A rare large-scale hail process in Yantai and Weihai City in the autumn of 2021 was analyzed based on the surface meteorology,high-altitude observation and S-band radar detection data.The results showed that this proc...A rare large-scale hail process in Yantai and Weihai City in the autumn of 2021 was analyzed based on the surface meteorology,high-altitude observation and S-band radar detection data.The results showed that this process was influenced by shallow trough,and strong upper-level jet stream in the middle and upper levels guided the intrusion of mid-level cold air into the warm and humid environment at the lower level.The shear lines and trunk lines in the lower level also provided certain triggering conditions for uplift,brewing conditions suitable for the occurrence and development of strong convection.The vertical wind shear was unusually large,and vertical wind shear was up to 10 m/s at 0-1 km,20 m/s at 0-3 km,and 32 m/s at 0-6 km,which was conducive to the growth of the storm.In this process,isolated multi-cell thunderstorm was generated at the beginning,and then it developed and strengthened continuously,moving to the southeast.In the later stage,a convection cell was born at the boundary between Yantai and Weihai,and developed into supercell storm.The storm lasted for a long time,and continued to develop and strengthen as it moved eastward,affecting most areas of Weihai from northwest to southeast.In the development stage of the storm,the radar reflectivity factor had obvious characteristics of hook echo and three-body scatter spike,and there was echo overhang and other hail echo features in the middle layer.Weak mesocyclone appeared at a low elevation,and there was the potential for the occurrence of tornado.展开更多

In this study, we constructed a framework to study the driving mechanism of cultivated land transition from the quantitative perspective. Based on the vector data of land use in 1990, 2000 and 2009 of Yantai Proper, Shandong Province China, 11 explanatory variables were chosen from two aspects: the elevation, slope, cost distance to major water area and cost distance to minor water area, which presented physical factors; cost distance to district center, cost distance to town center, cost distance to city expansion center, cost distance to major roads, cost distance to city roads, cost distance to county roads and cost distance to rural roads, which presented the socio-economic factors. Combined with spatial analysis tools and Logistic regression analysis model, we construct Logistic regression analyses with four objectives that were urban construction land, rural residential land, orchard and other lands. The results show that, cost distance to district center, cost distance to town center, cost distance to city expansion center and cost distance to city roads are the significant explanatory variables for the transition of cultivated land into urban construction land. The main explained factors on the transition of cultivated land into rural residential land are slope, cost distance to town center, cost distance to county roads and cost distance to rural roads. Slope, cost distance to minor water area, cost distance to town center, cost distance to county roads and cost distance to rural roads are the significant explanatory variables for the transition of cultivated land into orchard land. Elevation, slope, cost distance to major water area and cost distance to minor water area are the main explanatory variables on the transition of cultivated land into other land uses.展开更多

Macroalgae sampling w...To explore the impact of environmental variables on macroalgal communities, their temporal and spatial distributions were examined along the Yantai coast, China between April 2010 and March 2011. Macroalgae sampling was conducted monthly at four sites along the coast: Jiahe River estuary, Zhifu Island, Fisherman's Wharf, and Yangma Island. The species composition and abundance, and their relationship with environmental variables were assessed. Along the Yantai coast, 35 macroalgae species were identifi ed, including 24 Rhodophyta spp., 7 Chlorophyta, and 4 Phaeophyta spp. Highest species numbers were recorded in the summer at all sampling sites, except in the Jiahe River estuary. Macroalgae biomass was the greatest in the summer. Year-round, the highest species number and dry biomass recorded at Fisherman's Wharf and Yangma Island was attributed to the substrate type. In summer, Ulva pertusa Kjellman was the dominant species identifi ed along the Yantai coast, which indicates a risk of macroalgae blooms. Our results show that seawater temperature and nutrients appear to signifi cantly affect the temporal and spatial patterns of macroalgal abundance along the Yantai coast. The effects of environmental variables on the macroalgae on the Yantai coast need further study.展开更多

