New Year’s greeting and overview of World Journal of Hepatology in 2021

Selection of the Optimal Cooling Parameters to the Multi-Cavity Die

This study is subject to the finite element and abd uc tive network method application in the multi-cavity die. In order to select the optimal cooling system parameters to minimize the warp of a die-casting die, t he Taguchi’s method and the abductive network are used. These methods are appli ed to create an efficient model with functional nodes for the considered problem . Once the cooling system parameters are developed, this network can be used to predict the warp for the die-casting die accurately. A simulated annealing (SA) optimization algorithm with a performance index is then applied to the neur al network for searching the optimal cooling system parameters, and obtain rathe r satisfactory result as compared with the corresponding finite element veri fication.

As a sort of cognitive means and thinking mode,conceptual metaphor is widely applied to political discourses.Statesmen often publicize their political thoughts by using conceptual metaphors in their political discourses so that the audience can understand their political ideas easily.Based on the Conceptual Metaphor Theory,this paper aims to analyze the conceptual metaphors in Xi Jinping's 2016 New Year address so as to summarize the types,functions and significance of conceptual metaphors in Chinese political discourses,in the hope of helping readers interpret political speeches better.

Five Years of Breakthrough in China's Human Rights Cause

In his report to the 17th Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Hu Jintao noted that the five years since the previous CPC National Congress havewitnessed important progresses in China＇s reform and opening-up undertakings and in the national endeavor to build a society of relative prosperity in all respects. A Structural Overview through GR(s) Models Characteristics for Better Yearly Runoff Simulation

In rainfall-runoff modelling, a monthly timescale and an annual one are sufficient for the management of deductions. However, to simulate the flow at a large time-step (annual), we generally precede the use of a model working for a finer time-step (daily) while aggregating the desired outputs. The finest time-steps are considered, apriori, as the most performant. By passing from one time-step to another, and in order to work in the desired time-step (annual) and calculate the potential gains or loss, this article proposed a comparative study between the aggregation method of outputs of a modal working at a finer time step, and a method in which we use a conceived model from the beginning. To ensure this comparative and empirical approach, the choice has been focused on (GRs) models to a daily time-step (GR4J), monthly time step (GR2M) and annual time step (GR1A). The modelling platform used is the same for all three models taking into account the specificities of each one: the same data sample, the same optimization method, and the same function criterion are used during the construction of these models. Due to the moving between these time steps, results show that the best way to simulate the annual flow is to use an appropriate and designed modal initially conceived to this time step. Indeed, this simulation seems to be less effective when using a model at a finer time-step (daily).

The clash between the Brazilian president and the local authorities sent confusing signals regarding the COVID-19 pandemic to the population.Many debates were raging across social media on whether people should stay home or keep the economy running.Nevertheless,with the intensification of the pandemic and the prolonged restrictive measures,many people started to disrespect social distancing and,with the premature reopening of the economy in many cities,agglomerate.Even with restrictions on agglomeration by state and municipal governments and the cancellation of traditional New Year’s Eve events in Brazil,the turn of the year was characterized by illegal agglomeration in various states.The aim of the article is to explain why there were so many illegal New Year’s parties—known as CovidFests—in Brazil during the COVID-19 pandemic,despite the restrictions on agglomeration.The main argument indicates that CovidFests are connected to the lack of social belonging in Brazilian society,which reflects the ongoing necropolitics in the country and the dissemination of a furious melancholy,when discouragement becomes destructive.
