This structure aimed at high precision applications. A precision improved distributed algorithms (DA) had been proposed. Comparing with traditional DA implementations, the new DA had higher precision while preserves smaller area. The proposed structure was verified in Spartan-6 field programmable gate array (FPGA) and achieved 200 MHz operation frequency. The peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) of reconstructed image (Lena) achieves 74 dB which is very high comparing with other implementations. 展开更多

First, an optimal filter bank is de... A new approach for designing the Biorthogonal Wavelet Filter Bank (BWFB) for the purpose of image compression is presented in this letter. The approach is decomposed into two steps. First, an optimal filter bank is designed in theoretical sense based on Vaidyanathan’s coding gain criterion in SubBand Coding (SBC) system. Then the above filter bank is optimized based on the criterion of Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) in JPEG2000 image compression system, resulting in a BWFB in practical application sense. With the approach, a series of BWFB for a specific class of applications related to image compression, such as remote sensing images, can be fast designed. Here, new 5/3 BWFB and 9/7 BWFB are presented based on the above approach for the remote sensing image compression applications. Experiments show that the two filter banks are equally performed with respect to CDF 9/7 and LT 5/3 filter in JPEG2000 standard; at the same time, the coefficients and the lifting parameters of the lifting scheme are all rational, which bring the computational advantage, and the ease for VLSI implementation. 展开更多

Detecting surface geostrophic currents using wavelet filter from satellite geodesy 被引量:4

According to the features of spatial spectrum of the dynamic ocean topography (DOT),wavelet filter is proposed to reduce short-wavelength and noise signals in DOT. The surface geostrophic currents calculated from the DOT models filtered by wavelet filter in global and Kuroshio regions show more detailed information than those from the DOT models filtered by Gaussian filter. Based on a satellite gravity field model (CG01C) and a gravity field model (EGM96),combining an altimetry-derived mean sea surface height model (KMSS04),two mean DOT models are estimated. The short-wavelength and noise signals of these two DOT models are removed by using wavelet filter,and the DOT models asso-ciated global mean surface geostrophic current fields are calculated separately. Comparison of the surface geostrophic currents from CG01C and EGM96 model in global,Kuroshio and equatorial Pacific regions with that from oceanography,and comparison of influences of the two gravity models errors on the precision of the surface geostrophic currents velocity show that the accuracy of CG01C model has been greatly improved over pre-existing models at long wavelengths. At large and middle scale,the surface geostrophic current from satellite gravity and satellite altimetry agrees well with that from oceanography,which indicates that ocean currents detected by satellite measurement have reached relatively high precision. 展开更多

Harmonic wavelets not only possess the traditional advantages of a wavelet function,they also have other merits such as clear expressions,more flexible time-frequency divisions,a simple transformation algorithm,a finer box-like frequency spectrum and others.Given the frequency distribution characteristics of the nondestructive testing signals from a rockbolt support system and based on the discrete harmonic wavelet transformation theory,we have effectively abstracted signals from frequency ranges concerned by removing useless high and low frequency signals from the testing signals of the rockbolt support system and obtained filtered signals with a reconstruction algorithm of harmonic wavelets.Finally,we applied the harmonic wavelet transformation in filtering analog signals and measured response signals of rockbolts.The results indicate that harmonic wavelets also have excellent filtering characteristics. 展开更多

New generation superconducting gravimeters (SGs), which have been demonstrated to be better than the best seismometers STS-1 at frequencies below 1 mHz, can be accepted as the quietest vertical seismometers for observation of long-period earth free oscillations. Wavelet filtering with narrow band-pass frequency response as shown in this paper is very helpful in removing at- mospheric pressure effects from on gravity records in long-period seismic mode frequency bands. The processing of high quality SG records after the great Sumatra earthquake (Dec. 26, 2004) with wavelet filtering leads to clear observations of all coupled toroidal modes below 1.5 mHz except these for 0T5, 0T7 and 1T1; moreover 1T2 and 1T3 are, for the first time, unambiguously revealed in the vertical components of the free oscillations. The three well-resolved splitting singlets of overtones 2S1 are observed from a single SG record for the first time. 展开更多

In order to preferably identify infrared image of refuge chamber, reduce image noises of refuge chamber and retain more image details, we propose the method of combining two-dimensional discrete wavelet transform and bilateral denoising. First, the wavelet transform is adopted to decompose the image of refuge chamber, of which low frequency component remains unchanged. Then, three high-frequency components are treated by bilateral filtering, and the image is reconstructed. The result shows that the combination of bilateral filtering and wavelet transform for image denoising can better retain the details which are included in the image, while providing better visual effect. This is superior to using either bilateral filtering or wavelet transform alone. It is useful for perfecting emergency refuge system of coal mines. 展开更多

