This paper describes a flood routing method applied in an ungauged basin, utilizing the Muskingum model with variable parameters of wave travel time K and weight coefficient of discharge x based on the physical characteristics of the river reach and flood, including the reach slope, length, width, and flood discharge. Three formulas for estimating parameters of wide rectangular, triangular, and parabolic cross sections are proposed. The influence of the flood on channel flow routing parameters is taken into account. The HEC-HMS hydrological model and the geospatial hydrologic analysis module HEC-GeoHMS were used to extract channel or watershed characteristics and to divide sub-basins. In addition, the initial and constant-rate method, user synthetic unit hydrograph method, and exponential recession method were used to estimate runoff volumes, the direct runoff hydrograph, and the baseflow hydrograph, respectively. The Muskingum model with variable parameters was then applied in the Louzigou Basin in Henan Province of China, and of the results, the percentages of flood events with a relative error of peak discharge less than 20% and runoff volume less than 10% are both 100%. They also show that the percentages of flood events with coefficients of determination greater than 0.8 are 83.33%, 91.67%, and 87.5%, respectively, for rectangular, triangular, and parabolic cross sections in 24 flood events. Therefore, this method is applicable to ungauged basins. 展开更多

In order to solve the design problem of dynamic load of a carrier-based aircraft, according to the relevant criteria of national military standards, eight key flight parameters of the dynamic load conditions for the aircraft carrier were selected.Based on the multivariable distribution data of landing flight parameters obtained from flight test, the distribution form and range limitation of each flight parameter were determined by using the probability distribution of each flight parameter and the spatial relationship among variables.Furthermore,100000 sets of data were constructed to simulate the landing condition of aircraft in the form of random number. After the envelope is screened by multivariable joint probability distribution, the boundary conditions were compared and merged, and finally the dynamic load conditions were obtained. In this paper,a set of dynamic load condition design method based on the aircraft requirements is constructed, which systematically covers all kinds of situations that occur in the process of aircraft landing, and improves the conventional design process of aircraft dynamic load. 展开更多

In this work,a novel refined higher-order shear deformation plate theory is integrated with nonlocal elasticity theory for analyzing the free vibration, bending, and transient behaviors of fluid-infiltrated porous metal foam piezoelectric nanoplates resting on Pasternak elastic foundation with flexoelectric effects.Isogeometric analysis(IGA)and the Navier solution are applied to the problem. The innovation in the present study is that the influence of the in-plane variation of the nonlocal parameter on the free and forced vibration of the piezoelectric nanoplates is investigated for the first time. The nonlocal parameter and material characteristics are assumed to be material-dependent and vary gradually over the thickness of structures.Based on Hamilton’s principle, equations of motion are built, then the IGA approach combined with the Navier solution is used to analyze the static and dynamic response of the nanoplate.Lastly,we investigate the effects of the porosity coefficients, flexoelectric parameters, elastic stiffness, thickness, and variation of the nonlocal parameters on the mechanical behaviors of the rectangular and elliptical piezoelectric nanoplates. 展开更多

Accurately approximating higher order derivatives is an inherently difficult problem. It is shown that a random variable shape parameter strategy can improve the accuracy of approximating higher order derivatives with Radial Basis Function methods. The method is used to solve fourth order boundary value problems. The use and location of ghost points are examined in order to enforce the extra boundary conditions that are necessary to make a fourth-order problem well posed. The use of ghost points versus solving an overdetermined linear system via least squares is studied. For a general fourth-order boundary value problem, the recommended approach is to either use one of two novel sets of ghost centers introduced here or else to use a least squares approach. When using either ghost centers or least squares, the random variable shape parameter strategy results in significantly better accuracy than when a constant shape parameter is used. 展开更多

Septic shock is a common critical condition, for which effective early fluid resuscitation is the therapeutic focus. According to the 2008 international guidelines for management of severe sepsis and septic shock, resuscitation should achieve a central venous pressure (CVP) of 8-12 mmHg within the first 6 h. However, it is still uncertain about the sensitivity and specificity of CVP in reflecting the cardiac preload. Ultrasonography is a simple, rapid, non-invasive, and repeatable method for the measurement of sensitivity and specificity of CVP and has thus gradually attracted the increasing attention of physicians. It was reported that ultrasonography can show the inferior vena cava diameter, respiratory variability index, and blood volume in patients with sepsis or heart failure. 展开更多

