For a course of starting and operating of turbo-plants, downstream face of the dam was monitored in relation to its eventual displacements on direction parallel to the construction axis. For the purpose of the experiment, geodetic measurement techniques and 2D DIC (digital image correlation) method (utilizing photographs of the object recorded with digital camera) were compared with regard to credibility, efficiency and accuracy. The vertical and horizontal displacements were monitored by tachometers measurements. The deformations in x-axis and y-axis on the wall surface was monitored by 2D DIC. It has been noticed that 2D DIC method is a surface method, continuous--not discreet. It allows for continuous observations of surface deformations, which is not possible in case of tachemetric measurements. Despite many advantages, the 2D DIC method lacks unambiguous evaluation of precision and relevance of designated displacements, which is rather significant for possibilities of utilization in technical control of large engineered objects. It should be also marked that the tachometric method is more reliable but is more laborious. Research of this type might comprise additional element for the assessment of the influence of dynamic loads, such as activating turbine water flow, onto the overall condition of the surveyed structure.展开更多

Nowadays, most commercial DIC systems employ local DIC algorithm because of its advantages of straight forward principle and higher efficiency. However, several researchers argue that global DIC can provide better displacement results due to the displacement continuity constraint among adjacent elements. As such, thoroughly examining the performance of these two different DIC methods seems to be highly necessary. Here, the random errors associated with local DIC and two global DIC methods are theoretically analyzed at first. Subsequently, based on the same algorithmic details and parameters during analyses of numerical and real experiments, the performance of the different DIC approaches is fairly compared. Theoretical and experimental results reveal that local DIC outperforms its global counterpart in terms of both displacement results and computational efficiency when element (subset) size is no less than 11 pixels.展开更多

Although the precision of digital image correlation (DIC) has been thoroughly studied theoretically and numerically, verification experiments have seldom been performed, especially fbr complex surfaces with a small field of view (FOV). In this work, the shape of a 1-yuan coin was measured using 3D-DIC; the shape was complex due to the presence of many fine details, and the FOV was relatively small because the coin diameter was only 25 mm. During the experiment, a novel strategy for speckle production was developed: white paint was simply sprayed onto the surface. Black paint was not used; instead, taking advantage of the reflective nature of the coin surface, polarized light and a Polaroid filter were introduced, and the polarization direction was carefully adjusted, ensuring that the spray pattern was extremely thin and that high-quality speckle images with significant contrast were captured. The three-dimensional coin shape was also successfully determined for comparison using a stylus profiler. The results demonstrate that 3D-DIC provides high precision in shape measurement even for complex surfaces with small FOV. The precision of 3D-DIC can reach 1/7000 of the field of view, corresponding to about 6 ~tm in this experiment.展开更多

Firstly, an integrative software is programmed based on the DIC algorithms and pointwise least-squares fitting technique. Then, simulated speckle images are generated to study the computational accuracy of this software. The experimental setup and procedures for measuring in-situ dynamic strain through both DIC and strain gauge are proposed. The DIC results are close to those measured by strain gauge. This fact reveals that DIC is a practical and effective tool for in-situ dynamic strain measurement. Finally, the full-field in-situ dynamic strain of another specimen is measured by DIC, and the overall distribution of the strain in the measurement area is clearly shown.展开更多

Aiming at relevant demand, the bilateral telecentric-multispectral imaging system was established, the research of synchronous measurement technique of the temperature and deformation fields was developed. On the one hand, the measurement technology for surface temperature of the object was developed using the two-color images captured by the multispectral camera with bilateral telecentric lens and combined with colorimetric method. On the other hand, the 2 D-DIC measurement technique of the multispectral camera was developed by conducting digital image correlation analysis using the blue light images before and after deformation, which can measure the high temperature deformation field of the object(the blue light images were filtered by multispectral camera). Results showed that the bilateral telecentric lens is used to replace the ordinary optical lens for imaging, which can effectively eliminate the distortion of the multispectral imaging system. Since the temperature measurement process of this measurement system is little affected by the emissivity of the object, therefore, it has excellent robustness. The thermal expansion coefficients of the nickel alloys are evaluated at the temperature ranges of 700–1000℃, indicating this system can achieve the synchronous and precise measurement of the temperature and deformation fields of the object.展开更多

