Methods One hundred and seven cases of windstroke were randomized into acupoint application with puncture group （55 cases） and puncture group （52 cases）. The total effective rate, the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale （NIHSS） scores, Barthel index score and recurrence rates within one year were observed before and after treatment in two groups. Results The total effective rate was 81.8% in acupoint application with puncture group and 44.2% in puncture group, with statistical significant difference （P〈0 01） ; the significant differences were presented statistically in comparison of NIHSS and Barthel between the two groups after treatment, and in both groups before and after treatment （P〈0.01）, and presented as well in comparison of recurrence rates within one year between the two groups （P〈0.05）. Conclusion Weight intervention helps to not only recover the function of affected extremities, but also probably be good for reducing recurrence rate of windstroke.展开更多
