The buoyancy of groundwater can reduce the foundation bearing capa-city and cause the metro tunnels to float as a whole,which threatens the safety of structures seriously.Therefore,uplift piles are set up to improve t...The buoyancy of groundwater can reduce the foundation bearing capa-city and cause the metro tunnels to float as a whole,which threatens the safety of structures seriously.Therefore,uplift piles are set up to improve the structural sta-bility.In this paper,FLAC3D software is used to establish the calculation models of pile foundation.The bearing failure process of uplift piles was simulated to study the influencing factors on single pile load bearing capacity as well as the cooperative work laws of pile groups.The load-displacement curves of pile top under different length-diameter ratios,pile soil interface characteristics and pile types are obtained,respectively.The results showed that,increasing the length-diameter ratio and the pile-soil interface roughness properdly can improve the bear-ing capacity of uplift piles.Besides,changing the shapes of constant pile section can also improve it,which has the most significant effect concerning of saving material cost.In the loading process of pile groups,the ultimate bearing capacity of corner pile is the biggest,the side pile is the next,and the center pile is the smallest.The de formation characteristics of pile top are as follows:the center pile is the biggest,the side pile is the next,and comer pile is the smallest.Combined with the results,the uplift resistance of group piles can be enhanced pertinently,and the conclusions provide guidance for the design and construction of up lift piles in the actual engineer.展开更多

We also investigate the effect of the proposed control by experiment. As cooperative work, we deal with work in which two robots carry an object together. The robot position control using force information finely adjusts the position of the robot arm to reduce the force applied to the object. Thus, the purpose of the control is to avoid large force so that the object is not broken. In our experiment, we make a comparison among the following three cases in order to clarify how to carry out the control effectively. In the first case, the two robots are operated manually by a user with his/her both hands. In the second case, one robot is operated manually by a user, and the other robot is moved automatically under the proposed control. In the last case, the object is carried directly by a human instead of the robot which is operated by the user in the second case. As a result, experimental results demonstrate that the control can help each system operated manually by the user to carry the object smoothly.展开更多

Augmented reality superimposes digital information onto objects in the physical world and enables multi-user collaboration.Despite that previous proxemic interaction research has explored many applications of user-obj...Augmented reality superimposes digital information onto objects in the physical world and enables multi-user collaboration.Despite that previous proxemic interaction research has explored many applications of user-object distance and user-user distance in an augmented reality context,respectively,and combining both types of distance can improve the efficiency of users’perception and interaction with task objects and collaborators by providing userswith insight into spatial relations of user-task object and user-user,less is concerned about howthe two types of distances can be simultaneously adopted to assist collaboration tasks acrossmulti-users.To fulfill the gap,we present UOUU,the user-object distance and user-user distance combined method for dynamically assigning tasks across users.We conducted empirical studies to investigate how the method affected user collaboration tasks in terms of collaboration occurrence and overall task efficiency.The results show that the method significantly improves the speed and accuracy of the collaboration tasks as well as the frequencies of collaboration occurrences.The study also confirms the method’s effects on stimulating collaboration activities,as the UOUU method has effectively reduced the participants’perceived workload and the overall moving distances during the tasks.Implications for generalising the use of the method are discussed.展开更多

In th...The purpose is to study the seismic reduction effect of an isolated structure,with wind-resistant bearings( WRBs) setting on its isolation layer to withstand great wind load,and the working mechanism of the WRB. In this paper,two isolation models with /without WRBs,taking an actual engineering as the background,are established in the finite element software ETABS. The one with WRBs has horizontal damping coefficient less than 0. 40 while the other between 0. 40 and 0. 53. WRBs are simulated by Plastic 1element and the collaborative work between them and isolation layer is described by a mechanical model. Time history analysis is conducted on the models to compare their responses under earthquake excitations. Results show that the one with WRBs,but less lead-rubber bearings( LRBs),has better damping effect than the other,although they both can meet wind requirements. It is also shown that under normal conditions and small earthquakes,WRBs function well and the isolation layer will not yield; under moderate earthquakes,WRBs will yield and be destroyed to stop functioning but without affecting the damping effect of the upper structure.Additionally, the total yield shear force provided by LRBs is proposed to be close to the standard value of wind load.展开更多