Making use ofa bi-prism, this method is able to perform a 3D DIC measurement using only a single camera. Thus, the integration level of a BSL 3D DIC system could be much higher than that of the double-camera 3D DIC system. In this paper, using a small-angle bi-prism and a camera with a longer focal length, a special BSL 3D DIC system with a long working distance is designed for measurements in extreme environments. The principle of the system is first studied, and practical methods are then proposed for the system set-up and the determination of system parameters. Then, feasibility of the measurement system is verified by out-of-plane rigid-body translation tests. Finally, the BSL 3D DIC system is proven to be capable of combining with a high-temperature testing instrument to perform deformation tests in a high-temperature environment of up to 1500℃.展开更多

In recent years, fluorescent imaging technique has been introduced for illumination, surface deformation and topography measurements with applications on various materials including biomaterials (biofilms, etc.) at the microscale. Traditional imaging, with the use of white light, encounters technical issues such as specular reflection owing to moisture or smooth shiny surfaces (e.g., metallic or glass surfaces). As an altemative to white light, fluorescent imaging serves as a solution to resolve the issues of specular reflection. Fluorescent DIC techniques, especially the fluorescent stereo DIC, allow 3D surface profilometry and deformation measurements at the microscale and submicron scale. Fluorescent stereo imaging under a microscope utilizes emission wavelengths that are different from illumination wavelengths to ensure clear images on any surface that might give reflections at certain angles when white light is used, allowing accurate metrology and deformation measurement. In addition microscopic fluorescent imaging provides nanoscale resolutions surpassing Abbe's diffraction limit. This paper provides a review of the recent advances in fluorescent DIC.展开更多

文摘The hot-section parts easily occur the creep-fatigued interaction under the condition of mechanicalthermal coupled load during the period of service, which may lead to the damage of the parts, and therefore, the measurement and characterization of thermal-deformed fields of the parts are important to understand its damage process. The thermal expansion coefficients of the nickel alloys are evaluated at the temperature ranges of 700–1000℃, indicating this system can achieve the synchronous and precise measurement of the temperature and deformation fields of the object.

文摘In this paper,we introduce an accelerating algorithm based on the Taylor series for reconstructing target images in the spectral digital image correlation method(SDIC).The Taylor series image reconstruction method is employed instead of the previous direct Fourier transform(DFT)image reconstruction method, which consumes the majority of the computational time for target image reconstruction. The partial derivatives in the Taylor series are computed using the fast Fourier transform(FFT)of the entire image, following the principles of Fourier transform theory. To examine the impact of different orders of Taylor series expansion on accuracy and efficiency,we employ third-and fourth-order Taylor series image reconstruction methods and compare them with the DFT image reconstruction method through simulated experiments. As a result of these enhancements, the computational efficiency using the third-and fourth-order Taylor series improves by factors of 57 and 46,respectively,compared to the previous method. In terms of analysis accuracy, within a strain range of 0–0.1 and without the addition of image noise, the accuracy of the proposed method increases with higher expansion orders, surpassing that of the DFT image reconstruction method when the fourth order is utilized. However, when different levels of Gaussian noise are applied to simulated images individually, the accuracy of the third-or fourth-order Taylor series expansion method is superior to that of the DFT reconstruction method. Finally,we present the analyzed experimental results of a silicone rubber plate specimen with bilateral cracks under uniaxial tension.
文摘t LBS (location-based service) is a remarkable outcome of the development from GIS to geospatial information service. Faced by the requirements of geospatial information from the masses and the opportunity provided by the next generation lnternet and Web 2.0, a new model of geospatial information service based on DMI (digital measurable image) is presented. First, the con- cept of LBS and the opportunities of Web 2.0 are introduced, then the characteristic of DMI is discussed. Taking the Image City.Wuhan as an example, the function ofgeospatial information service based on DM! is introduced. Finally, the feasibility for its industrialization is discussed.

文摘As a novel three dimensional digital image correlation (3D DIC) method, the bi-prism-based single lens (BSL) 3D DIC method has been proposed and developed in recent years. Finally, the BSL 3D DIC system is proven to be capable of combining with a high-temperature testing instrument to perform deformation tests in a high-temperature environment of up to 1500℃.

文摘White light has often been used for surface illumination to acquire images for digital image correlation (DIC) analysis. This paper provides a review of the recent advances in fluorescent DIC.
