侧采用现浇,现浇节段长度一般为9 m,根据灯柱的布置,设置6 m或7.5 m的调节分段长度,实现模块化施工。在预制场采用预制台座、模板和平躺预制方式预制边护栏的外侧部分,涂刷缓凝剂对预制现浇的湿接缝处进行冲洗凿毛,并预留锚固钢筋,利用预埋的吊装吊耳和支撑角钢在桥上安装预制的外侧部分后现浇内侧部分,通过锚固钢筋将边护栏与桥面板结合在一起。采用该施工方案,每月可预制1300片护栏,现浇段每月可施工3600 m,5个月内完成护栏现浇,护栏施工完成后的整体混凝土外观质量优良。 展开更多

济阳黄河公铁两用特大桥主桥为(84+144+228+240+300+120+60)m非对称、多跨、不等高、矮塔钢桁梁斜拉桥,采用塔梁固结、塔墩分离的结构体系。主梁采用N形双主桁、双层桥面布置,上层通行6车道公路,下层通行双线铁路。主墩桩基利用黄河枯... 济阳黄河公铁两用特大桥主桥为(84+144+228+240+300+120+60)m非对称、多跨、不等高、矮塔钢桁梁斜拉桥,采用塔梁固结、塔墩分离的结构体系。主梁采用N形双主桁、双层桥面布置,上层通行6车道公路,下层通行双线铁路。主墩桩基利用黄河枯水期采用大型旋挖钻机成孔,位于黄河主河槽的主墩承台采用锁口钢管桩围堰成套施工技术,其余主墩采用钢板桩围堰施工。主墩承台大体积混凝土结构采用自动测温及内部循环冷却水控制的智能化温度控制系统,承台混凝土未出现有害裂纹。钢桁梁利用门吊吊装杆件,设置墩旁托架和临时墩,采用双悬臂拼装+单侧悬臂拼装方式架设,结合钢塔两侧跨度不对称及跨黄河险工河段、施工条件受限等特点,通过定点精确配重+移动配重+索力调整,确保了钢桁梁线形满足设计要求、架设过程安全稳定。钢塔利用组合起重设备和定位工装分节组拼,钢横梁利用塔顶吊架整体提升,保证了钢塔安装精度。 展开更多
