Influence of Wind Vector Structure Variation of Typhoon "Catfish" Circulation on Its Pathway Mutation

[Objective] The research aimed to study the wind vector structure variation of No.1013 strong typhoon 'catfish',and its influence on typhoon pathway mutation.[Method] According to the theory that the asymmetric structure of typhoon vortex had influence on typhoon movement,the center of No.1013 super typhoon 'catfish' was as the coordinate origin,and 850,500 hPa tangential rotation speeds within 300-500 km were decomposed into u and v components.The composite force movement tendency of typhoon was analyzed.The wind vector structure variation of No.1013 strong typhoon 'catfish' and its influence on typhoon pathway mutation were discussed.[Result] At the quick movement stage of No.1013 strong typhoon,the wind vector had obvious asymmetric structure.When the typhoon rotated in situ,the wind vector presented symmetric structure.When ΔU,ΔV and composite wind vector had obvious variations,the composite force of typhoon changed,and the moved direction also would change.The asymmetric structure of wind speed near 300-500 km around 500 and 850 hPa typhoon centers was favorable for tendency of moved pathway.The pointed directions of ΔU,ΔV and composite wind vector could be as the direction of composite force movement of typhoon.[Conclusion] The research provided reference basis for typhoon prevention.

An Efficient Information Hiding Scheme Based on Closest Paired Tree Structure Vector Quantization

Information hiding schemes based on vector quantization （VQ） usually require lengthy VQ encoding and decoding processes. In this paper, we propose an efficient information hiding method based on closest paired tree structure vector quantization （CPTSVQ）. The simulation result shows that the execution time of the proposed scheme is much shorter than that attained by previous approaches.

Monetary Policy and Unemployment:The Case of Romania

The paper aims to analyze the monetary transmission model between the monetary policy and the labor market variable of unemployment.The results of the data show that,the external shocks have an important impact especially on the Romanian interest rates but also on the domestic production;however,the impact is not significant on unemployment,which proves the resilience of the domestic labor market.The central bank policy rate has a stabilizing effect on the unemployment rate in case of an increase in the euro area policy rate.

Static response of a layered magneto-electro-elastic half-space structure under circular surface loading

A cylindrical system of vector functions, the stiffness matrix method and the corresponding recursive algorithm are proposed to investigate the static response of transversely isotropic,layered magneto-electro-elastic（MEE） structures over a homogeneous half-space substrate subjected to circular surface loading. In terms of the system of vector functions, we expand the extended displacements and stresses, and deduce two sets of ordinary differential equations, which are related to the expansion coeficients. The solution to one of the two sets of these ordinary differential equations can be evaluated by using the stiffness matrix method and the corresponding recursive algorithm. These expansion coeficients are then integrated by adaptive Gaussian quadrature to obtain the displacements and stresses in the physical domain. Two types of surface loads, mechanical pressure and electric loading,are considered in the numerical examples. The calculated results show that the proposed technique is stable and effective in analyzing the layered half-space MEE structures under surface loading.

A Comprehensive Survey on STP Approach to Finite Games

Nowadays the semi-tensor product(STP)approach to finite games has become a promising new direction.This paper provides a comprehensive survey on this prosperous field.After a brief introduction for STP and finite(networked)games,a description for the principle and fundamental technique of STP approach to finite games is presented.Then several problems and recent results about theory and applications of finite games via STP are presented.A brief comment about the potential use of STP to artificial intelligence is also proposed.

Impact of the Global Financial Crisis on China: Empirical Evidence and Policy Implications

This paper applies a structural vector autoregression analysis to quantify the impact of the global financial crisis on China. It is found that the impact is indeed sizeable： a 1-percent decline in economic growth in the USA, the EU and Japan is likely to lead to a0. 73-percent decline in growth in China. The article discusses whether the current measures of fiscal stimulus are adequate to offset the sharp decline in external demand Although there is little doubt that the massive fiscal stimulus will largely offset the significant shortfalls in external demand, the current growth pattern in China will be increasingly unsustainable in the long term. China ＂s reform cycles suggest that external shocks are often opportunities for structural reforms. Therefore, the crisis could also be a catulyst for rebalancing China ＇s economic structure so as to return the economy to a sustainable path.

Optimal Monetary Policy in China

Using the structural vector autoregression model, we estimate the current responses of monetary policy to contemporaneous shocks from macroeconomic variables. Our findings indicate that the People＇s Bank of China responded to inflation and output changes, but did not react to asset price fluctuations during the period from January 1997 to March 2010. The optimal monetary responses to exogenous shocks are also examined It is revealed that using asset prices to formulate monetary policy would not help to improve monetary authorities ＇performance in lowering the volatilities of output growth and inflation while keeping output growth and inflation in their safety zones. The effectiveness of monetary policy and fiscal policy in reacting to external shocks is also discussed.

On Basis and Pure Nash Equilibrium of Finite Pure Harmonic Games

This paper investigates the basis and pure Nash equilibrium of finite pure harmonic games(FPHGs) based on the vector space structure. First, a new criterion is proposed for the construction of pure harmonic subspace, based on which, a more concise basis is constructed for the pure harmonic subspace. Second, based on the new basis of FPHGs and auxiliary harmonic vector, a more easily verifiable criterion is presented for the existence of pure Nash equilibrium in basis FPHGs. Third,by constructing a pure Nash equilibrium cubic matrix, the verification of pure Nash equilibrium in three-player FPHGs is given.
