Its successful surgical management is still challenging and gratifying for neurosurgeons. Several technics have been described such as wiring, trans articular screwing, C1C2 screwing with plate and screw introduced by Goel et al., and modified by insertion of polyaxially screw and rod many years later by Harms. Unavailability and expensiveness of upper cervical spine instrumentation device led us to C1C2 Wiring resulting in a good outcome. Finally, a quadriplegic patient with a more comfortable financial condition had ordered devices from abroad and benefit for Goel and Harms screwing technique and improved dramatically from ASIA A to ASIA E. Material and methods: This is a retrospective study of patients managed in our department by a same neurosurgeon from January 2019 to April 2024. Results: We defined 6 men and 1 woman with an average age of 33 years. Unrestrained driver in a rollover motor vehicle accident was most common. Only one patient was neurologically intact on admission. Neurovegetative disorders were noticed in one patient. Dislocation was associated to a fracture of the dens in two patients. Three patients have been successfully operated with remarkable outcome, mostly from ASIA A to E. Conclusion: C1C2 dislocation is a serious condition and C1C2 Wiring represents an effective and cheaper technic. Therefore, this technic should deserve consideration above all in low incomes countries when screwing devices are not available. Seatbelt should be demanded for motor vehicle drivers and passengers.展开更多

This imposes a reevaluation of the drawing procedure for constructing field curves with a constant field values around multiple parallel electrical conducting wires. To achieve this, we employ methods akin to those used for creating contours on topographical maps, ensuring a consistent numerical field value along the entire length of the field curves. Subsequent calculations will be conducted for scenarios where wires are not parallel.展开更多

This work proposed that a synergistic enhancement of strength and ductility could be achieved through tuning interlayer dwell time(IDT) in the wire and arc additive manufacturing(WAAM) process of Mg alloy. The thermal couples were used to monitor the thermal history during the WAAM process. Additionally, the effect of different IDTs on the microstructure characteristics and resultant mechanical properties of WAAM-processed Mg alloy thin-wall were investigated. The results showed that the stable temperature of the thin-wall component could reach 290 ℃ at IDT=0s, indicating that the thermal accumulation effect was remarkable. Consequently, unimodal coarse grains with an average size of 39.6 μm were generated, and the resultant room-temperature tensile property was poor. With the IDT extended to 60s, the thermal input and thermal dissipation reached a balance, and the stable temperature was only 170 ℃, closing to the initial temperature of the substrate. A refined grain structure with bimodal size distribution was obtained. The remelting zone had fine grains with the size of 15.2 μm, while the arc zone owned coarse grains with the size of 24.5 μm.The alternatively distributed coarse and fine grains lead to the elimination of strength-ductility trade-off. The ultimate tensile strength and elongation of the samples at IDT=60s are increased by 20.6 and 75.0% of those samples at IDT=0s, respectively. The findings will facilitate the development of additive manufacturing processes for advanced Mg alloys.展开更多

文摘Non-destructive detection of wire bonding defects in integrated circuits(IC)is critical for ensuring product quality after packaging.Image-processing-based methods do not provide a detailed evaluation of the three-dimensional defects of the bonding wire. Therefore,a method of 3D reconstruction and pattern recognition of wire defects based on stereo vision, which can achieve non-destructive detection of bonding wire defects is proposed. The contour features of bonding wires and other electronic components in the depth image is analysed to complete the 3D reconstruction of the bonding wires.Especially to filter the noisy point cloud and obtain an accurate point cloud of the bonding wire surface,a point cloud segmentation method based on spatial surface feature detection(SFD)was proposed.SFD can extract more distinct features from the bonding wire surface during the point cloud segmentation process.Furthermore,in the defect detection process,a directional discretisation descriptor with multiple local normal vectors is designed for defect pattern recognition of bonding wires. The descriptor combines local and global features of wire and can describe the spatial variation trends and structural features of wires. The experimental results show that the method can complete the 3D reconstruction and defect pattern recognition of bonding wires, and the average accuracy of defect recognition is 96.47%,which meets the production requirements of bonding wire defect detection.

