We propose that pion tetrahedrons, πTd = ud~dũ, play a central role in the Yukawa interaction by enabling quark exchange reactions between protons and neutrons by tunneling through a potential barrier. A vacuum polarization Feynman diagram is proposed for the πTd having chains of fermion loops for the two valence quarks and anti-quarks connected by gluons. With a higher order vacuum polarization diagram, the d and u quark loops are interleaved and the chiral symmetry is broken dynamically. The proposed πTd vacuum polarization integral does not diverge in both the IR and UV limits and vanishes in the limit of an infinite pion tetrahedron condensate. We propose a new Delbruck scattering Feynman diagram that includes d and u quark and anti-quark interleaved loops. We further propose that conversion of gravitons to photons may occur via quark and anti-quark loops that describe the pion tetrahedrons dynamics in the vacuum and may also transfer gravitational waves.展开更多

The derivation is based on a proposed thought experiment, according to which an electron is accelerated to a constant and relativistic speed at a distance L from a perfectly conducting plane. The charge of the electron was represented by a spherical charge distribution located within the Compton wavelength of the electron. Subsequently, the electron is incident on the perfect conductor giving rise to transition radiation. The energy associated with the transition radiation depends on the parameter L. It was shown that an inequality satisfied by the vacuum energy density will emerge when the length L is pushed to cosmological dimensions and the product of the radiated energy, and the time duration of emission is constrained by Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle. In this paper, a similar analysis is conducted with a chain of electrons oscillating sinusoidally and located above a conducting plane. In the thought experiment presented in this paper, the behavior of the energy radiated by the chain of oscillating electrons is studied in the frequency domain as a function of the length L of the chain. It is shown that when the length L is pushed to cosmological dimensions and the energy radiated within a single burst of duration of half a period of oscillation is constrained by the fact that electromagnetic energy consists of photons, an inequality satisfied by the vacuum energy density emerges as a result. The derived inequality is given by where is the vacuum energy density. This result is consistent with the measured value of the vacuum energy density, which is 5.38 × 10-10 J/m. The result obtained here is in better agreement with experimental data than the one obtained in Part I of this paper with time domain radiation.展开更多

We analyze its consequences on the standard statistical analysis of data showing that it is not fulfilled anymore the conventional hypothesis of a Poisson like probability density distribution of single photodetection events. We assume that vacuum fluctuations are due to real and measurable fluctuating fields, as recently confirmed experimentally, and that their non null correlations outside the light cone contribute to photon coincidence rates making them time dependent. We introduce a generalized Bell like correlation function which contains a new term due to supposed vacuum induced photon counting events. We deduce then a generalization of CH-inequality which takes in account the effect of these vacuum electric fields on detector efficiency. We predict an apparatus temperature fluctuations during photon detection which we suggest could be observed by looking for colored noise thermal emission of the photodetectors, generalizing the standard white noise prediction of C.S.L. models on wave function collapse postulate. We discuss an experimental test of this prediction, based on the idea of inducing a thermal wave on the whole quantum detectors, aimed to observe time dependent deviations from standard stationary statistical predictions of Quantum Mechanics.展开更多

This overarching theory proposes that the gravitational field of a sufficiently concentrated collection of matter and/or energy upregulates the virtual particle activity of the adjacent quantum vacuum, thus its energy density and lensing capacity. In contrast to general relativity, the particle and wave duality of quantum physics is necessary for understanding quantum vacuum gravitational effects. Very recent supporting and pending observational studies are discussed, including the ingenious and extremely sensitive vacuum scale to be deployed for the Archimedes Experiment. Support or falsification of this proposal may be imminent.展开更多

文摘To deeply understand the effects of support properties on the performance of Mo-based slurry-phase hydrocracking catalysts, four Mo-based catalysts supported on amorphous silica alumina(ASA),γ-Al_(2)O_(3),ultra-stable Y(USY)zeolite and SiO_(2) were prepared by the incipient wetness impregnation method, respectively, and their catalytic performances were compared in the vacuum residue(VR)hydrocracking process. It is found that the Mo/ASA catalyst exhibits the highest VR conversion among the different catalysts, indicating that both the appropriate amount of acid sites, especially B acid sites and larger mesoporous volume of ASA can enhance the VR hydrocracking into light distillates.Furthermore,Mo catalysts supported on the different supports show quite different product distributions in VR hydrocracking. The Mo/ASA catalyst provides higher yields of naphtha and middle distillates and lower yields of gas and coke compared with other catalysts,it is attributed to the highest MoS_(2) slab dispersion, the highest sulfuration degree of Mo species, and the most Mo atoms located at the edge sites for the Mo/ASA catalyst,as observed by HRTEM and XPS analyses. These features of Mo/ASA are beneficial for the hydrogenation of intermediate products and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons to restrict the gas and coke formation.