Investigation of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and particulate organic carbon (POC) at 12 stations in Yantai Sishili Bay in May, August, and November of 1997 and March and May of 1998 showed that DOC concentrations v...Investigation of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and particulate organic carbon (POC) at 12 stations in Yantai Sishili Bay in May, August, and November of 1997 and March and May of 1998 showed that DOC concentrations varied from 1.14 mg/L to 5.35 mg/L; that the average values at all stations in each cruise varied from 1.52 mg/L to 2.12 mg/L; that POC concentrations varied from 0.049 mg/L to 1.411 mg/L; and averaged 0.159 mg/L to 0.631 mg/L in each cruise. Horizontal distribution of DOC was influenced by factors such as continental input, organism activity, temperature, aquiculture environment, etc. The higher POC concentration occurred along the coast. The vertical distribution of DOC and POC changed obviously in spring and summer, but not obviously in autumn and winter. DOC concentration was highest in summer and POC in spring; both were lowest in winter. The seasonal change of DOC was consistent with primary productivity seasonal variation, and that of POC was consistent with chlorophyll a seasonal variation. The seasonal change trend of the C/N ratio of dissolved organic matter was obvious, but the C/N ratio of particulate organic matter had no such trend.展开更多

Detailed analyses of the monitored data provided by the Yantai Ocean Administration Office between 1989 and 1996 show that, the fluctuation regularities of content of the inorganic phosphorus are as follows: the conte...Detailed analyses of the monitored data provided by the Yantai Ocean Administration Office between 1989 and 1996 show that, the fluctuation regularities of content of the inorganic phosphorus are as follows: the content of inorganic phosphorus fluctuated near the class-1 standard line basically from 1989 to 1993, tended to increase rapidly from 1993, and increased continuously, causing water quality to be deteriorated from the class-2 to class-3 standard by 19%. Causes for increment of the content of inorganic phosphorus are also analyzed. The results show that, the flux of phosphorus entering Yantai nearshore sea area increases at an annual rate of 16.5 percent, in which the increment rates of the phosphorus contained in washing powder and in phosphate fertilizer are 12.9 and 17.5 percent respectively. Both of them kept a positive interrelationship with their fluxes into the sea. In addition, the migration and regeneration mechanism of the phosphorus within the nearshore area also lead to the展开更多

Zhifu District, Development Zone, Laishan District and Fushan District in Yantai City were selected to study the landscape pattern. Remote sensing technology was used to obtain landscape information of different periods. Under the support of Geographic Information System (GIS), the spatial landscape pattern of Yantai City was analyzed and simulated by using various special quantitative analysis models. [Objective] The twice regional rainstorms in northwest Yantai in July in 2009 and July in 2010 were expounded.[Method] The twice regional rainstorm in northwest Yantai in July in 2009 and July in 2010 were selected fo...[Objective] The twice regional rainstorms in northwest Yantai in July in 2009 and July in 2010 were expounded.[Method] The twice regional rainstorm in northwest Yantai in July in 2009 and July in 2010 were selected for comparison analysis by dint of conventional and non-conventional weather data,from the aspects of circulation background,physics quantity,and radar echo,etc.[Result] The twice large rainstorm process were regional convective strong precipitation.The rainstorm fell in the northwest of Yantai and had a strong precipitation center above 200 mm.The twice large rainstorm was affected by subtropical and shear line.The rainstorm area was related to the location of 588 dagpm line,westerly trough,and shear line.It was regional rainstorm of typical subtropical edge warm and wet airstream,combination of low vortex and shear line of westerly.The precipitation occurred around the center of water vapor flux;K index had pretty good indication effects to the generation of rainstorm.Large rainstorm occurred around the place with high K index.The K index of twice large rainstorm was larger than or equal to 34 ℃,and was close to the rainstorm falling area where K index was larger than or equal to 35 ℃.The reflection factor of twice large rainstorms at 0.5° elevation,the largest echo intensity was from 55 to 60 dBz,in strip echo from south to north,through the west peninsula,forming train effect.The data report product also had important reference basis for the report of regional large rainstorm.[Conclusion] The study provided references and basis for the report of large rainstorm in the future.展开更多

文摘The 21st century is the era of marine economy.The Chinese government attaches great importance to the development and utilization of marine resources.With the support of national marine policies,the development of marine tourism industry in Yantai has changed with each passing day,and the content of tourism products developed by Yantai is also constantly innovating.In this study,by using literature research,data analysis and other methods,the development of marine tourism resources in Yantai was analyzed.The results show that the marine tourism products in Yantai are not well-known,less competitive,and are difficult to form a scale advantage.Therefore,some measures to promote the development of tourism industry in Yantai were proposed,such as optimizing and upgrading marine tourism products in Yantai,strengthening regional cooperation to increase product awareness,improving the structure scale of products in scenic spots to enhance competitiveness,attaching importance to the application of science and technology and strengthening product innovation.
