Mental Health Literacy of University Students in Vietnam and Cambodia

Mental health literacy(MHL)refers to knowledge and attitudes that shape the recognition,management,and prevention of mental disorders.While the topic has been exhaustively researched in Western countries,research from Southeast Asia still is limited.Previous studies in this field showed a moderate recognition of mental disorders,a high prevalence of stigmatizing attitudes and a low willingness to seek professional help among Southeastern-Asian populations.This study explored the level of MHL among university students from different parts of Vietnam and Cambodia.Correlations with influencing factors(gender,age,study year,educational attainment of the parents,urban/rural origin,ethnicity,personal experiences with mental disorders)were also explored.An online survey,using a 30-item Vietnamese version of the Mental Health Literacy Scale(MHLS),was conducted at six university sites in Vietnam and Cambodia.Data of 1032 students from different study branches were included.The MHL of Vietnamese and Cambodian university students was lower,compared to samples from Australia or the UK.Females and students with a personal experience of mental disorders(self or family)showed a significantly higher MHL.No differences in MHL were found between students from different socioeconomic backgrounds(professional attainment of parents,urban/rural origin).Findings on the influence of ethnicity were inconclusive.MHL needs to be improved among the university students of Vietnam and Cambodia.Mental health promotion should specifically target male students,students from STEM branches,and international students.

The Role of Collectivist Culture and Mental Health Literacy in Mental Illness Stigma Among University Students in Indonesia

Mental illness stigma is a social construct which involves labelling individuals with mental illness which in turn discredits and results in the loss of dignity of the individual,as well as causing the individual concerned to experience discrimination,marginalization,and isolation.Mental illness stigma can be influenced by various factors.Factors that can affect mental illness stigma are collectivist culture and mental health literacy.This study used quantitative methods with the aim to investigate the role of collectivist culture and mental health literacy in mental illness stigma.The subjects in this study were 160 undergraduate students at tertiary institutions in Indonesia.The instruments used in this study were the mental illness stigma scale,collectivist culture scale,and mental health literacy scale.The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple regression.The results of multiple regression tests showed a regression coefficient value of 0.239 and a coefficient of determination value of 0.057.The significance value of mental health literacy is 0.022(p<0.05)with a standardized beta coefficient of-0.189 and the significance value of collectivist culture is 0.232(p>0.05)with a standardized beta coefficient value of-0.098.These results indicate that both collectivist culture and mental health literacy simultaneously play a role in reducing the mental illness stigma of university students in Indonesia.Mental health literacy has a significant role in reducing mental illness stigma among university students in Indonesia,whereas collectivist culture does not have a significant role in reducing mental illness stigma.

Critical Information Literacy Education Strategies for University Students in the Post-Pandemic Era

China’s Perspectives on the Modern Educational Value of Critical Information Literacy

Critical information literacy is a new and important direction of information literacy education for university students in the new media era.By comparing critical information literacy between China and the West,combining with the research on information literacy education in China in the past 20 years,and based on the three major relationships that Chinese philosophy is concerned about that people need to face in the world of life,i.e.,the individual and the self,the individual and nature,and the individual and the society,this paper defines critical information literacy as that individuals,as information subjects,discover,select,confirm,and evaluate the information they are exposed to by obtaining and discriminating the content elements of the information world(information sources,information,and information assets)and using critical thinking skills and methods,creatively interpret or solve the relevant problems arising from the interaction between individuals and self,individuals and nature,individuals and society,and form the literacy that represents the knowledge,ability,attitude,habit,and level of the information subject through continuous reflection and practice.In order for human beings to better understand the world and construct it responsibly,critical information literacy can play a greater role and educational value.It not only helps contemporary college students build knowledge of“good questioning”and enhance their“reasoning”skills,but also encourages them to maintain a“firm standpoint,”cultivate a habit of“healthy skepticism,”and enhance their“decision-making”skills.

新时代高校思政课教师基本素养的提升

New Measures of Chinese University Library Knowledge Service under the Cloudization Background

This article mainly explores and analyzes the application of network broadcast in the lecture service of university library under the cloudization background. By using the online survey method to investigate the lectures in some universities, it introduces the classification and characteristics of the network broadcast and obtains the advantage of network broadcast applied to lecture training through making contrast between the means of network multimedia. The result shows that the introduction of network broadcast can realize more customized, virtual and specialized lecture services, and facilitate the transformation of university library services in the digital era.

