This paper deals with the latest developments of thermal spraying equipment and processes as well as their application in China in recent years. In addition, five kinds of powders were used for plasma spraying to renovate worn parts of heavyduty vehicles and a simple and convenient optimizing method for process parameters of plasma spraying was studied. As a result, the service lives of renovated parts by plasma spraying were increased 2.77 to 8.33 times and an existence of a practical power input Wo was confirmed.展开更多
NOx is generally composed of NO,NO2,N2O,N2O4,and N2O5,which may form photochemical smoke and may lead to acid rain,greenhouse effect and destruction of the ozone layer in the atmosphere.In this paper,a new pneumatic s...NOx is generally composed of NO,NO2,N2O,N2O4,and N2O5,which may form photochemical smoke and may lead to acid rain,greenhouse effect and destruction of the ozone layer in the atmosphere.In this paper,a new pneumatic spraying scrubber was developed for recovering NOx from metallurgical exhaust.In this device,NOx was converted into nitric acid,which was then recycled in the oxidization reactor.Compared with conventional pneumatic spraying scrubbers,the self-developed pneumatic spraying scrubber had significant advantages,such as the simple structure without liquid circulation pump,easy operation,energy conservation,and the high recovery rate.The influences of various parameters,such as the spray tube height,the spray nozzle diameter,the concentration and temperature of the absorbent,and the operating pressure,on the recovery of NOx were also investigated.The best NOx removal efficiency was 76.08%.When the spray tube height was 0.74 m,the nozzle diameter was 0.5 mm,the absorbent content was 5%at 30℃,and the operating pressure was 0.15-0.17 MPa.The invented pneumatic spraying scrubber successfully solves the problems of high-concentration NOx absorption and regeneration of nitric acid.In addition,the device can also absorb other harmful gases and provide a possible new treatment process for air pollution control.展开更多
The agrochemical applicationwith conventional sprayers results inwastage of applied chemicals,which not only increases the economic losses but also pollutes the environment.In order to overcome these drawbacks,an imag...The agrochemical applicationwith conventional sprayers results inwastage of applied chemicals,which not only increases the economic losses but also pollutes the environment.In order to overcome these drawbacks,an image processing based real-time variable-rate chemical spraying systemwas developed for the precise application of agrochemicals in diseased paddy crop based on crop disease severity information.The developed system comprised ofweb cameras for image acquisition,laptop for image processing,microcontroller for controlling the system functioning,and solenoid valve assisted spraying nozzles.The chromatic aberration(CA)based image segmentation method was used to detect the diseased region of paddy plants.The system further calculated the disease severity level of paddy plants,based onwhich the solenoid valves remained on for a specific timeduration so that the required amount of agrochemical could be sprayed on the diseased paddy plants.Field performance of developed sprayer prototype was evaluated in the variable-rate application(VRA)and constant-rate application(CRA)modes.The field testing results showed a minimum 33.88%reduction in applied chemical while operating in the VRA mode as compared with the CRA mode.Hence,the developed systemappears promising and could be used extensively to reduce the cost of pest management as well as to control environmental pollution due to such agrochemicals.展开更多