文摘Cold Metal Transfer-Based Wire Arc Directed Energy Deposition(CMT-WA-DED)presents a promising avenue for the rapid fabrication of components crucial to automotive, shipbuilding, and aerospace industries. However, the susceptibility to fatigue of CMT-WA-DED-produced AZ31 Mg alloy components has impeded their widespread adoption for critical load-bearing applications. In this study,a comprehensive investigation into the fatigue behaviour of WA-DED-fabricated AZ31 Mg alloy has been carried out and compared to commercially available wrought AZ31 alloy. Our findings indicate that the as-deposited parts exhibit a lower fatigue life than wrought Mg alloy, primarily due to poor surface finish, tensile residual stress, porosity, and coarse grain microstructure inherent in the WA-DED process.Low Plasticity Burnishing(LPB)treatment is applied to mitigate these issues, which induce significant plastic deformation on the surface. This treatment resulted in a remarkable improvement of fatigue life by 42%,accompanied by a reduction in surface roughness, grain refinement and enhancement of compressive residual stress levels.Furthermore, during cyclic deformation,WA-DED specimens exhibited higher plasticity and dislocation density compared to both wrought and WA-DED+LPB specimens.A higher fraction of Low Angle Grain Boundaries(LAGBs)in WA-DED specimens contributed to multiple crack initiation sites and convoluted crack paths, ultimately leading to premature failure. In contrast, wrought and WA-DED+LPB specimens displayed a higher percentage of High Angle Grain Boundaries(HAGBs),which hindered dislocation movement and resulted in fewer crack initiation sites and less complex crack paths, thereby extending fatigue life. These findings underscore the effectiveness of LPB as a post-processing technique to enhance the fatigue performance of WA-DED-fabricated AZ31 Mg alloy components. Our study highlights the importance of LPB surface treatment on AZ31 Mg components produced by CMT-WA-DED to remove surface defects, enabling their widespread use in load-bearing applications.
文摘Objectives: Atlantoaxial dislocation remains a rare and serious condition with a high preoperative and postoperative morbidity and mortality. Seatbelt should be demanded for motor vehicle drivers and passengers.
文摘Building on a new model proposed recently for calculating constant electro-magnetic field values, the present article explores the electro-magnetic field configuration generated by parallel electrical wires. Subsequent calculations will be conducted for scenarios where wires are not parallel.

文摘Additive manufacturing(AM)of Mg alloys has become a promising strategy for producing complex structures, but the corrosion performance of AM Mg components remains unexploited. In this study, wire and arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)was employed to produce single AZ31 layer. The results revealed that the WAAM AZ31 was characterized by significant grain refinement with non-textured crystallographic orientation, similar phase composition and stabilized corrosion performance comparing to the cast AZ31.These varied corrosion behaviors were principally ascribed to the size of grain, where cast AZ31 and WAAM AZ31 were featured by micro galvanic corrosion and intergranular corrosion, respectively.

文摘Strength-ductility trade-off is a common issue in Mg alloys. The findings will facilitate the development of additive manufacturing processes for advanced Mg alloys.

文摘Based on wire arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)technology,AZ31 magnesium alloy in bulk was successfully fabricated, and its microstructure as well as mechanical properties in different planes were observed and analyzed. The AZ31 magnesium alloy has a similar microstructure in the building direction(Z)and travel direction(X),both of which are equiaxed grains. There are heat-affected zones(HAZs)with coarse grains below the fusion line. The second phase is primarily composed of the Mg17Al12 phase, which is evenly distributed in different directions. In addition, the residual stress varies in different directions. There is no significant difference in the hardness of the AZ31 alloy along the Z and X directions, with the average hardness being 68.4 HV and 67.9 HV,respectively.Even though the specimens’ultimate tensile strength along the travel direction is higher in comparison to that along the building direction, their differences in elongation and yield strength are smaller, indicating that the anisotropy of the mechanical properties of the material is small.
文摘To study the evolution of nanoparticles during Al wire electrical explosion,a nanoparticle formation model that considered layered motion was developed, and an experimental system was set up to carry out electrical explosion experiments using 0.1 mm and 0.2 mm Al wires. The characteristic parameters and evolution process during the formation of nanoparticles were calculated and analyzed. The results show that the maximum velocities of the innermost and outermost layers are about 1200 m·s-1and 1600 m·s-1,and the velocity of the middle layer is about 1400 m·s-1,respectively.Most of the nanoparticles are formed in the temperature range of2600 K-2500 K.The characteristic temperature for the formation of Al nanoparticles is~2520K,which is also the characteristic temperature of other parameters. The size distribution range of the formed nanoparticles is 18 to 110 nm,and most of them are around 22 nm.The variation of saturated vapor pressure determines the temperature distribution range of particle nucleation. There is a minimum critical diameter of particles(~25 nm);particles smaller than the critical diameter can grow into larger particles during surface growth.Particle motion has an effect on the surface growth and aggregation process of particles, and also on the distribution area of larger-diameter particles. The simulation results are in good agreement with the experiments. We provide a method to estimate the size and distribution of nanoparticles, which is of great significance to understand the formation process of particles during the evolution of wire electrical explosion.