The Educational Role of Library: Information Literacy, Competence, and Standards

This paper deals with the educational role of library, especially university library, and in connection to this, information literacy, competence, and standards in information science. Microcomputers and their current application allow students to use them in laboratories, lecture halls, and libraries;software that are so developed that they allow to various types of computers (micros, picos, or hand-held computers) easy integration with larger systems. In this context libraries, as institutions become one of several available nodes in the information network, the new organization of teaching requires that teachers and students are computer literate requires libraries to provide methods and techniques for handling, through expert systems, their diverse searches, and similar (video disc, for example). Along with terms informatics and information science, there is also the term informatology which denotes theory and practice of emission, transmission, accumulation, selection, and absorption of information, the so-called ETAKSA complex. This paper, therefore, will be discussed communication and communication processes in university libraries that take place using new types of media, which we jointly referred to as information science and in the sea of definitions;we can say that we have added another.

人工智能素养教育:全球进展与展望

[目的/意义]探讨和总结AI素养教育的全球发展现状与趋势,明晰高校开展AI素养教育的现状和不足并以此提供优化策略。[研究设计/方法]以国际组织、发达国家等发布的政策文件、会议记录、研究论文等各种研究资料为基础探索AI素养教育的发展趋势,以采莓模式分析国内外29所高校在AI素养教育实践中的创新举措。[结论/发现] AI素养教育与AI教育存在明显的界限与联系。国际政策导向在推动AI素养教育方面发挥着至关重要的作用,但目前AI素养教育框架缺失。高校开展AI素养教育实践的施教者主要是学院、学习发展中心和图书馆,开展形式多样,教育内容涉及知识、技能、态度伦理价值观等方面。高校开展AI素养教育需要制定与优化教育框架、发挥高校图书馆的关键作用、实施多元化教育策略并基于KSAVE充实教育内容。[创新/价值]洞察AI素养教育的国际发展趋势,剖析高校AI素养教育的创新实践并以此提出优化策略,为高校AI素养教育领域的推广与实施提供有益的借鉴和指导。

从课程教学到文化教育:北京大学信息素质教育工作的回顾与展望

文章分初创时期、共创时期、网创时期、融创时期等四个阶段回顾北京大学百余年来信息素质教育工作的发展历程,总结工作成效、实践经验和基本认识,认为信息素质教育是教育的核心任务之一,是基于信息素质课程教学的文化育人活动,是改善人与信息、人与文化等关系的重要途径,并提出高校信息素质教育的时代命题与未来展望。

武汉大学图书馆信息素质教育40年变迁与展望

40年来,武汉大学图书馆信息素质教育经历了文献检索课萌芽与探索阶段、文献检索课与计算机信息检索课共存互补阶段、计算机信息检索向信息素质教育转型及发展阶段和信息素质教育向数字素养教育转型及发展阶段四个阶段,其发展源于国家政策牵引、专业框架指导、师生需求驱动、新兴技术赋能四个方面的动因,其发展经验主要体现在开展馆院(系)合作、重视师资队伍建设、采取多元教学方式、注重教学内容拓展、重视课程资源建设、推进信息素养教学研究等方面。未来,武汉大学图书馆将开展更加广泛的数字素养教育合作,强化多元场景的数字素养与技能提升。

以“文献检索”或者“信息检索”为核心的传统信息素质教育已经不能适应数智时代人才培养的要求,近年来国内不少高校的信息素质类课程举步维艰,部分高校已经停止开设信息素质类课程。四川师范大学以终身学习为导向改革传统信息素质教育,通过更新教学理念、调整课程名称、转变教学目标、重构教学内容、建设教学资源、创新教学模式、改进教学方法、优化评价方式、建设教学团队等一系列改革和创新,提升课程的实用性,强化信息素质教育在人才培养和学校发展中的地位和作用,取得了包括两门国家一流课程、一门国家精品在线开放课程在内的诸多成绩,为学生的全面发展和综合素质提升打下了坚实的基础。

【目的/意义】研究数据管理服务是科研范式变革下我国高校图书馆正在探索和推广的一项服务。【方法/过程】通过实地调研和网络调研,梳理美国科罗拉多州高校图书馆研究数据管理服务状况,分析其服务方式和特征。【结果/结论】美国科罗拉多州高校图书馆研究数据管理服务的共同点在于侧重用户数据素养提升,在分析产生这一特点的原因后,结合国内高校研究数据管理服务数据素养开展情况,提出了我国高校图书馆开展研究数据管理服务的建议。

澳大利亚高校图书馆科普推广服务现状及启示

高校图书馆通过开展形式多样、内容丰富的科普推广服务,将专业化的科学技术知识解释给普通群众,在科学文化知识普及方面发挥着重要作用。系统调研了澳大利亚25所高校图书馆的科普推广服务,分析其服务宗旨、举办模式、活动类型等方面,总结其科普推广服务的现状及其特点;针对我国高校图书馆科普建设,提出应从拓宽科普领域、丰富活动形式、打造科普品牌、重视用户需求、强化宣传渠道等方面优化发展策略,以期为我国高校图书馆开展更优质的科普服务提供参考,加速推进全民科学素养的提高。
