Relationship between Physico-Chemical Parameters and the Population Distribution of Fresh Water Snails in Amassoma Community and Niger Delta University Campuses,Bayelsa State,Nigeria

Evaluating the presence of fresh water snails in a location is germane in establishing a snail-borne disease control program.The purpose of the study was to see how physicochemical parameters influenced the population distribution of four fresh water snails(Lymnaea natalensis,Bulinus globosus,Biomphalaria pfeiffer,and Melanoides spp.)in the Amassoma community and Niger Delta University between March,2021 and May 2021.Snails were gathered by plucking and scooping them by hand.Snail was identified using standard pictorial keys.Physicochemical of the water of the snail habitat were measured using standard in-situ apparatus across eight sites Physico chemical measured were temperature,pH,conductivity,BOD,turbidity,salinity,and alkalinity.A total of 258 snails were gathered from the eight(8)different sites.In all sites,Lymnaea natalensis was more abundant.Bulinus globosus,Biomphalaria pfeiffer,and Melanoides spp.were among the other snails discovered.Lymnaea had negative correlation with pH,conductivity,BOD,and alkalinity and a positive correlation with salinity and temperature.Bulinus had a positive relationship with pH,salinity,and conductivity and a negative correlation with temperature,turbidity,BOD,and alkalinity.Biomphalaria had a positive correlation with temperature,pH,salinity,turbidity,and alkalinity Melanoides had positive correlations with Temperature,pH,salinity,BOD,and alkalinity and a negative correlation with turbidity and concentration.The was correlation between snails and snails.The presence of these snails suggests that the Amassoma village and Niger Delta University campuses are potential hotspots for a variety of snail-borne diseases.

Revisiting the Spirit of the UDHR and Discussing Human Rights Development——Summary of Views from the Seminar Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

On December 4,2023,the China Society for Human Rights Studies hosted a seminar in Beijing commemorating the 75^(th) Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.Participants discussed topics such as the significance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,China’s theories and practices in respecting and safeguarding human rights,the three global initiatives and global human rights governance,human rights protection in the digital age,and telling Chinese stories of human rights in the new era.The discussions led to a broad consensus and achieved positive results.

Tracing the Historical Development of Ethnic Colleges and Universities to Strengthen the Consciousness of the Chinese National Community:Oral Narratives of Southwest Minzu University's 70 Years of Development

"With copper as a mirror,you can wear a crown;with history as a mirror,you can know the rise and fall."This paper takes the 70-year development process of Southwest Minzu University as the carrier,the casting of the Chinese national community as the main line while tracing back to the source,adopts the recording method of"oral history of the school,"interviews witnesses to the development of Southwest Minzu University,including school leaders,teachers,alumni,and other representative figures,records the memories of these parties on the practices of Southwest Minzu University in different periods to cast the awareness of the Chinese national community,and collates them into a text.From the perspective of students,it is important to understand the history of the Chinese national community in the past 70 years since the establishment of Southwest Minzu University,collect and sort out the historical memories of Southwest Minzu University for the education of the Chinese national community,supplement and confirm the school's historical documents,preserve the history,make up for the gap in the history of the school,and at the same time provide a realistic basis for Southwest Minzu University to formulate future development strategies.

From the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to Building a Community with a Shared Future for Human Beings--The Past, Present, and Future of International Human Rights Protection

The UN Charter first of all affirmed the basic concept of international protection of human rights and opened up a broad space for international protection of human rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is an important document in the development of the international human rights cause. It established a set of international standards for basic human rights, represents the world’s most important consensus on human rights, and contributes greatly to the creation of an international human rights legal system. The important theory put forward by President Xi Jinping to build a Community with a Shared Future for Human Beings, as a Chinese program for today s global major issues, also outlines a new blueprint for national human rights protection and will play a major role in promoting the development of China’s human rights and international human rights protection.

Rhombic Cell Analysis - A New Way of Probing the Large- Scale Structure of the Universe. I.General Considerations

A new way of probing the large-scale structure of the universe is proposed. Space is partitioned into cells the shape of rhombic dodecahedron. The cells are labelled 'filled' or 'empty' according as they contain galaxies or not. The cell size is so chosen as to have nearly equal numbers of filled and empty cells for the given galaxy sample. Two observables on each cell are definable: the number of its like neighbors, n1, and a two-suffixed topological type τ, the suffixes being the numbers of its like and unlike neighbor-groups. The frequency distributions of n1 and T in the observed set of filled (empty) cells are then considered as indicators of the morphology of the set. The method is applied to the CfA catalogue of galaxies as an illustration. Despite its limited size, the data offers evidence 1) that the empty cells are more strongly clustered than the filled cells, and 2) that the filled cells, but not the empty cells, have a tendency to occur in sheets. Further directions of development both in theory and application are indicated.

