Here we systematically study the effect of laser focus in a two-color waveform on generation of macroscopic HHG in soft x-rays. We find that the dependence of HHG yields on laser focus at low or high gas pressure is sensitive to the characteristics of single-atom harmonic response, in which “short”-or “long”-trajectory emissions can be selectively controlled by changing the waveform of two-color synthesized laser pulse. We uncover the phase-matching mechanism of HHG in the gas medium by examining the propagation of the two-color waveform and the evolution of time-frequency emissions of high-harmonic field. The physical origin of these effects is also explored. The results show that the far-field intensity profile is altered by the distortion-, coma-, and astigmatism-like aberrations, which are caused by oblique incidence rather than inherent aberrations for the off-axis configuration. The radius of 90% encircled energy also increases but does not change monotonically with incident beam size increasing, or rather,it first decreases and then increases. The focal shift strongly depends on the effective focal length and oblique incidence angle, but it is almost independent of the beam size, which affects the focusing spot patterns. The intensity distribution produces a higher astigmatic image with off-axis angle increasing. Coma-like aberration starts to become dominant with beam size increasing and results in larger curved propagation trajectory. The incident polarization also affects the intensity distribution. The variation in the Strehl ratio with oblique incidence angle strongly depends on the misalignment direction and beam size as well. In addition, we find that the difference in locus between the catacaustic and the diffraction focus in the meridian is small. But the locus of the sagittal foci is obviously different from the locus of the meridian foci and the catacaustic focus. Moreover, the peak intensity of the sagittal focus is maximum, and the ratio of the peak intensity to that in the meridian plane is approximately 1.5. Understanding these effects is valuable for assessing a practical focused intensity and describing the motion of charged particles under a strong electric field in ultraintense laser–matter interaction.展开更多

The LPP source is operated with a Sn solid rod target on which pulsed YAG laser is focused to produce high temperature plasma emitting EUV radiation. The source is equipped with a newly designed debris stopper protecting a condenser multilayer mirror from the particle debris of the target. The condenser mirror focuses the light onto an EUV beam-splitter to form transmitted and reflected paths for producing interference fringes of a sharing type. The optical configuration is of a common path based on a triangular path type with a focusing at the beam-splitter, which is enabled to produce fringes by a low coherence radiation with a standard optical quality beam-splitter. The fringes are recorded by an imaging plate with pixels as small as 25μm. The dynamic range of linearity in detection of the EUV light was found to be more than 10 4 with sensitivity of 10 4 photons/pixel, enough for the purpose of interferogram recording, possibly with one laser shot.展开更多

Samples are exposed to multiple (5, 10, 15, 20 and 25) focus shots. Ion energy and ion number density range from 80 keV to 1.4 MeV and 5.6×10^19 m^- 3 to 1.3×10^19 m ^-3, respectively. Moreover, the effect of continuous annealing (473 K and 523 K) on an AlN surface layer synthesized with 25 focus shots is also examined. The main features of the X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns with increasing focus shots are: (i) variation in the crystallinity of AlN along (111), (200) and (311) planes, (ii) increasing average crystallite size of AlN (111) plane, and (iii) stress relaxation observed in AlN (111) and (200) planes. The crystallinity of AlN surface layer is comparatively better at 473 K annealing temperature. A broadened diffraction peak related to an aluminium oxide phase showing weak crystallinity is observed for 15 focus shots while non-bounded oxides are present in all other deposited layers. Raman and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis confirm the presence of AlN and Al203 for the surface layer annealed at 473 K temperature. Raman analysis shows that the overlapping of AlN and Al2Oa results in the development of residual stresses. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) results demonstrate that the formation of rounded grains (range from 20 nm to 200 nm) and variations in their microstructures features depend on the increasing number of focus shots. Decomposition of larger clusters into smaller ones is observed.展开更多

The Bremsstrahlung x-ray, generated by the collision of electrons against the anode surface, was measured behind lead filters with various thicknesses using a radiographic film system. A matrix equation was considered in order to explain the relation between the x-ray dose and the spectral amplitudes of the electron beam. The electron spectrum of the device was measured at 0.6 mbar argon and 22 kV charging voltage, in four discrete energy intervals extending up to 500 keV. The results of the experiments show that most of the electrons are emitted in the 125-375 keV energy range and the spectral amplitude becomes negligible beyond 375 keV.展开更多

Understanding these effects is valuable for assessing a practical focused intensity and describing the motion of charged particles under a strong electric field in ultraintense laser–matter interaction.

