Can ECE Classes Sustainably Empower Preschool Children’s Development?-A Longitudinal Study of the Role of ECE Classes in Children’s Learning and Development

Does enrolling children aged 0-3 in early childhood education(ECE)classes continuously empower their learning and development after entering kindergarten?Based on the tracking survey data of 664 children aged 3-6 in 2017 and 367 children aged 3-6 in 2018,this study uses Propensity Score Matching to analyze this issue.The findings reveal that children’s family socioeconomic status is a key factor influencing their participation in ECE classes.The baseline data show that participation in ECE classes does not significantly improve children’s learning and development.However,the follow-up data show that participation in ECE classes plays a significant negative role in motor development for children moving to their second year of kindergarten,but subsequently plays a positive role in language development,health,and safety for those entering their third year of kindergarten.Overall,participation in ECE classes plays no continuous positive role in children’s learning and development after they enter kindergarten.Based on these findings,it is suggested that parents should respect the natural laws of child development instead of blindly following the trend of attending ECE classes,and high-quality parental companionship is crucial.The Chinese government is supposed to implement policies such as“double reduction”to regulate ECE institutions that fail to operate in good faith.

A Study of the Effects of Family Precepts,Rules and Ethics on Children’s Education During the Tang Dynasty

From the perspectives of the prosperity of the Sui and Tang dynasties,the rise and fall of the aristocrats and the prevalence of the imperial examination,this paper studies the impact of family precepts,rules,and ethics on children’s education.I believe that an important feature of family precepts in the Tang Dynasty was the development of the cultural tradition of poetry and literature study within the family,which promoted virtues like loyalty,filial piety,diligence,frugality and modesty and had a profound influence on future generations.The rise and fall of Tang Dynasty families was closely related to family precepts,rules,ethics,and learning.Famous and respectable families often regarded these traits as important means to maintain the family’s status,which objectively promoted the development of family scholarship and the importance of children’s education in the Tang Dynasty.The concept of learning as a“carry-on treasure”has become a common belief among scholars and has played a positive role in educating Chinese society,enriching our culture,and keeping society in order.

家庭环境对幼儿学习品质发展的影响——基于34项实证研究的元分析

学习品质是帮助幼儿获得积极学业成就的内在机制,家庭环境是影响幼儿学习品质发展的重要因素。为了深入探究幼儿学习品质与家庭因素之间的关系,本研究运用CMA3.7软件对34项实证研究的相关文献进行元分析。研究结果显示,幼儿学习品质与家庭因素呈现显著正相关。不同学习品质纬度与家庭因素的相关程度存在差异。从高到低排序为:想象与创造、坚持与专注、反思与解释、主动性、好奇心与兴趣。具体而言,家庭经济条件、父母参与程度以及家庭投入与支持对幼儿学习品质发展有显著影响。此外,性别与年龄对幼儿学习品质不同纬度的发展水平具有显著调节效应。主要教育建议:家长应在幼儿学习品质发展的关键时期给予关注,重视与幼儿的亲子互动,提高家庭支持和投入力度,并根据幼儿的个性特点有针对性地培养,从而促进其学习品质均衡发展。

幼儿学习科学的可能性与支持策略探析

以往的认知心理学研究低估了幼儿的科学学习能力,以此为指导的教育实践限制了幼儿学习科学的潜力。当代国际幼儿科学教育和学习科学研究表明,理论上幼儿不仅适合学习科学,而且有权利通过科学学习来了解其所生活的世界。在实践层面,美国的学前儿童科学教育项目(Preschool Pathways to Science,简称PrePS?)充分认可了幼儿科学学习的价值,形成了特色的科学教育理念并落实在实践中,提供了借鉴案例。对于我国当前的幼儿科学教育来说,一方面需要加强理论研究及其与实践的融合,另一方面则需要构建幼儿科学教育的生态系统,为幼儿提供丰富而便捷的学习科学的机会。

