In this paper authors use information value model with Geo graphical Information System (GIS) technology to study how slope aspect contributes to landslide growth from Yunyang to Wushan segment in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, and the relationship between aspect and landslide growth is quantified. Through the research on 205 landslides examples, it is found that the slope contributes most whose aspect is towards south,southeast and southwest aspect contribute moderately, and other five aspects contribute little. The research result inosculates preferably with the fact. The result of this paper can provide potent gist to the construction of Three Gorges Reservoir area in future.展开更多
Ecosystem service values(ESV)are strongly influenced by the vegetation cover,which is heterogeneous across different vegetation types.We develop a dynamic evaluation model of ESV for Wuyishan National Park Pilot adjus...Ecosystem service values(ESV)are strongly influenced by the vegetation cover,which is heterogeneous across different vegetation types.We develop a dynamic evaluation model of ESV for Wuyishan National Park Pilot adjusted by the rate of inflation and the fractional vegetation cover,which is calculated by an enhanced vegetation index from 2000 to 2018.The spatio-temporal variation of vegetation was also examined.The results demonstrated that:(1)the unit area of ecosystem service values adjusted by vegetation cover(ESVVC)shows a gradient of forest>tea plantation>grassland>cropland,and the major ecosystem services provided by forests include soil formation and conservation,climate regulation,and biodiversity maintenance;(2)the ESV_(VC) increased to 2.1 billion yuan(The reference rate announced by the People’s Bank of China is the US dollar to 6.42 Yuan per dollar.)from 2000 to 2018.Higher and lower ESV_(VC) are predominant in the northwest and southeast region,respectively.In addition,changes of ecological protection structures and human disturbances negatively affected vegetation cover,leading to a decreased ESVVC from 2000 to 2005 in the Jiuqu Stream Ecological Protection Area and the Wuyishan National Scenic Spot.The implementation of ecological protection policies from 2010 to 2018 enhanced the ESV_(VC) in the study area;and,(3)the ESVVC is highest in the southeast and 25°–35°area with altitudes of 800–1000 m.Our model can provide timely and helpful information of changes in ESV for use in ecological corridor design and ecological security monitoring.展开更多
Purpose-Nowadays successful organizations need to be masters at leadership by values to play in a constantly changing and transforming environment.But how can leaders and organizations effectively convene strategic an...Purpose-Nowadays successful organizations need to be masters at leadership by values to play in a constantly changing and transforming environment.But how can leaders and organizations effectively convene strategic and culture development based on values?This paper presents the Tri-Intersectional Model of Leadership by Values(TMLV)in which leaders and organizations can integrate a sustainable strategy,as well as a culture and value-based management system that simultaneously leverages human,financial,and social resources.With its three essential axes of values(economic-pragmatic,emotional-development,and ethical-social)at their intersection points,it allows leaders to focus on the strategy linkages:innovation-intersection between the economic-pragmatic values axis and the emotional-development values axis-allows them to develop sustainable innovations;survival-intersection between the economic-pragmatic values axis and the ethical-social values axis-enhances their organization’s survival;finally,sensibility-intersection between the economic-pragmatic values axis and the ethical-social values axis-makes them more humane and more socially-responsible.The application of the TMLV,using the Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making Open Technology Assessment System,can be a great inspiration for stimulating and working with values in organizations,as well as allowing leaders to develop a values-based,high-involvement,and performance-oriented culture.Methodology/Approach-This research considers empirical data analysis of the 37 case studies of the EU-InnovatE project(http//www.euinnovate.com)-a pioneering initiative to align innovation values to integrate the end user into the process of innovation and entrepreneurship related to a sustainable lifestyle and the green economy in Europe-using a fuzzy multiple-criteria decision making method and open technologies system,such as server-side PHP language,MariaDB Database,fork of MYSQL Database Management System,and JavaScript libraries to perform operation directly on the user’s browser.Findings-The application of the TMLV model,considering empirical analysis of the extracted values from the case studies,using the Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making Open Technology Assessment System,can be a great inspiration for stimulating and working with values in João organizations,as well as allowing leaders to develop suitable strategies and interventions for shaping a sustainable high-performance culture.Research implications-This research can be a starting point for further research to assess the effectiveness of the leadership model based on a decision-making open technology system in any given organization,as well as to invite researchers who have positive passion about working with values to participate in the improvement of this tool.Originality/value-The Tri-Intersectional Model of Leadership by Values using the Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making Open Technology Assessment System is presented as an evolution in leadership models that may be used to fuel innovation,survival,and a sensibility strategic focus that is necessary to optimize human and organizational performance and deliver effective solutions to the massive array of human,financial,and social problems we face today.展开更多