文摘Composite materials exhibit the impressive mechanical properties of high damping and stiffness, which cannot be attained by employing conventional single materials.Along these lines,a novel material architecture is presented in this work in order to fabricate composites with enhanced mechanical characteristics.More specifically, entangled metallic wire materials were used as the active matrix, whereas polyurethane was employed as the reinforcement elements. As a result,an entangled metallic wire material-polyurethane composite with high damping and stiffness was prepared by enforcing the vacuum infiltration method. On top of that, the mechanical properties(loss factor, energy consumption, and average stiffness)of the proposed composite materials were characterized by performing dynamic tests, and its fatigue characteristics were verified by the micro-interface bonding,as well as the macro-damage factor. The impact of the density, preloading spacing, loading amplitude, and exciting frequency on the mechanical properties of the composites were also thoroughly analyzed. The extracted results indicate that the mechanical properties of the composites were significantly enhanced than those of the pure materials due to the introduction of interface friction. Moreover, the average stiffness of the composites was about 10 times the respective value of the entangled metallic wire material.Interestingly,a rise in the loading period leads to some failure between the composite interfaces, which reduces the stiffness property but enhances the damping dissipation properties. Finally,a comprehensive dynamic mechanical model of the composites was established, while it was experimentally verified. The proposed composites possess higher damping features,i.e.,stiffness characteristics, and maintain better fatigue characteristics, which can broaden the application range of the composites. In addition,we provide a theoretical and experimental framework for the research and applications in the field of metal matrix composites.
文摘A theoretical study based on the Penalty factor(PF)method by Cavallini et al.is conducted to show that the pressure drop occurring in a wire-on-tube heat exchanger can be converted into a temperature difference for two types of refrigerants R-134a and R-600a typically used for charging refrigerators and freezers. The following conditions are considered:stratified or stratified-wavyflow condensation occurring inside the smooth tube of a wire-on-tube condenser with diameter 3.25,4.83,and 6.299 mm,condensation temperatures 35℃,45℃,and 54.4℃ and cover refrigerant massflow rate spanning the interval from 1 to 7 kg/hr.The results show that the PF variation is not linear with vapor quality and attains a maximum when the vapor quality is 0.2 and 0.18 for the R-134a and R-600a refrigerants, respectively. The PF increases with the refrigerant massflow rate if the inner diameter and saturation temperature constant, and it decreases on increasing the inner diameter to 6.299 mm for constant refrigerant massflow rate and saturation temperature. The PF for R-600a is higher than that for R-134a due to the lower saturation pressure in thefirst case.Furthermore,a stratifiedflow produces higher PF in comparison to the annularflow due to the effect of the surface tension.

文摘We focused on Ti/Al composite materials fabricated by wire and arc addictive manufacturing, and the microstructure and interface characteristics of them before and after hot compression deformation were compared. After compression deformation, allαstructures of titanium were compacted with the emergence of Widmanstatten structures.Coarsened coloniesαof titanium were elongated and waved along the original growth direction, resulting in anisotropy of grains.Pores and Ti/Al intermetallic compounds of aluminum are significantly decreased after hot compression.Meanwhile,a good bonding interface between titanium and aluminum is obtained after hot compression, and the element diffusion is more intense. In addition, the mechanical properties and fracture behaviors of Ti/Al composite material with different clad ratio that is defined as the ratio of the thickness of titanium to that of the Ti/Al composite material are investigated by uniaxial tensile test. The experimental results show that the ultimate tensile strength of Ti/Al composite material is between that of single deposited titanium and aluminum, while the elongation of Ti/Al composite material with low clad ratio is lower than that of single aluminum due to the metallurgical reaction. As the clad ratio increases, the two component layers are harder to separate during deformation, which is resulted from the decrease of the inward contraction stress of three-dimensional stress caused by necking of aluminum. This work may promote the engineering application of Ti/Al bimetallic structures.