“生生不已”的幼儿园环境创设探析——基于生命美学的视角

幼儿作为独特的生命存在,其生长离不开环境,生命美学以“人的生命需要”为逻辑起点,深度契合幼儿园环境创设的内在要求。从生命美学的视角来看,幼儿园环境是幼儿生命成长的关键场域,其创设应紧紧围绕幼儿的生命来展开。“生生不已”既符合中国传统生命美学的意蕴,又是当代生命美学回归生命本体的凝练表达。“生生不已”的幼儿园环境,关键在于遵循幼儿生命完整性、幼儿生命体验性、幼儿生命审美性的三重原则,在运动变化、持续向上中彰显幼儿生命之美。“生生不已”的幼儿园环境创设路径在于:在自然环境下,丰富幼儿生命的感性认知;在虚拟和真实环境的相互结合中,赋能幼儿生命的多重体验;在物质美和精神美的美美与共里,呵护幼儿生命的自由表达。这三条创设路径之间互生互动,共同指向幼儿生命的美好发展。

低结构活动促进4-6岁幼儿学习品质发展的实验研究

学习品质是个体学习与发展必备的素质之一,是幼儿入学准备中最为核心的要素。在幼儿园区域环境创设的活动区投放各类低结构材料,通过教师对幼儿的自主性支持策略,并对其进行干预实验,最后采用自编评价工具测评4-6岁幼儿学习品质的发展水平。结果表明:幼儿园低结构活动能有效促进4-6岁幼儿学习品质发展,但存在一定的年级差异性,不具有性别差异。

Justifying the Choice and Use of a Game and a Song in My Lesson

Games and songs can bring a lot of pleasure to children. They are useful tools in children's language learning. As English teachers, we should know how to make full use of them to stimulate children's interest and promote their learning. In this essay, I will take one primary English lesson as an example to demonstrate my point. First I am going to talk about the advantages of using a game and a song, and then analyze the teaching or learning context and the activities in the lesson. At last I am going to focus on how and why to use the game and the song in the classroom. In a word, I am going to justify my choice and use of a game and a song in a revision lesson.

The Use and Value of Green School Grounds in Developing Countries

There is an extensive attention in developed countries to take full advantages of urban green spaces including green school grounds.Those spaces are assessed and established as environmental learning resources,where top-down or bottom-up initiatives encourage or initiate projects with the support of school staffs and students.Green school grounds are also used for gardening(food growing)that besides environmental education,those spaces provide health benefits and knowledge,also skills and behavioral benefits.Those approaches in some developing countries are still vague or inapplicable for several reasons.This paper addresses the use and value of school grounds in developing countries as it lacks the opportunities to make the most of green school grounds.This research elaborated five schools,in the city of Podujevo,Kosovo.The findings reveal that the potentials of green school grounds in most of the cases studied have not been utilized.Opportunities offered by the municipality and environmental NGOs(Non-governmental Organizations)are insufficient.The findings suggest the need to rethink the design and use of green school grounds in developing countries.

Pakistani Teachers’ Perceptions of Kindergarten Children’s Learning: An Exploration of Understanding and Practice

This paper considers perceptions of children’s learning and classroom practice to support learning in the Pakistani early years educational context.In Pakistan,there is a growing focus on quality provision of early childhood education and building early childhood education teacher capacity.Over the course of one academic year,data were collected from kindergarten teachers in a Pakistani urban school through interviews and classroom observations as part of a larger study.Findings presented in this paper are based on the interview data of two teachers in the sample,a novice and an experienced teacher.Data analysis examined their perceptions of kindergarten children’s learning and of their practice to support kindergarten children’s learning,taking into consideration the gender perspective.The results showed tensions in the teachers’perceptions which contrasted between a constructivist approach and a teacher-directed skills approach.Perceptions of their practice reflected a formal,teacher-directed approach rather than a constructivist approach and a teacher-directed skills approach to teaching.Several factors,including deep-rooted perceptions as well as curriculum structure,time,number of staff and resources,contributed to this.