文摘In this paper,we study the zero dissipation limit with a vacuum for the reacting mixture Navier-Stokes equations. For proper smooth initial data that the initial density tends to zero as the relevant physical coefficients tend to zero,we demonstrate that the solution tends to a rarefaction wave connected to a vacuum on the left side coupled with a zero mass fraction of reactant. What is more, the uniform convergence rate is obtained.

文摘Close-space sublimation(CSS)has been demonstrated as an alternative vacuum deposition technique for fabricating organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs).CSS utilizes a planar donor plate pre-coated with organic thin films as an area source to rapidly transfer the donor film to a device substrate at temperatures below 200℃.CSS is also conformal and capable of depositing on odd-shaped substrates using flexible donor media. The evaporation behaviors of organic donor films under CSS were fully characterized using model OLED materials and CSS-deposited films exhibited comparable device performances in an OLED stack to films deposited by conventional point sources. The low temperature and conformal nature of CSS,along with its high material utilization and short process time, make it a promising method for fabricating flexible OLED displays.

文摘In this study,a novel Mg production process for producing high-purity Mg metal from dolomite was developed. When the electrolysis of calcined dolomite was conducted using Cu cathode and C anode in MgF_(2)–LiF molten salt at 1083–1173 K by applying an average current of 1.42–1.46 A for 9.50–21.0 h,the current efficiency of 66.4–88.6%was obtained. The produced Mg alloys consisted of MgCu_(2)and Cu(Mg)or MgCu_(2)and CuMg_(2)phases,depending on the Mg concentration in the Mg alloy. When the electrolysis of calcined dolomite was conducted in MgF_(2)–LiF–CaF_(2)molten salt at 1083 K,the current efficiency was 40.9–71.4%,owing to undesired reactions such as electroreduction of Ca^(2+)or/and CO_(3)^(2−)ions.Meanwhile,the current efficiency increased from 40.9%to 63.2%by utilizing a Pt anode, because the occurrence of CO_(3)^(2−)ions in the molten salt was prevented. After vacuum distillation of the obtained Mg alloys at 1300 K for 10 h,Mg metal with a purity of 99.9996–99.9998%was produced. Therefore, the feasibility of this novel process for the production of high-purity Mg metal from dolomite was demonstrated.
文摘The study characterized the curing behaviors of phenol formaldehyde(PF)resin under different vacuum degrees and explored the properties of 9-ply plywood panels hot-pressed under both vacuum and atmospheric conditions. The changes in core temperature and moisture content of the plywood mats during hot pressing were investigated as well.It was found that the gel times and gel temperatures of PF resin decreased with the increase of vacuum degree using a self-made device.FTIR spectra indicated the degree of polycondensation of hydroxymethyl gradu-ally increased with the increase in temperature. It was also observed that a higher degree of vacuum led to a slower polycondensation reaction rate of PF resin.During different hot-pressing processes, the bonding strengths in the innermost and uppermost gluelines of the vacuum hot-pressed plywood panels were up to 30%–50%higher than their counterparts of conventional hot-pressed products.A less difference in the bonding strengths between these two gluelines was also observed for vacuum hot-pressed products. In addition, the core of vacuum hot-pressed plywood was found to have a greater heating rate and higher temperature at thefinal stage of hot pressing, which was beneficial to cure the PF resin. The results from this study indicate a promising potential of introducing a vacuum during hot pressing to improve the quality and productivity of plywood products and provide a basis for adopting vacuum to hot press wood composites.
文摘Cu-phthalocyanine is widely studied as a hole-transport layer in organic electronic devices. Since Cu-phthalocyanine is a molecular solid, the crystal structure depends on a circumstance to a great extent. Vacuum deposited layers were known to consist of two consecutive layers. In this article, Cu-phthalocyanine was deposited on the glass substrate inclined at several angles. The thickness of the first layer was found to be dependent on the substrate angle.
文摘This paper mainly studies the blowup phenomenon of solutions to the compressible Euler equations with general time-dependent damping for non-isentropic fluids in two and three space dimensions. When the initial data is assumed to be radially symmetric and the initial density contains vacuum, we obtain that classical solution, especially the density, will blow up on finite time. The results also reveal that damping can really delay the singularity formation.

