Methods A total of 110 patients with RA were randomly divided into an acupuncture combined with vesiculating cupping group(group A) and an acupuncture combined with non-vesiculating cupping group(group B). Treatment was conducted once a day in two groups, and ten days were considered as one course of treatment. The total effective rate was observed after treatment for three courses. Results The difference in cured and markable effective rate of group A and group B was obviously significant [81.82%(45/55) vs 18.18%(10/55), P〈0.01], the difference in total effective rate of group A and group B was significant [96.36%(53/55) vs 69.09%(38/55), P〈0.05], indicating that the efficacy in group A was significantly superior to that of group B. Conclusion Acupurcture combined with vesiculating cupping therapy achieves more satisfactory efficacy on RA compared with acupuncture combined with nonvesiculating cupping therapy.展开更多

In clinical application, the authors advocate: ① avoid using drugs that are over-irritating in the property, and strictly controlling the dose of drugs and the duration of application, ② in selection of drugs, some factors as patients’ conditions, the season, the geographic location, etc. should be taken into account. In the present paper, 3 typical cases of bronchial asthma, tonsil swelling and facial paralysis treated with medicinal vesiculation therapy are introduced. Clinical practice demonstrates that this therapy is economical, simple and convenient and fairly effective in treatment of some chronic diseases.展开更多

Eight male rats received the same operation, during which the root of one of the two seminal vesicles was partly ligatured with sutures and the other vesicle was left in tact. The samples of seminal vesicles were harvested on the 8th day followi ng the operation. Hematoxylin and eosi n and Mass on's trichrome stains were used to observe the histopathology and the presenee of fibrous tissue in seminal vesicles, respectively. Immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry were applied to determine the tumor n ecrosis factor-alpha and cyclooxygenase-2 levels in semi nal vesicle tissues. Real-time fluoresce nee qua ntitative polymerase chain reaction was performed to measure the gene expression levels of proinflammatory cytokines. H2O2 levels in the seminal plasma from the seminal vesicle were also measured. Hematoxylin and eosin staining suggested that there was inflammatory cell in filtration into the semi nal vesicles treated by partial root ligati on. The tumor n ecrosis factor-alpha and cyclooxygenase-2 proteins were significantly upregulated in the treated seminal vesicles. The tumor necrosis factor-alpha, cyclooxygenase, interleukin 6, and inducible nitric oxide synthase mRNA expression levels were also upregulated in the treated seminal vesicles. The H2O2 levels in the seminal plasma from seminal vesicles with partial root ligation were significantly elevated compared with those from vesicle left intact. In conclusion, partially ligating the root of the seminal vesicle via sutures in rats is an effective method to establish a seminal vesiculitis rat model.展开更多