幼儿家庭学习环境评价指标体系的构建——基于德尔菲法的调查研究

作为影响幼儿早期发展的重要外部环境,家庭学习环境一直是研究关注点。为充分发挥家庭学习环境对幼儿发展的支持作用,需构建系统科学的指标体系,以明确幼儿家庭学习环境评价的内容与方向。基于国内外已有研究结果,初步构建幼儿家庭学习环境评价指标体系,并运用德尔菲法对各项指标进行修订,形成包含4个一级指标、9个二级指标、35个评判标准的幼儿家庭学习环境评价指标体系,关注软性指标作为家庭学习环境评价的内部要素,重视硬性指标作为家庭学习环境评价的外部要素以及强调家庭学习环境作为近端特征对儿童发展影响。

大湾区建设背景下幼儿结构游戏中深度学习生成探赜

粤港澳大湾区建设是近年来国家重要的发展战略,发展粤港澳大湾区的关键一步是发展教育。作为转变传统学习的一种新型学习方式,深度学习运用在幼儿结构游戏中将凸显出哺育价值、激活价值与内驱价值等价值意蕴。传统幼儿结构游戏面临着幼儿结构游戏场域的悬置、幼儿教师游戏素养的匮乏、幼儿主体游戏意识的迷失等现实羁绊。为此,大湾区建设背景下需要从建设立体结构游戏场域、提升幼儿教师游戏素养、培养幼儿主体游戏意识等维度进行幼儿结构游戏中深度学习的理路生成。

当前幼儿体质健康促进困境与社会支持现状分析

幼儿体质健康是"健康中国"国家战略实施的基础,也是个体一生发展的基础,促进幼儿体质健康发展需要家庭、幼儿园、社区、社会组织、政府与市场等多方力量的支持。当前我国幼儿体质健康促进工作面临来自环境、家庭、幼儿园的多种困境,表明相关社会支持缺乏,主要体现在家庭支持形式简单、园所支持功能缺位、社区及相关社会组织支持有限、政府支持政策运行不畅与投入不足等方面,制约了我国幼儿体质健康水平的提高。今后应从高度认识幼儿体质健康的价值出发,建构促进幼儿体质健康发展所需的家庭、幼儿园、社会、政府"四位一体"的社会支持体系。

我国学前儿童数学监测指标体系的构建

对儿童学习和发展结果的评估与监控是教育质量监测的重要内容。学前儿童数学监测指标体系本质上是对3～6岁儿童在与数学学习有关的知识、能力、态度、学习品质等方面的发展的较为系统的期望。在厘清21世纪创新社会对人才数学素养要求的基础上,参考国内外研究文献和国内相关政策文件,本研究构建了学前儿童数学监测指标体系草案,然后采用德尔菲专家访谈方法,结合幼儿园教师在实践中的实际使用情况与反馈,对该指标体系进行了内容效度检验,并根据检验结果对指标体系进行了多次修改,最终确定的监测指标体系包含数学知识技能、过程性能力、态度和学习品质三个方面共20条指标,今后应进一步开发和完善与这一数学监测指标体系相匹配的注重儿童数学问题解决过程的诊断性测评工具和适合教师使用的观察评定表,以更好地发挥监测为改进教学、促进儿童发展服务的功能。

拟社会互动在年幼儿童视频学习中的作用

本研究采用表征理解任务和规则学习任务,通过比较真人互动、视频拟互动和视频非互动三种条件下年幼儿童的学习效果,考察拟互动在2-5岁儿童视频学习中的作用。结果表明,2岁儿童的视频学习存在视频缺陷现象,2.5岁到5岁儿童的拟社会互动视频学习效果明显,优于非互动视频学习,与真人互动学习相当。2.5岁至4.5岁是拟互动视频学习的最佳年龄。