To solve the problems of SVM in dealing with large sample size and asymmetric distributed samples, a support vector classification algorithm based on variable parameter linear programming is proposed. In the proposed algorithm, linear programming is employed to solve the optimization problem of classification to decrease the computation time and to reduce its complexity when compared with the original model. The adjusted punishment parameter greatly reduced the classification error resulting from asymmetric distributed samples and the detailed procedure of the proposed algorithm is given. An experiment is conducted to verify whether the proposed algorithm is suitable for asymmetric distributed samples. 展开更多

The coupled heat and moisture transfer in a freezing process of wood particle material was mathematically modeled in the paper. The models were interactively solved by using the numerical method(the finite element method and the finite difference method). By matching the theoretical calculation to an experiment, the nonlinear problem was analyzed and the variable thermophysical parameters concerned was evaluated. The analysis procedure and the evaluation of the parameters were presented in detail. The result of the study showed that by using the method as described in the paper, it was possible to determine the variable (with respect to temperature, moisture content and freezing state) thermophysical parameters which were unknown or difficult to measure as long as the governing equations for a considered process were available. The method can significantly reduces the experiment efforts for determining thermophysical parameters which arc very complicated to measure. The determined variable of the effective heat conductivity of wood particle material was given in the paper. The error of the numerical calculation was also estimated by the comparison with a matched experiment. 展开更多

For nonlinear stability problems of discretized conservative systems with multiple parameter variables and multiple state variables, the activation method is put forward, by which activated potential functions and activated equilibrium equations are derived. The activation method is the improvement and enhancement of Liapunov-Schmidt method in elastic stability theory. It is more generalized and more normalized than conventional perturbation methods. The activated potential functions may be transformed into normalized catastrophe potential functions. The activated equilibrium equations may be treated as bifurcation equations. The researches in this paper will motivate the combination of elastic stability theory with catastrophe theory and bifurcation theory 展开更多

This study uses iso-geometric investigation, which is based on the non-uniform rational B-splines(NURBS)basis function,to investigate natural oscillation of bi-directional functionally graded porous(BFGP)doublycurved shallow microshells placed on Pasternak foundations with any boundary conditions. The characteristics of the present material vary in both thickness and axial directions along the x-axis.To be more specific,a material length-scale coefficient of the microshell varies in both thickness and length directions as the material's mechanical properties. One is able to develop a differential equation system with varying coefficients that regulate the motion of BFGP double-curved shallow microshells by using Hamilton principle,Kirchhoff-Love hypothesis, and modified couple stress theory. The numerical findings are reported for thin microshells that are spherical, cylindrical, and hyperbolic paraboloidal, with a variety of planforms, including rectangles and circles. The validity and effectiveness of the established model are shown by comparing the numerical results given by the proposed formulations with previously published findings in many specific circumstances. In addition, influences of length scale parameters,power-law indexes,thickness-to-side ratio, and radius ratio on natural oscillation responses of BFGP microshells are investigated in detail. 展开更多

In the Sahel region, the population depends largely on rain-fed agriculture. In West Africa in particular, climate models turn out to be unable to capture some basic features of present-day climate variability. This study proposes a contribution to the analysis of the evolution of agro-climatic risks in the context of climate variability. Some statistical tests are used on the main variables of the rainy season to determine the trends and the variabilities described by the data series. Thus, the paper provides a statistical modeling of the different agro-climatic risks while the seasonal variability of agro-climatic parameters was analyzed as well as their inter annual variability. The study identifies the probability distributions of agroclimatic risks and the characterization of the rainy season was clarified. 展开更多

Accurate engine performance models are important for model-based performance evaluation of aero engine. The accuracy of the model often depends on engine component maps,so there is a need for a method that can accurately correct the component maps of the model over a wide range. In this paper,a new method for modifying component maps is proposed, this method combines the correction of the scaling factors with the solution process of the off-design working point, and uses the adjustment of the variable geometric parameters of the engine to change the position of the working line,in order to obtain more correction results and guarantee high accuracy in a wider range. The method is validated by taking the main fan of the Adaptive Cycle Engine(ACE),an ideal power unit for a new generation of multi-purpose and ultra-wide working range aircraft,as an example. The results show that the maximum error between the corrected component maps and the target maps is less than 1%.New possibility for more precise component maps can be realized in this paper. 展开更多

