In this paper we investigate the existence and stability of periodic solutions(on a half-line R_(+))and almost periodic solutions on the whole line time-axis R to the Boussinesq system on several classes of unbounded domains of R^(n) in the framework of interpolation spaces.For the linear Boussinesq system we combine the L^(p)—L^(q)-smoothing estimates and interpolation functors to prove the existence of bounded mild solutions.Then,we prove the existence of periodic solutions by invoking Massera’s principle.We also prove the existence of almost periodic solutions.Then we use the results of the linear Boussinesq system to establish the existence,uniqueness and stability of the small periodic and almost periodic solutions to the Boussinesq system using fixed point arguments and interpolation spaces.Our results cover and extend the previous ones obtained in[13,34,38]. 展开更多

Modelling of the variation of granular base materials resilient modulus with material characteristics and humidity conditions

This study aims to quantify the susceptibility of granular materials used in pavements to changes in moisture content and propose a correlation model to incorporate this susceptibility into seasonal analyses.The fines content and the percentage of fractured coarse aggregates were identified as direct indicators of the resilient modulus susceptibility to changes in water content.The results showed that the percentage of fractured coarse aggregates particles(FR)has a more significant impact on the resilient modulus(Er)of crushed granular materials used in pavement construction than the combined indicator of the fines content and sample volumetrics(nf).Crushed granular materials with a higher percentage of fractured coarse aggregates are relatively insensitive to changes in the degree of saturation,but become more sensitive as the fine fraction porosity decreases.An adjusted model was proposed based on the existing formulation,but considers a complex parameter to describe and adjust the sensitivity of base granular materials to variations in moisture content with respect to fabrication charac-teristics,fines content and volumetric properties.The model shows that the variation of Er values is below10%for fully crushed granular materials.However,it reaches approximately±12%for materials with 75%of crushed coarse aggregates andþ40%and-25%for materials with FR=50%.This model could help select good ag-gregates characteristics and adjust grain-size distribution for environments where significant moisture content variations can occur in the pavement system,such as in the Province of Quebec(Canada).As it is based on pa-rameters that can be easily determined or estimated,it also represents a valuable tool for detailed design and analysis that can consider material characteristics. 展开更多

In this paper, we prove the existence of random attractors for a stochastic reaction-diffusion equation with distribution derivatives on unbounded domains. The nonlinearity is dissipative for large values of the state and the stochastic nature of the equation appears spatially distributed temporal white noise. The stochastic reaction-diffusion equation is recast as a continuous random dynamical system and asymptotic compactness for this demonstrated by using uniform estimates far-field values of solutions. To be precise, samples are drawn from a sequence of unbounded and non-identical probability distributions. On the assump-tion that the interconnected functions of the studied systems satisfy the Lipschitz condition,by resorting to vector Lyapunov approach and M-matrix theory, the sufficient conditions toensure the robust exponential stability of the switched interconnected systems under arbi-trary switching are obtained. The proposed method, which neither require the individualsubsystems to share a Common Lyapunov Function (CLF), nor need to involve the values ofindividual Lyapunov functions at each switching time, provide a new way of thinking to studythe stability of arbitrary switching. In addition, the proposed criteria are explicit, and it isconvenient for practical applications.