EMG record... Surface Electromyography (EMG) is a standard method used in clinical practice and research to assess motor function in order to help with the diagnosis of neuromuscular pathology in human and animal models. EMG recorded from trunk muscles involved in the activity of breathing can be used as a direct measure of respiratory motor function in patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) or other disorders associated with motor control deficits. However, EMG potentials recorded from these muscles are often contaminated with heart-induced electrocardiographic (ECG) signals. Elimination of these artifacts plays a critical role in the precise measure of the respiratory muscle electrical activity. This study was undertaken to find an optimal approach to eliminate the ECG artifacts from EMG recordings. Conventional global filtering can be used to decrease the ECG-induced artifact. However, this method can alter the EMG signal and changes physiologically relevant information. We hypothesize that, unlike global filtering, localized removal of ECG artifacts will not change the original EMG signals. We develop an approach to remove the ECG artifacts without altering the amplitude and frequency components of the EMG signal by using an externally recorded ECG signal as a mask to locate areas of the ECG spikes within EMG data. These segments containing ECG spikes were decomposed into 128 sub-wavelets by a custom-scaled Morlet Wavelet Transform. The ECG-related subwavelets at the ECG spike location were removed and a de-noised EMG signal was reconstructed. Validity of the proposed method was proven using mathematical simulated synthetic signals and EMG obtained from SCI patients. We compare the Rootmean Square Error and the Relative Change in Variance between this method, global, notch and adaptive filters. The results show that the localized wavelet-based filtering has the benefit of not introducing error in the native EMG signal and accurately removing ECG artifacts from EMG signals. 展开更多

In order to improve the acquisition probability of satellite navigation signals, this paper proposes a novel code acquisition method based on wavelet transform filtering. Firstly, the signal vector based on the signal passing through a set of partial matched filters(PMFs) is built. Then, wavelet domain filtering is performed on the signal vector value. Since the correlation signal is low in frequency and narrow in bandwidth, the noise out-of-band can be filtered out and the most of the useful signal energy is retained.Thus this process greatly improves the signal to noise ratio(SNR).Finally, the detection variable when the filtered signal goes through the combination process is constructed and the detection based on signal energy is made. Moreover, for the better retaining useful signal energy, the rule of selection of wavelet function has been made. Simulation results show the proposed method has a better detection performance than the normal code acquisition methods under the same false alarm probability. 展开更多

In Wavelet Packets Based Multicarrier Multicode CDMA system, the multicode (MCD) part ensures the transmission for high speed and flexible data rate, the multicarrier (MC) part ensures the flexibility of handling multiple data rates, and wavelet packets modulation technique contributes to the mitigation of the interference problems. The CDMA system can suppress a given amount of interference. In this paper, the receiver employs suppression filter (SF) to mitigate the effect of narrow-band jammer interference and diversity techniques to reduce multiple access interference. The framework for the system and the performance evaluation are presented in terms of bit error rate (BER) over a Nakagami fading channel. Also, we investigate how the performance is influenced by various parameters, such as the number of taps of the SF, the ratio of narrow-band interference bandwidth to the spread-spectrum bandwidth, the diversity order, the fading parameter and so on. Finally, the performance of the system is compared with the performance Sinusoidal (Sin) based MC/MCD CDMA system. 展开更多

采用KZ滤波法、多元逐步回归法和小波相干性分析法,从不同时间尺度探究了唐山市2015~2022年间PM_(2.5)、PM_(10)和O_(3)的演变特征,并有效区分和定量估算了污染源排放和气象因素对污染物浓度的贡献,揭示了气象因素对污染物不同尺度的影... 采用KZ滤波法、多元逐步回归法和小波相干性分析法,从不同时间尺度探究了唐山市2015~2022年间PM_(2.5)、PM_(10)和O_(3)的演变特征,并有效区分和定量估算了污染源排放和气象因素对污染物浓度的贡献,揭示了气象因素对污染物不同尺度的影响,以及颗粒物和O_(3)之间的协同作用机制.结果表明:研究期间唐山市颗粒物PM_(2.5)和PM_(10)的浓度长期分量均呈现显著下降趋势,季节分量和短期分量均呈现不同程度的周期波动.O_(3)浓度长期分量变化幅度较小,其季节分量和短期分量均在每年5~7月之间有明显变化趋势.颗粒物PM_(2.5)和PM_(10)浓度的长期分量变化主要由源排放因素控制,且源排放贡献占90%以上,而O_(3)浓度的长期分量变化则由源排放和气象因素共同控制,且其贡献比例约为2:3.气象因素温度、相对湿度、地表垂直风速和降水量对PM_(2.5)主要表现为小时间尺度的正向作用和大时间尺度的负向作用.温度和短波辐射强度对O_(3)主要呈正向影响,而PM_(2.5)、PM_(10)和O_(3)之间存在小时间尺度的正向影响和大时间尺度的负向作用. 展开更多
