The subjects were administered by a self-reporting questionnaire designed to evaluate demographic factors, Internet addiction, loneliness, health-related lifestyle factors, depressive state, patterns of behavior, and mobile phone dependence. Results of multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that loneliness and mobile phone dependence were positively related to degree of addiction. Our findings suggest that Internet addiction is associated with loneliness and mobile phone dependence in Japanese students.展开更多

In recent years,major cities around the world such as New York in USA,Melbourne in Australia,and Shanghai in China,have planned to boost their nighttime urban vibrancy levels to spur the economy and achieve cultural d...In recent years,major cities around the world such as New York in USA,Melbourne in Australia,and Shanghai in China,have planned to boost their nighttime urban vibrancy levels to spur the economy and achieve cultural diversity.The study of nighttime urban vibrancy from the perspective of spatiotemporal characteristics is increasingly being recognized as part of the essential work in the field of urban planning and geography.This research used mobile phone signaling records to measure urban vibrancy in central Shanghai and revealed its spatiotemporal patterns during nighttime.Specifically,this research explored the changes of urban vibrancy within a day,studied the distribution of urban vibrancy during the nighttime,and visually presented the spatiotemporal changes of nighttime urban vibrancy in central Shanghai.Moreover,on the basis of the behavior pattern of each mobile user,we classified nighttime urban vibrancy into three different types:nighttime working vibrancy,nighttime leisure vibrancy,and nighttime floating vibrancy.We then tried to determine how land use affected nighttime leisure vibrancy.The results showed that urban vibrancy in central Shanghai exhibits a periodic pattern over one-day period.A high-level nighttime urban vibrancy belt is present within central Shanghai.Business offices,hotels,entertainment and recreational districts,wholesale markets,and express services contribute most to the vibrancy at nighttime.In addition,the correlation analysis shows that public and commercial facilities generate high levels of nighttime leisure vibrancy than residential facilities.The mixed land use of public and commercial facilities and residential facilities within 500 m is more critical than the mixed use of a single land lot.The research can be a basis for supporting land use planning and providing evidence for policy-making to improve the level of nighttime urban vibrancy in cities.展开更多

Every minute a woman dies due to pregnancy related complications globally, and half of these deaths occur in the developing countries. Despite knowing the main causes of these deaths, maternal mortality has remained h...Every minute a woman dies due to pregnancy related complications globally, and half of these deaths occur in the developing countries. Despite knowing the main causes of these deaths, maternal mortality has remained high especially in Sub-Saharan Africa with 536,000 deaths annually. One of the main challenges is access to maternal health services. This study aims at assessing whether mobile telephone will improve uptake of selected maternal health services by expectant mothers at Njoro and Nessuit Health centers in Njoro Division, Nakuru. A total of 397 women were recruited between April 2012 and July 2012 and randomly categorized into two groups for follow up. One group of 191 women were routinely given prompts and advice about their health and scheduled visits while the other group of 206 women were allowed to continue with routine antenatal visits with no mobile telephone support. The results show 7.4% of those followed up had less than 4 antenatal visits while 18.6% of those not followed up had less than 4 visits P value 0.002 which shows there was a significantly higher proportion of women on follow up who had more than 4 antenatal visits. There was a significantly higher proportion of women on follow up who received diet and place of delivery counseling, malarial prophylaxis, iron and vitamin supplements and deworming drugs. There was however no difference in those who received tetanus toxoid and HIV counseling. 88.0% of the cases on follow up gave birth in a hospital as compared to 72.8% of those not on follow up with a P value of 0.000 which indicates strong association. Overall hospital delivery was 80.1% for this group a value much higher than national figures of 44%. Women provided with mobile telephone support are more likely to follow the scheduled antenatal advice and use the services as recommended than those who do not receive any support. Therefore mobile telephone should be used routinely to improve antenatal service uptake and communication with health providers.展开更多

The aim of the present meta-analysis was to identify whether there was a relationship between mobile phone use and risk of brain tumor.A comprehensive search strategy was developed,and studies were eliminated in a ste...The aim of the present meta-analysis was to identify whether there was a relationship between mobile phone use and risk of brain tumor.A comprehensive search strategy was developed,and studies were eliminated in a stepwise manner,based on the inclusion criteria.The current meta-analysis collected data from the 24 eligible studies to investigate the relationship between mobile phone use and risk of brain tumor,while a detailed analysis of different classification was also conducted in order to identify the risk of mobile phone use.From the results,the relationship between cell phone use and brain tumor incidence had no significant difference between men and women.Cell phone use can increase the RF energy absorbed in the brain and apoptosis genes expression level,but glioma cell line cells were not significantly affected.Most calculations of laterality show a trend of increasing risk for time since first use,cumulative duration of subscriptions,cumulative duration of calls,and cumulative number of calls.In Asian people's,cell phone use and glioma had certain relations,while has verylittle relationship with meningioma incidence.This result seems to be no racial difference.In children and teenagers,cell phone use is associated with the incidence of brain tumors.We need longer time observation to supervise longer time (>20 years) mobile phone use whether has severe effects on incidence of brain tumor.展开更多

Aiming at solving the problem that it is challenging to choose the appropriate price adjustment strategy according to the market fluctuations,an adaptive price adjustment method based on dual deep fuzzy networks(DDFN)...Aiming at solving the problem that it is challenging to choose the appropriate price adjustment strategy according to the market fluctuations,an adaptive price adjustment method based on dual deep fuzzy networks(DDFN)is designed.First,a price adjustment model based on DDFN is established.Through interactively learning the recycling market environment,the description of the mapping relationship between the market environment information and the price adjustment action is realized.Second,based on a greedy strategy to calculate the optimal price adjustment action,it is possible to make small adjustments based on the preliminary estimated value of the waste mobile phone,and complete the judgment of the mobile phone recycling price.Third,based on the market feedback,the gradient descent algorithm is used to update parameters of the model to improve the performance.The proposed adaptive price adjustment method based on DDFN is applied to the actual transaction process,and the results show that the proposed method can ensure the accuracy and reliability of the adjustment results of the mobile phone recycling price.展开更多