An ideal strate- gy should be able to support natural and flexible human-to-computer and human-to-human interactions while maintaining the consistency of the system. This paper summarizes previ- ous researches on this topic and points out the deficiencies of the existing results. A novel semantics-based concurrency control framework, oodOPT is proposed. The main idea of the framework is to resolve conflicts by utilizing semantics of the operations and the accessed data objects. With this approach, complexities in concurrency control are shifted completely from application developers to the framework. Conflicts among operations on objects with different semantics and the strategies resolving these conflicts are analyzed. After describing the algo- rithm in full detail, the discussion ends up with a comparison with other related work and some considerations for open problems.展开更多

In order to solve the aero-propulsion system acceleration optimal problem,the necessity of inlet control is discussed,and a fully new aero-propulsion system acceleration process control design including the inlet,engi...In order to solve the aero-propulsion system acceleration optimal problem,the necessity of inlet control is discussed,and a fully new aero-propulsion system acceleration process control design including the inlet,engine,and nozzle is proposed in this paper.In the proposed propulsion system control scheme,the inlet,engine,and nozzle are simultaneously adjusted through the FSQP method.In order to implement the control scheme design,an aero-propulsion system componentlevel model is built to simulate the inlet working performance and the matching problems between the inlet and engine.Meanwhile,a stabilizing inlet control scheme is designed to solve the inlet control problems.In optimal control of the aero-propulsion system acceleration process,the inlet is an emphasized control unit in the optimal acceleration control system.Two inlet control patterns are discussed in the simulation.The simulation results prove that by taking the inlet ramp angle as an active control variable instead of being modulated passively,acceleration performance could be obviously enhanced.Acceleration objectives could be obtained with a faster acceleration time by5%.展开更多

Code review is intended to find bugs in early development phases,improving code quality for later integration and testing.However,due to the lack of experience with algorithm design,or software development,individual ...Code review is intended to find bugs in early development phases,improving code quality for later integration and testing.However,due to the lack of experience with algorithm design,or software development,individual novice programmers face challenges while reviewing code.In this paper,we utilize collaborative eye tracking to record the gaze data from multiple reviewers,and share the gaze visualization among them during the code review process.The visualizations,such as borders highlighting current reviewed code lines,transition lines connecting related reviewed code lines,reveal the visual attention about program functions that can facilitate understanding and bug tracing.This can help novice reviewers to make sense to confirm the potential bugs or avoid repeated reviewing of code,and potentially even help to improve reviewing skills.We built a prototype system,and conducted a user study with paired reviewers.The results showed that the shared real-time visualization allowed the reviewers to find bugs more efficiently.展开更多

The basis of this revolution also well known as Industry 4.0 builds so called cyber-physical systems. They contain the integrated smart software systems including the internet address to enable the communication with envi- ronment as for product itself as for means of production and employees. All these enable the next level of efficiency and flexibility for both organizing and controlling of the value-creation chain over the whole lifecycle of products. In the first three chapters several Internet references and documents published by German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy were used. Because of multiple cross references in documents, this report is written without detailed references in each paragraph of mentioned chapters. The last three chapters of the research presented undertake the short review of interdependencies between the Industry 4.0 and the well-known approach of computer-supported-cooperative-work established in the late 1980s. Social computing is ubiquitous and intensifying in the 21st Century.Originally used to reference computational augmentation of social interaction through collaborative filtering,social media,wikis,and crowdsourcing,he...Social computing is ubiquitous and intensifying in the 21st Century.Originally used to reference computational augmentation of social interaction through collaborative filtering,social media,wikis,and crowdsourcing,here I propose to expand the concept to cover the complete dynamic interface between social interaction and computation,including computationally enhanced sociality and social science,socially enhanced computing and computer science,and their increasingly complex combination for mutual enhancement.This recommends that we reimagine Computational Social Science as Social Computing,not merely using computational tools to make sense of the contemporary explosion of social data,but also recognizing societies as emergent computers of more or less collective intelligence,innovation and flourishing.It further proposes we imagine a socially inspired computer science that takes these insights into account as we build machines not merely to substitute for human cognition,but radically complement it.This leads to a vision of social computing as an extreme form of human computer interaction,whereby machines and persons recursively combine to augment one another in generating collective intelligence,enhanced knowledge,and other social goods unattainable without each other.Using the example of science and technology,I illustrate how progress in each of these areas unleash advances in the others and the beneficial relationship between the technology and science of social computing,which reveals limits of sociality and computation,and stimulates our imagination about how they can reach past those limits together.展开更多

