Updating or conditioning a body of evidence modeled within the DS framework plays an important role in most of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. Rule is one of the most important methods to represent knowledge in AI. The appearance of uncertain reasoning urges us to measure the belief of rule. Now,most of uncertain reasoning models represent the belief of rule by conditional probability. However,it has many limitations when standard conditional probability is used to measure the belief of expert system rule. In this paper,AI rule is modelled by conditional event and the belief of rule is measured by conditional event probability, then we use random conditional event to construct a new evidence updating method. It can overcome the drawback of the existed methods that the forms of focal sets influence updating result. Some examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

In this paper, the problem of chaos, stability and estimation of unknown parameters of the stochastic lattice gas for prey-predator model with pair-approximation is studied. The result shows that this dynamical system exhibits an oscillatory behavior of the population densities of prey and predator. Using Liapunov stability technique, the estimators of the unknown probabilities are derived, and also the updating rules for stability around its steady states are derived. Furthermore the feedback control law has been as non-linear functions of the population densities. Numerical simulation study is presented graphically. 展开更多

A new fault detection and diagnosis approach is developed in this paper for a class of singular nonlinear systems via the use of adaptive updating rules. Both detection and diagnostic observers are established, where Lyapunov stability theory is used to obtain the required adaptive tuning rules for the estimation of the process faults. This has led to stable observation error systems for both fault detection and diagnosis. A simulated numerical example is included to demonstrate the use of the proposed approach and encouraging results have been obtained. 展开更多

Unidirectional two-lane freeway is a typical and the simplest form of freeway. The traffic flow char- acteristics including safety condition on two-lane freeway is of great significance in planning, design, and manage- ment of a freeway. Many previous traffic flow models are able to figure out flow characteristics such as speed, den- sity, delay, and so forth. These models, however, have great difficulty in reflecting safety condition of vehicles. Besides, for the cellular automation, one of the most widely used microscopic traffic simulation models, its discreteness in both time and space can possibly cause inaccuracy or big errors in simulation results. In this paper, a micro-simula- tion model of two-lane freeway vehicles is proposed to evaluate characteristics of traffic flow, including safety condition. The model is also discrete in time but continu- ous in space, and it divides drivers into several groups on the basis of their preferences for overtaking, which makes the simulation more aligned with real situations. Partial test is conducted in this study and results of delay, speed, volume, and density indicate the preliminary validity of our model, based on which the proposed safety coefficient evaluates safety condition under different flow levels. It is found that the results of this evaluation coincide with daily experience of drivers, providing ground for effectiveness of the safety coefficient. 展开更多

The chess pieces have vertical, horizontal, diagonal, up/down or combined movements on one or many squares of the chess. These movements can associate with neighborhoods. Our work aims to set a behavioral approximation between calculations carried out by means of traditional computation tools such as ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and the evolution of the value of the cells caused by the chess game moves. Our proposal is based on a grid. The cells’ value changes as time pass depending on both their neighborhood and an update rule. This framework succeeds in applying real data matching in the cases of the ODEs used in compartmental models of disease expansion, such as the well-known Susceptible-Infected Recovered (SIR) model and its derivatives, as well as in the case of population dynamics in competition for resources, depicted by the Lotke-Volterra model. 展开更多

We combine the Fermi and Moran update rules in the spatial prisoner's dilemma and snowdrift games to investigate the behavior of collective cooperation among agents on the regular lattice. Large-scale simulations indicate that, compared to the model with only one update rule, the the role of update dynamics should be paid more attention in cooperation behavior exhibits the richer phenomena, and the evolutionary game theory. Meanwhile, we also observe that the introduction of Moran rule, which needs to consider all neighbor's information, can markedly promote the aggregate cooperation level, that is, randomly selecting the neighbor proportional to its payoff to imitate will facilitate the cooperation among agents. Current results will contribute to further understand the cooperation dynamics and evolutionary behaviors within many biological, economic and social systems. 展开更多
