On Evaluating University Teachers’ Morality and Ethics in the New Era

University teachers play an important role in promoting moral and political education among university students.Regular and long-term construction of teachers’morality and ethics will contribute to the success of the fundamental task of cultivating talents.The present study proposes that due to the multiple identities of university teachers,it is necessary to evaluate the construction of teachers’morality and ethics in terms of what to evaluate and how to evaluate?It is expected that the attempt will provide useful guidance for the construction of university teachers’morality and ethics.

Study on the Spirits of University Teachers

The paper intends to study the formation of the spirit of independence, curiosity, innovation and benevolence which the university teachers in Medieval Europe had under the specific social and historical conditions. Based on this, by contrast the current crisis of spirits of medieval university teachers in modem society, the paper also analyzes the reasons and tries to find out the mechanism to cultivate the spirit of the university teachers in modem society.

Pressure Solution and Happiness Promotion in Young University Teachers based on EAP

This paper investigates and analyzes the current situation of young teachers in ten universities in Shaanxi via questionnaire survey and random interview. It is shown that the main source of pressure include the following aspects ： heavy burden of education and research, high-pressure in economy and life, high expectations of personal development, lack of physical exercise, mechanization of college evaluation system. On the basis of the above analysis, this paper puts forward the specific EAP model which is suitable to young teachers in NWPU Furtherly, the program impact assessment method is constructed to ensure the effective implementation of the program

Exploration of University English Teachers’Acceptance and Willingness to Use Learning Management System Data Analysis Tools

This study investigates university English teachers’acceptance and willingness to use learning management system(LMS)data analysis tools in their teaching practices.The research employs a mixed-method approach,combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to understand teachers’perceptions and attitudes,and the factors influencing their adoption of LMS data analysis tools.The findings reveal that perceived usefulness,perceived ease of use,technical literacy,organizational support,and data privacy concerns significantly impact teachers’willingness to use these tools.Based on these insights,the study offers practical recommendations for educational institutions to enhance the effective adoption of LMS data analysis tools in English language teaching.

Changes and Characteristics of EFL Teachers' Professional Identity:The Cases of Nine University Teachers

Teacher identity has emerged as a central topic in educational research since 1990s. Professional identity among university EFL teachers is however understudied, especially those were engaged in in-service PhD study. Drawing on the interviews with nine EFL teachers in a Chinese university, this qualitative case research explored the changes of their professional identity with in-service PhD study experience. Positive changes were reported by all nine teachers, although with varied loci. Consistent with prior studies, the nine teachers demonstrated multi-leveled, achievement-oriented and discipline-focused professional identities. This research highlights the powerful influence of policy upon their identity changes. Their professional identities are shaped and reshaped in the process of negotiating and balancing between personal beliefs and rules at different levels. Teachers with non-English PhD academic background displayed conflicting professional identity, with institutional pressure being the important sources of their struggle and dilemma.

Research on the Influence Factors and Struction of University Teachers Leader-Member Exchange

The leader - member exchange theory is one of the leading and the hot topic in recent years of the study of Western leaders. Structural studies of LMX factors have important theoretical and practical value in college teachers. In this paper, the ＂impact factor structure of university teachers LMX Questionnaire＂ for four universities 808 subjects was investigated. By exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, it found that the structure of university teachers LMX factors includes five dimensions： values, attitudes up, personality characteristics, switching behavior, objective situations. The questionnaire has good reliability and validity.

Investigation,Analysis,and Countermeasures of College Teachers'Psychological Pressure

Objective:This paper aims to explore the investigation,analysis,and countermeasures of the psychological pressure of college teachers.Method:From March 2023 to May 2023,3266 college teachers in our city were selected as the research objects,and the sources of their psychological stress were analyzed through a questionnaire survey.Results:In this paper,there were 500 cases of education and teaching pressure accounting for 15.31%,600 cases of research pressure accounting for 18.37%,1000 cases of professional title evaluation pressure accounting for 30.62%,and 1266 cases of life pressure accounting for 35.70%.Conclusion:The psychological pressure on teachers in colleges and universities in our city is relatively high,and this paper puts forward targeted countermeasures for this problem.

A Study of Ethnic Mongolian University EFL Teachers’ Beliefs and Decision Making

本研究采用定性(访谈和课堂观察)和定量(问卷调查)结合的研究方法,从90名受试中选取了3名蒙古族大学英语教师作为研究对象,探究特定文化背景下的蒙古族大学英语教师的教学信念与课堂决策的关系。定量研究结果发现:1)蒙古族大学英语教师的教学信念具有传统与现代相结合的特征,有些信念值得我们进一步的深入探究;2)教师的课堂决策受到他们学习经历、教学经历、培训经历和个人经历的影响;定性研究结果发现:1)教师报告的信念与课堂决策基本一致;2)教师"所倡导的理论"与他们"所采用的理论"之间有差异;3) 在这些教师的信念中,语言与文化是一个重复出现的主题。本研究结果表明蒙古族大学英语教师的教学信念与特定的民族文化交织在一起,对课堂决策产生了深远影响。

Exploring Researcher Identity Construction of University EFL Teachers in China

Based on the narratives of four Chinese university EFL teachers＇ research experiences, this study reports on the dynamic construction of their researcher identities and the crucial socioinstitutional and individual factors that have afforded and constrained researcher identity construction. The results presented different trajectories of researcher identity construction through the EFL teachers＇ three stages of research experiences （beginning, stagnation/ development, and struggle stages） in their professional lives. Academic learning contexts such as Master＇s and PhD programs were shown to be replete with factors that contributed to the development of researcher identity, while the institutional context and the broad social context in China were exposed to be greatly constraining. Motivation, publications, academic qualifications, and networking with researchers were four important individual factors that impacted the EFL teachers＇ researcher identity construction, The findings suggest that Chinese EFL teachers raise awareness of their researcher identities, make continuous critical reflections, and exercise agency to seek opportunities for development while governments and institutions should reform the current educational and promotion systems to support EFL teachers＇ research engagement.

A TEACHER DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN CHONGQING UNIVERSITY

This article reports on an on-going teacher development project in Chongqing University. The project, run by the College of Foreign Languages, is aimed at promoting professional development among its teachers, particularly new teachers, by adapting the reflective model of teacher development. It outlines the project framework and discusses the impact of the project on the teachers involved.