文摘Code review is intended to find bugs in early development phases,improving code quality for later integration and testing.However,due to the lack of experience with algorithm design,or software development,individual novice programmers face challenges while reviewing code.In this paper,we utilize collaborative eye tracking to record the gaze data from multiple reviewers,and share the gaze visualization among them during the code review process.The visualizations,such as borders highlighting current reviewed code lines,transition lines connecting related reviewed code lines,reveal the visual attention about program functions that can facilitate understanding and bug tracing.This can help novice reviewers to make sense to confirm the potential bugs or avoid repeated reviewing of code,and potentially even help to improve reviewing skills.We built a prototype system,and conducted a user study with paired reviewers.The results showed that the shared real-time visualization allowed the reviewers to find bugs more efficiently.
文摘The first part of this study is devoted to concepts, approaches and some examples of the fourth industrial revolution. The basis of this revolution also well known as Industry 4.0 builds so called cyber-physical systems. They contain the integrated smart software systems including the internet address to enable the communication with envi- ronment as for product itself as for means of production and employees. All these enable the next level of efficiency and flexibility for both organizing and controlling of the value-creation chain over the whole lifecycle of products. In the first three chapters several Internet references and documents published by German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy were used. Because of multiple cross references in documents, this report is written without detailed references in each paragraph of mentioned chapters. The last three chapters of the research presented undertake the short review of interdependencies between the Industry 4.0 and the well-known approach of computer-supported-cooperative-work established in the late 1980s. Long list of publications can be found in Wikipedia, and in many proceedings of ACM conferences on computer supported cooperative work (CSCW).
文摘Social computing is ubiquitous and intensifying in the 21st Century.Originally used to reference computational augmentation of social interaction through collaborative filtering,social media,wikis,and crowdsourcing,here I propose to expand the concept to cover the complete dynamic interface between social interaction and computation,including computationally enhanced sociality and social science,socially enhanced computing and computer science,and their increasingly complex combination for mutual enhancement.This recommends that we reimagine Computational Social Science as Social Computing,not merely using computational tools to make sense of the contemporary explosion of social data,but also recognizing societies as emergent computers of more or less collective intelligence,innovation and flourishing.It further proposes we imagine a socially inspired computer science that takes these insights into account as we build machines not merely to substitute for human cognition,but radically complement it.This leads to a vision of social computing as an extreme form of human computer interaction,whereby machines and persons recursively combine to augment one another in generating collective intelligence,enhanced knowledge,and other social goods unattainable without each other.Using the example of science and technology,I illustrate how progress in each of these areas unleash advances in the others and the beneficial relationship between the technology and science of social computing,which reveals limits of sociality and computation,and stimulates our imagination about how they can reach past those limits together.

文摘Real-time collaborative editing(RTCE)can support a group of people collaboratively work from distributed locations at the same time.However,consistency maintenance is one key challenge when different types of conflicts happen.Therefore a common synchronous mechanism is proposed to support consistency maintenance in the process of multi-view business modeling.Based on operation analysis on different views of models in the real-time collaborative editing system,detection of potential conflicts is realized by means of a decision-making tree.Then consistency maintenance provides a comprehensive and applicable conflicts detection and resolution for collaborative business modeling.Finally,a prototype of collaborative multi-view business modeling system is introduced to verify the approach.The point is that the mechanism proposes a comprehensive solution for collaborative multi-view business modeling.
