The discharge is primarily relevant to the direct discharge coefficient of each sector of the economy, its direct input coefficient and the final demand in input-output models. In this study, we calculated the sensitivity of the reduction in the Chinese industrial wastewater discharge using the direct input coefficients based on the theory of error-transmission in an input-output framework. Using input-output models, we calculated the direct and total industrial wastewater discharge coefficients. Analysis of 2007 input-output data of 30 sectors of the Chinese economy and of 30 provincial regions of China indicates that by lowering their direct input coefficients, the manufacturers of textiles, paper and paper products, chemical products, smelting and metal pressing, telecommunication equipment, computers and other electronic equipment will significantly reduce their amounts of industrial wastewater discharge. By lowering intra-provincial direct input coefficients to industrial sectors themselves of Jiangsu, Shandong and Zhejiang, there will be a significant reduction in industrial wastewater discharge for the country as a whole. Investment in production technology and improvement in organizational efficiency in these sectors and in these provinces can help lessen the direct input coefficients, thereby effectively achieving a reduction in industrial wastewater discharge in China via industrial restructuring.展开更多

The process was then simulated with a three-dimensional numerical model. The plane or line patch was used to impose the discharge momentum flux in the near field. A comparison of model simulation with laboratory experiments shows that the proposed model can be used to simulate the shapes of pollution plumes, the distributions of excess concentration, and the velocity induced by a coflowing diffuser in proximity to a shoreline boundary. From the numerical simulation and laboratory experiments, it is recommended that the multiport diffuser be placed in a hydrodynamically active sea-area.展开更多

In this paper, the current conditions of the municipal wastewater structure in the industrial sectors are analysed and discussed in terms of the indicators, such as direct wastewater\|discharge coefficient, complete wastewater\|discharge coefficient, direct discharge coefficient of COD and complete discharge coefficient of COD, by taking a year of 1990s as the base year. Some countermeasures are studied and the corresponding recommendations are put forward in order to improve the water environment in Beijing. This provides a scientific ground for coordinating the relationship between the aquatic environment and economic growth in this city.展开更多

The results should that the major pollutants are from domestic sewage it is expected scientific suggestions be proposed on water quality in our country.展开更多

When the treating system operates umder an optimal control conditions, such as a 55% loading rate, an illumination intensity of 2500-3500 lux and a hydraulic residence time of 4 hours, the COD and ammonia nitrogen removal can reach 90%. Water after deep treatment can comply with the requirement of the refinery for the quality of recycled water.展开更多

This numerical model is composed of a 2-D depth-averaged dynamic far-field numerical model and a 2-D vertical dynamic near-field numerical model. The former uses finite node method to compute velocity, and improved finite node method to compute pollutant concentration distribution; the latter is a k-e turbulence model, and uses SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equations) method to compute velocity. At the same time, the former provides boundary conditions for the latter. This model can simulate both far- field pollutant concentration distribution and near-field vertical recirculation quickly and precisely. This model has been verified by measured data of pollutant F of the Dachang reach of the Changjing River and test data presented by Chen el al. (1992). On the basis of verification, the authors use a designed hydrograph to compute this mixing area for a certain amount of wastewater discharging into the river.展开更多

The results show that the direct and total industrial wastewater discharge coeffcients of most of the provincial industrial sectors in China's Eastern region are lower than those of the whole country. Both backward and forward linkages of fixed-asset occupancy in industrial sectors in China's Central and Western regions are strong. The dissimilarity of cross-sectional data of the relevant industrial wastewater discharge coeffcients and linkages in multi-regional input-output analysis becomes bigger as regions are divided more extensively.展开更多

This model is a k-εturbulent model. The semi-implicit method for pressure-linked equations is used to solve all the governing equations, which are discretized by control volume method. The model has been tested by water channel experiments. On this basis, the designed hydrological condition for one plan of wastewater of the Dachang district discharging into the Changjiang River has been obtained by this model.展开更多