文摘To improve the defense capability of military equipment under extreme conditions,impact-resistant and high-energy-consuming materials have to be developed. The damping characteristic of entangled porous metallic wire materials(EPMWM)for vibration isolation was previously investigated. In this paper,a study focusing on the impact-resistance of EPMWM with the consideration of ambient temperature is presented. The quasi-static and low-velocity impact mechanical behavior of EPMWM under different temperatures(25℃-300℃)are systematically studied. The results of the static compression test show that the damping energy dissipation of EPMWM increases with temperature while the nonlinear damping characteristics are gradually enhanced.During the impact experiments, the impact energy loss rate of EPMWM was between 65%and 85%,while the temperatures increased from 25℃to 300℃.Moreover,under the same drop impact conditions, the overall deformation of EPMWM decreases in the temperature range of 100℃-200℃.On the other hand, the impact stiffness, energy dissipation, and impact loss factor of EPMWM significantly increase with temperature. This can be attributed to an increase in temperature, which changes the thermal expansion coefficient and contact state of the internal wire helixes.Consequently, the energy dissipation mode(dry friction, air damping, and plastic deformation)of EPMWM is also altered. Therefore, the EPMWM may act as a potential candidate material for superior energy absorption applications.

文摘Entangled porous metallic wire material(EPMWM)has the potential as a thermal insulation material in defence and engineering. In order to optimize its thermophysical properties at the design stage,it is of great significance to reveal the thermal response mechanism of EPMWM based on its complex structural effects. In the present work, virtual manufacturing technology(VMT)was developed to restore the physics-based 3D model of EPMWM.On this basis, the transient thermal analysis is carried out to explore the contact-relevant thermal behavior of EPMWM,and then the spiral unit containing unique structural information are further extracted and counted. In particular, the thermal resistance network is numerically constructed based on the spiral unit through the thermoelectric analogy method to accurately predict the effective thermal conductivity(ETC)of EPMWM.Finally, the thermal diffusivity and specific heat of the samples were obtained by the laser thermal analyzer to calculate the ETC and thermal insulation factor of interest. The results show that the ETC of EPMWM increases with increasing temperature or reducing density under the experimental conditions. The numerical prediction is consistent with the experimental result and the average error is less than 4%.

文摘With a high energy efficiency, low geometric limitation, and low cracking susceptivity to cracks, wire arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)has become an ideal substitute for casting in the manufacturing of load-bearing high strength aluminum components in aerospace industry.Recently,in scientific researches, the room temperature mechanical performance of additive manufactured high strength aluminum alloys has been continuously broken through, and proves these alloys can achieve comparable or even higher properties than the forged counterpart.Since the aluminum components for aerospace usage experience high-low temperature cycling due to the absence of atmosphere protection, the high temperature performances of additive manufactured high strength aluminum alloys are also important. However, few research focuses on that.A special 2319Ag Sc with 0.4 wt.%Ag and 0.2 wt.%Sc addition designed for high temperature application is deposited successfully via cold metal transfer(CMT)based on WAAM.The microstructures and high temperature tensile properties are investigated. The results show that the as-deposited 2319Ag Sc alloy presents an alternate distribution of columnar grains and equiaxed grains with no significant textures.Main second phases are Al_(2)Cu and Al3Sc,while co-growth of Al_(2)Cu and bulk Al_(3)Sc is found on the grain boundary.During manufacturing, nanoscale Al_(2)Cu can precipitate out from the matrix.Ag and Mg form nano-scaleΩphase on the Al_(2)Cu precipitates. At 260℃,average yield strengths in the horizontal direction and vertical direction are 87 MPa±2 MPa,87 MPa±4 MPa,while average ultimate tensile strengths are 140 MPa±7 MPa,141 MPa±11 MPa,and average elongations are 11.0%±2.5%,13.5%±3.0%.Anisotropy in different directions is weak.