The explosive growth of mobile data demand is becoming an increasing burden on current cellular network.To address this issue,we propose a solution of opportunistic data offloading for alleviating overloaded cellular ...The explosive growth of mobile data demand is becoming an increasing burden on current cellular network.To address this issue,we propose a solution of opportunistic data offloading for alleviating overloaded cellular traffic.The principle behind it is to select a few important users as seeds for data sharing.The three critical steps are detailed as follows.We first explore individual interests of users by the construction of user profiles,on which an interest graph is built by Gaussian graphical modeling.We then apply the extreme value theory to threshold the encounter duration of user pairs.So,a contact graph is generated to indicate the social relationships of users.Moreover,a contact-interest graph is developed on the basis of the social ties and individual interests of users.Corresponding on different graphs,three strategies are finally proposed for seed selection in an aim to maximize overloaded cellular data.We evaluate the performance of our algorithms by the trace data of real-word mobility.It demonstrates the effectiveness of the strategy of taking social relationships and individual interests into account.展开更多
The accurate calculation of marine environmental design parameters depends on the probability distribution model,and the calculation results of different distribution models are often different.It is very important to...The accurate calculation of marine environmental design parameters depends on the probability distribution model,and the calculation results of different distribution models are often different.It is very important to determine which distribution model is more stable and reasonable when extrapolating the recurrence level of the studied sea area.In this paper,we constructed an evaluation method of the overall uncertainty of the calculation results and a measurement of the uncertainty of the design parameters derivation model,by incorporating the influence of sample information on the model information entropy,such as sample size,degree of dispersion,and sampling error.Results show that the sample data size and the degree of dispersion are directly proportional to the information entropy.Within the same group of data,the maximum entropy distribution model has the lowest overall uncertainty,while the Gumbel distribution model has the largest overall uncertainty.In other words,the maximum entropy distribution model has good applicability in the accurate calculation of marine environmental design parameters.展开更多

A method for simultaneous determination of mixed model parameters,which have different physical dimensions or different responses to data,is presented.Mixed parameter estimation from observed data within a single mode...A method for simultaneous determination of mixed model parameters,which have different physical dimensions or different responses to data,is presented.Mixed parameter estimation from observed data within a single model space shows instabilities and trade-offs of the solutions. We separate the model space into N-subspaces based on their physical properties or computational convenience and solve the N-subspaces systems by damped least-squares and singular-value decomposition. Since the condition number of each subsystem is smaller than that of the single global system,the approach can greatly increase the stability of the inversion. We also introduce different damping factors into the subsystems to reduce the tradeoffs between the different parameters. The damping factors depend on the conditioning of the subsystems and may be adequately chosen in a range from 0.1 % to 10 % of the largest singular value. We illustrate the method with an example of simultaneous determination of source history,source geometry,and hypocentral location from regional seismograms,although it is applicable to any geophysical inversion.展开更多

Aiming to transform the potential to a reality, customer values are systematically analyzed on basis of Value-Focused Thinking, which includes five aspects of identification, expression, organization, measurement and utilization. Nine types of heuristic questions are firstly used to identify customers' value statements. These statements are then transformed into a common expression. Then means-ends analysis and part- whole analysis are used to infer the relationships among statements, and result in a means-ends network and a hierarchical value tree for organizing them. An adaptive background model based on max-imum statistical probability and a shadow suppression scheme for indoor and outdoor people detection by exploiting hue saturation value(HSV)color information is proposed.To ob...An adaptive background model based on max-imum statistical probability and a shadow suppression scheme for indoor and outdoor people detection by exploiting hue saturation value(HSV)color information is proposed.To obtain the initial background scene,the frequency of R,G,and B component values for each pixel at the same position in the learning sequence are respec-tively calculated;the R,G,and B component values with the biggest ratios are incorporated to model the initial background.The background maintenance,or the so-called background re-initiation,is also proposed to adapt to scene changes such as illumination changes and scene geometry changes.Moving cast shadows generally exhibit a challenge for accurate moving target detection.Based on the observation that a shadow cast on a background region lowers its brightness but does not change its chro-maticity significantly,we address this problem in the ar-ticle by exploiting HSV color information.In addition,quantitative metrics is introduced to evaluate the algo-rithm on a benchmark suite of indoor and outdoor video sequences.The experimental results are given to show the performance of the algorithm.展开更多

文摘This paper applies double-uncertainty optimization theory to the operation of AC/DC hybrid microgrids to deal with uncertainties caused by a high proportion of intermittent energy sources.A fuzzy stochastic expectation economic model for day-ahead scheduling based on uncertain optimization theory is proposed to minimize the operational costs of hybrid AC/DC microgrids.The fuzzy stochastic alternating direction multiplier method is proposed to solve the double-uncertainty optimization problem.A real-time intra-day unbalanced power adjustment model is established to minimize real-time adjustment costs.Through comparative analysis of deterministic optimization,stochastic optimization and fuzzy stochastic optimization of day-ahead scheduling and real-time adjustment,the validity of fuzzy stochastic optimization based on a fuzzy stochastic expectation model is proved.
文摘An adaptive background model based on max-imum statistical probability and a shadow suppression scheme for indoor and outdoor people detection by exploiting hue saturation value(HSV)color information is proposed.To obtain the initial background scene,the frequency of R,G,and B component values for each pixel at the same position in the learning sequence are respec-tively calculated;the R,G,and B component values with the biggest ratios are incorporated to model the initial background.The background maintenance,or the so-called background re-initiation,is also proposed to adapt to scene changes such as illumination changes and scene geometry changes.Moving cast shadows generally exhibit a challenge for accurate moving target detection.Based on the observation that a shadow cast on a background region lowers its brightness but does not change its chro-maticity significantly,we address this problem in the ar-ticle by exploiting HSV color information.In addition,quantitative metrics is introduced to evaluate the algo-rithm on a benchmark suite of indoor and outdoor video sequences.The experimental results are given to show the performance of the algorithm.