文摘Filtered cathodic vacuum arc(FCVA)deposition is regarded as an important technique for the synthesis of tetrahedral amorphous carbon(ta-C)films due to its high ionization rate, high deposition rate and effective filtration of macroparticles.Probing the plasma characteristics of arc discharge contributes to understanding the deposition mechanism of ta-C films on a microscopic level. This work focuses on the plasma diagnosis of an FCVA discharge using a Langmuir dualprobe system with a discrete Fourier transform smoothing method.During the ta-C film deposition, the arc current of graphite cathodes and deposition pressure vary from 30 to 90 A and from 0.3 to 0.9 Pa,respectively. The plasma density increases with arc current but decreases with pressure. The carbon plasma density generated by the arc discharge is around the order of10^(10)cm^(-3).The electron temperature varies in the range of 2-3.5 eV.As the number of cathodic arc sources and the current of the focused magnetic coil increase, the plasma density increases. The ratio of the intensity of the D-Raman peak and G-Raman peak(I_(D)/I_(G))of the ta-C films increases with increasing plasma density, resulting in a decrease in film hardness. It is indicated that the mechanical properties of ta-C films depend not only on the ion energy but also on the carbon plasma density.

文摘An in-depth understanding of the structure-activity relationship between the surface structure, chemical composition, adsorption and desorption of molecules, and their reaction activity and selectivity is necessary for the rational design of high-performance catalysts.Herein,we present a method for studying catalytic mechanisms using a combination of in situ reaction cells and surface science techniques. The proposed system consists of four parts:preparation chamber, temperatureprogrammed desorption(TPD)chamber, quick load-lock chamber, and in situ reaction cell. The preparation chamber was equipped with setups based on the surface science techniques used for standard sample preparation and characterization, including an Ar+sputter gun,Auger electron spectrometer, and a low-energy electron diffractometer. After a well-defined model catalyst was prepared, the sample was transferred to a TPD chamber to investigate the adsorption and desorption of the probe molecule,or to the reaction cell,to measure the catalytic activity.A thermal desorption experiment for methanol on a clean Cu(111)surface was conducted to demonstrate the functionality of the preparation and TPD chambers. Moreover, the repeatability of the in situ reaction cell experiment was verified by CO_(2) hydrogenation on the Ni(110)surface.At a reaction pressure of 800 Torr at 673 K,turnover frequencies for the methanation reaction and reverse water-gas shift reaction were 0.15 and 7.55 Ni atom^(-1) s^(-1),respectively.

文摘Stable low-frequency squeezed vacuum states at a wavelength of 1550 nm were generated.By controlling the squeezing angle of the squeezed vacuum states, two types of low-frequency quadrature-phase squeezed vacuum states and quadrature-amplitude squeezed vacuum states were obtained using one setup respectively.A quantum-enhanced fiber Mach–Zehnder interferometer(FMZI)was demonstrated for low-frequency phase measurement using the generated quadrature-phase squeezed vacuum states that were injected. When phase modulation was measured with the quantumenhanced FMZI,there were above 3 dB quantum improvements beyond the shot-noise limit(SNL)from 40 kHz to 200 kHz,and 2.3 dB quantum improvement beyond the SNL at 20 kHz was obtained. The generated quadrature-amplitude squeezed vacuum state was applied to perform low-frequency amplitude modulation measurement for sensitivity beyond the SNL based on optical fiber construction. There were about 2 dB quantum improvements beyond the SNL from 60 kHz to 200 kHz.The current scheme proves that quantum-enhanced fiber-based sensors are feasible and have potential applications in high-precision measurements based on fiber, particularly in the low-frequency range.
文摘A357-SiCp/A357 layered composites were prepared using a semi-solid vacuum stirring suction casting method. The microstructures, mechanical properties, and thermal conductivities of the composites fabricated under different suction casting processes were compared.Additionally, the microstructural evolution characteristics and performance enhancement mechanism of the A357-SiCp/A357 layered composites were discussed. The results demonstrate that suction casting at 610°C with a low solid phase ratio can significantly enhance the material density and reduce the agglomeration of SiCp.The A357-SiC_(p)/A357 interface is clear and straight with good bonding. With an increase in the suction casting temperature, the bending resistance and thermal conductivity of the A357-SiC_(p)/A357 layered composites exhibit a trend of significantly increase at first and then slowly decrease owing to casting defects, interface bonding, and SiCp distribution.Compared with SiCp/A357 composites, the bending strength, deflection, and thermal conductivity of the A357-SiCp/A357 layered composites increase from 257 MPa,1.07 mm,and 155.72 W·(m·K)^(-1) to 298 MPa,2.1 mm,and 169.86 W·(m·K)^(-1),respectively.This study provides a reference for improving the rheological casting of aluminum matrix layered composites.
文摘We study in this paper the possible influence of vacuum fluctuations on photo detection and its background noise in Bell tests. We discuss an experimental test of this prediction, based on the idea of inducing a thermal wave on the whole quantum detectors, aimed to observe time dependent deviations from standard stationary statistical predictions of Quantum Mechanics.
文摘Following a brief review of the “black hole dark energy radiation” and “gravitized vacuum” references, a novel theory of how gravity might affect the quantum vacuum is proposed. Support or falsification of this proposal may be imminent.