文摘Based on a femtosecond laser plasma-induced hard x-ray source with a high laser pulse energy(>100 mJ)at 10 Hz repetition rate,we present a time-resolved x-ray diffraction system on an ultrafast time scale. The laser intensity is at relativistic regime(2×10^(19)W/cm^(2)),which is essential for effectively generating K_(α)source in high-Z metal material. The produced copper K_(α)radiation yield reaches to 2.5×10^(8)photons/sr/shot.The multilayer mirrors are optimized for monochromatizating and two-dimensional beam shaping of Kαemission. Our experiment exhibits its ability of monitoring the transient structural changes in a thin film SrCoO_(2.5)crystal.It is demonstrated that this facility is a powerful tool to perform dynamic studies on samples and adaptable to the specific needs for different particular applications with high flexibility.

文摘Raman spectroscopy is a type of inelastic scattering spectroscopy that is widely used in determining and analyzing molecular structure. It also has a number of practical applications in evaluating food safety, medicine, and forensics. The Raman spectral signal is weak, but the development of the surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)technique has overcome this problem and led to further developments in Raman spectroscopy. This paper describes a fundamental study of the use of focused ion beam(FIB)direct writing for preparing gold substrates for SERS.Molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulation methods are used to investigate the damage induced by gallium ion implantation of a gold substrate.Based on characterization by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and scanning electron microscopy, the mechanism by which ion implantation and annealing influence the damage induced by a gallium FIB is analyzed. After annealing at 350 XC,a mixture of metallic gallium, its oxide Ga2O3 conforming to the stoichiometric ratio, and its sub-stable oxide(Ga2Ox)in sub-stoichiometric ratio precipitated on the surface are detected by XPS.Annealing treatment can effectively reduce the effect of gallium ion implantation on a SERS substrate fabricated by FIB direct writing.
文摘A new interferometer for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation with a laser produced plasma (LPP) laboratory source is under construction. The dynamic range of linearity in detection of the EUV light was found to be more than 10 4 with sensitivity of 10 4 photons/pixel, enough for the purpose of interferogram recording, possibly with one laser shot.

文摘AlON nanolayers are synthesized on Al substrate by the irradiation of energetic nitrogen ions using plasma focusing. Decomposition of larger clusters into smaller ones is observed.

文摘Multilayer interference mirrors play a pivotal role in spectroscopic diagnostic systems, which probe electron temperature and density during inertial confinement fusion processes. In this study, aperiodic Mo/B_(4)C multilayer mirrors of varied thick-nesses were investigated for X-ray plasma diagnostics at the 9.67-keV W-Lβline.The thickness distribution of the aperiodic multilayers was designed using the first Bragg diffraction condition and then optimized through a simplex algorithm to realize a narrow bandwidth and consistent spectral response. To enhance spectral accuracy, further refinements were undertaken by matching the grazing incidence X-ray reflectivity data with actual structural parameters.X-ray reflectivity measurements from the SSRF synchrotron radiation facility on the optimized sample showed a reflectivity of 29.7±2.6%,flat-band range of 1.3 keV,and bandwidth of 1.7 keV,making it suitable for high-temperature plasma diagnostics. The study explored the potential of predicting the 9.67 keV reflectivity spectrum using the fitting data from the grazing incidence X-ray reflectivity curves at 8.05 keV.Additionally, the short-term thermal stability of an aperiodic multilayer was assessed using temperature-dependent in situ X-ray measurements.Shifts in the reflectivity spectrum during annealing were attributed to interdiffusion and interfacial relaxation. The research team recommends the aperiodic Mo/B_(4)C multilayer mirror for operations below 300℃.
文摘An indirect method is proposed for measuring the relative energy spectrum of the pulsed electron beam of a plasma focus device. The results of the experiments show that most of the electrons are emitted in the 125-375 keV energy range and the spectral amplitude becomes negligible beyond 375 keV.
文摘A 2.3 kJ Mather type pulsed plasma focus device was used for the synthesis of a TiN/a-Si3N4 thin film at room temperature. The film was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The XRD pattern confirms the growth of polycrystalline TiN thin film. The XPS results indicate that the synthesized film is non-stoichiometric and contains titanium nitride, silicon nitride, and a phase of silicon oxy-nitride. The SEM and AFM results reveal that the surface of the synthesized film is quite smooth with 0.59 nm roughness (root-mean-square).
