DABCO can bind inside the cavities of porphyrin dimers and form a ternary sandwich complex as the alkoxy chain length is long enough. The fluorescence intensity of the free base dimer is five times higher than that of the monomer, but the fluorescence intensity of the zinc porphyrin dimer is nearly similar to that of the zinc porphyrin monomer. The emission spectra show that energy transfer occurs between the two units.展开更多
