The principle of the proposed algorithm is described theoretically, and the correction on each point along the entire fiber is realized. Temperature simulation results validate that the temperature distortion is corrected and the temperature accuracy is effectively improved from +5 ℃ to ±1 ℃.展开更多

The charac- teristics of birefringence, dispersion and nonlinearity are studied by using the full-vector finite element method (FVFEM). The numerical results show that the phase birefringence and nonlinear coefficient of PCF can be up to 4.51× 10-3 and 32.8972 w-l.km-1 at 1.55 μm, respectively. The proposed PCF could be found to have important applications in the polarization-dependent nonlinear optics such as the pulse compress and reshaping in the C waveband.展开更多

Interestingly, the spectral range and flatness can be flexibly tuned by adjusting the SS value. When the SS coefficient increases, the energy between solitons and dispersion waves is redistributed, and the red-shifted soliton forms earlier in the region of long wavelength anomalous dispersion. As a consequence, the SST becomes more obvious. The findings of this work provide interesting insights in regard to the impact of the SST effect on tailored supercontinuum generation.展开更多
We demonstrate an adjustable pure dispersion slope compensating-module based on strain-chirped fiber Bragg gratings. The center wavelength of the module is preserved while the pure dispersion slope is tuned.

This kind of LPFGs is different from that based on the coupling of core mode to a lower order cladding mode because of the effect of the coupling of core mode to EH cladding mode. When the cladding mode order is higher, the coupling coefficients of core mode to HE and EH cladding modes are comparable and both of the propagation constants of HE and EH cladding modes approach, so the spectrum has an additional loss peak. The bandwidth of LPFG based on the coupling of core mode to different cladding mode differs greatly. With the change of the mode orders from lower to higher, the transmission spectrum changes from narrow to wide and more narrow.展开更多