About the University's Role in the Advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative

Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed to develop the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-centruy Maritime Silk Roadsuccessively in September and October of 2013.As we know,the institutions of higher learning have four major functions,namely,the talent cultivation,scientific research,social service and cultural heritance.These four functions actually play a crucial role inadvancing the Belt and Road Initiative.Under this background,a clear understanding about the university’s role and the feasibleapproaches in developing our country’s Belt and Road Initiative will fully assist to enhance the exchanges and cooperation amonguniversities of countries and regions along the Belt and Road routes,and make concerted efforts to realize the resource sharing,joint cultivation of talents,academic coexistence and cultural resonance,so that we could jointly build a community of higher edu-cation for the Belt and Road.

Application and Realization of Rapid Searching Technology in the RL & SM Universal Fixture System

A searching-machining system of RL & SM (Rapid Location and State Memory) universal fixture is here introduced, and the concept of rapid searching technology and manufacturing information transformation is then described, with the appropriate control methods and key techniques for its realization being proposed and also practically realized. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the proposed idea and methods are feasible to serve as in the practical application of the RL & SM system.

Anisotropic power spectrum and the observed low-l power in PLANCK CMB data

In this work,we study a direction dependent power spectrum in anisotropic Finsler spacetime. We use this direction dependent power spectrum to address the low-l power observed in WMAP and PLANCK data. The angular power spectrum of the temperature fluctuations has a lower amplitude in comparison to the ΛCDM model in the multipole range l = 2-40. Our theoretical model gives a correction to the isotropic angular power spectrum Cl^TT ldue to the breaking of rotational invariance of the primordial power spectrum. We estimate best-fit model parameters along with the six ΛCDM cosmological parameters using the PLANCK likelihood code in Cosmo MC software. We find that this modified angular power spectrum fits the CMB temperature data in the multipole range l = 2-10 to a good extent but fails for the whole multipole range l = 2-40.

Super-Large-Scale Structures in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

We study the super-large-scale structures in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey by cluster analysis, and examine the geometry and the properties of the member galaxies. Two subsamples are selected from the SDSS, Subsample 1 at the celestial equator and Subsample 2 further north. In Subsample 1 we discover two compact super-large-scale structures： the Sloan Great Wall and the CfA Great Wall. The Sloan Great Wall, located at a median redshift of z= 0.07804, has a total length of about 433 Mpc and a mean galaxy density of about six times that of the whole sample. Most of its member galaxies are of medium size and brightness. The CfA Great Wall, located at a median redshift of z = 0.03058, has a total length of about 251 Mpc and includes large percentages of faint and small galaxies and relatively fewer early-type galaxies.

Mathematical modelling of the spread of COVID-19 on a university campus

In this paper we present a deterministic transmission dynamic compartmental model for the spread of the novel coronavirus on a college campus for the purpose of analyzing strategies to mitigate an outbreak.The goal of this project is to determine and compare the utility of certain containment strategies including gateway testing,surveillance testing,and contact tracing as well as individual level control measures such as mask wearing and social distancing.We modify a standard SEIR-type model to reflect what is currently known about COVID-19.We also modify the model to reflect the population present on a college campus,separating it into students and faculty.This is done in order to capture the expected different contact rates between groups as well as the expected difference in outcomes based on age known for COVID-19.We aim to provide insight into which strategies are most effective,rather than predict exact numbers of infections.We analyze effectiveness by looking at relative changes in the total number of cases as well as the effect a measure has on the estimated basic reproductive number.We find that the total number of infections is most sensitive to parameters relating to student behaviors.We also find that contact tracing can be an effective control strategy when surveillance testing is unavailable.Lastly,we validate the model using data from Villanova University's online COVID-19 Dashboard from Fall 2020 and find good agreement between model and data when superspreader events are incorporated in the model as shocks to the number of infected individuals approximately two weeks after each superspreader event.