Physical parameters are very important for vehicle dynamic modeling and analysis. However, most of physical parameter identification methods are assuming some physical parameters of vehicle are known, and the other unknown parameters can be identified. In order to identify physical parameters of vehicle in the case that all physical parameters are unknown,a methodology based on the State Variable Method(SVM) for physical parameter identification of two-axis on-road vehicle is presented. The modal parameters of the vehicle are identified by the SVM,furthermore, the physical parameters of the vehicle are estimated by least squares method. In numerical simulations, physical parameters of Ford Granada are chosen as parameters of vehicle model, and half-sine bump function is chosen to simulate tire stimulated by impulse excitation. The first numerical simulation shows that the present method can identify all of the physical parameters and the largest absolute value of percentage error of the identified physical parameter is 0.205%;and the effect of the errors of additional mass, structural parameter and measurement noise are discussed in the following simulations, the results shows that when signal contains 30 d B noise, the largest absolute value of percentage error of the identification is 3.78%.These simulations verify that the presented method is effective and accurate for physical parameter identification of two-axis on-road vehicles. The proposed methodology can identify all physical parameters of 7-DOF vehicle model by using free-decay responses of vehicle without need to assume some physical parameters are known. 展开更多

For a prescribed set of lacunary data{(x_(ν),f_(ν),f^(″)_(ν)):ν=0,1,...,N}with equally spaced knot sequence in the unit interval,we show the existence of a fam-ily of fractal splines S^(α)_(b)∈C 3[0,1]satisfying S^(α)_(b)(x_(ν))=f_(ν),(S^(α)_(b))^(2)(x_(ν))=f^(″)_(ν)forν=0,1,...,N and suitable boundary conditions. To this end,the unique quintic spline introduced by A.Meir and A.Sharma[SIAM J.Numer.Anal.10(3)1973,pp.433-442]is generalized by using fractal functions with variable scaling pa-rameters.The presence of scaling parameters that add extra“degrees of freedom”,self-referentiality of the interpolant, and“fractality”of the third derivative of the in-terpolant are additional features in the fractal version, which may be advantageous in applications. If the lacunary data is generated from a functionΦsatisfying certain smoothness condition, then for suitable choices of scaling factors, the corresponding fractal spline S^(α)_(b)satisfies||Φ^(r)−(S^(α)_(b))(r)||∞→0 for 0≤r≤3,as the number of partition points increases. 展开更多

Motivated by the increasing evidence for the need of a geometry that re- sembles Bianchi morphology to explain the observed anisotropy in the WMAP data, we have discussed some features of Bianchi type VI0 universes in the presence of a fluid that has an anisotropic equation of state (EoS) parameter in general relativity. We present two accelerating dark energy (DE) models with an anisotropic fluid in Bianchi type VI0 space-time. To ensure a deterministic solution, we choose the scale factor a(t) = √tnet, which yields a time-dependent deceleration parameter, representing a class of models which generate a transition of the universe from the early decelerating phase to the recent accelerating phase. Under suitable conditions, the anisotropic mod- els approach an isotropic scenario. The EoS for DE co is found to be time-dependent and its existing range for derived models is in good agreement with data from recent observations of type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) (Knop et al. 2003), SNe Ia data com- bined with cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy and galaxy clustering statistics (Tegmark et al. 2004a), as well as the latest combination of cosmological datasets coming from CMB anisotropies, luminosity distances of high redshift SNe Ia and galaxy clustering. For different values of n, we can generate a class of physically viable DE models. The cosmological constant A is found to be a positive decreasing function of time and it approaches a small positive value at late time (i.e. the present epoch), which is corroborated by results from recent SN Ia observations. We also ob- serve that our solutions are stable. The physical and geometric aspects of both models are also discussed in detail. 展开更多

Using a measurement system based on fluorescence induced by variable pulse light, photosynthesis parameters of chlorella pyrenoidosa are obtained, employing single-turnover and multiple-turnover protocols under darkadapted and light-adapted conditions. Under the light-adapted condition,σ’PSII is larger, and F’v/F’m(ST) and F’v/F’m(MT) are smaller than those of the dark-adapted condition, but the corresponding parameters possess good linear correlations.Fm(MT), F’m(MT), Fv/Fm(MT) and F’v/F’m(MT) which are measured using the multipleturnover protocol, are larger than those of the single-turnover protocol.
