However, it ...The expression of phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN ), a tumor suppressor gene, is frequently downregulated in gastric carcinomas due to mutation, loss of heterozygosity, and promoter hypermethylation. However, it is unknown if additional mechanisms may account for the down-regulation of PTEN expression. While neuronal precursor cell-expressed developmentally down-regulated 4-1 (NEDD4-1) is believed to be a potential dual regulator of PTEN, there are conflicting reports regarding their interaction. To gain further insight into the role of NEDD4-1 and its association with PTEN in gastric carcinoma development, we measured the protein expression of NEDD4-1 and PTEN in gastric mucosae with various pathological lesions and found that NEDD4-1 increased from normal gastric mucosa to intestinal metaplasia and decreased from dysplasia to gastric carcinoma. These changes did not correlate with PTEN expression changes during gastric carcinogenesis. Moreover, we found similar results in protein levels in the primary tumors and adjacent non-tumorous tissues. These results differ from a previous report showing that expression of NEDD4-1 is up-regulated in gastric carcinomas, and show a more complex pattern of NEDD4-1 gene expression during gastric carcinogenesis.展开更多

The single-crystal X-ray study reveals that the compound crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/n with a = 11.746(5), b = 8.145(3), c = 12.786(5) ? b = 106.64(1), V = 1172(1) ?, Z = 2, Dc = 1.581 g/cm3, m = 0.989 mm-1, F(000) = 574, C22H22Cu- N8O6, Mr = 558.02, T = 293(2) K, R = 0.0394 and Rw = 0.0835 for 2376 observed reflections with I > 2s(I). The complex comprises a four-coordinated copper(II) center, with an N2O2 planar coordi- nation environment. This method is characteristic of the preprocessing of sample data using wavelet transformation for the forecast, i.e., the data se-quence of solar irradiance as the sample is first mapped into several time-frequency domains, and then a chaos optimization neural network is established for each domain. The forecasted so-lar irradiance is exactly the algebraic sum of all the forecasted components obtained by the re-spective networks, which correspond respec-tively the time-frequency domains. On the basis of combination of chaos optimization neural network and wavelet analysis, a model is devel-oped for more accurate forecasts of solar irradi-ance. An example of the forecast of daily solar irradiance is presented in the paper, the historical daily records of solar irradiance in Shanghai constituting the data sample. Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) is a vital antioxidant enzyme involved in the reduction of reactive oxygen species and protects cells from oxidative damage.Consequently enormous efforts have been devoted to developing ar...Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) is a vital antioxidant enzyme involved in the reduction of reactive oxygen species and protects cells from oxidative damage.Consequently enormous efforts have been devoted to developing artificial catalysts with GPx function.Besides the research on enhancing the catalytic activity of GPx mimics,the design and construction of smart GPx models has also inspired great interest.Herein,a novel photo-responsive seleniumcontaining vesicular GPx model was successfully constructed by supramolecular self-assembly of the cationic surfactant PyC10AZoC10Py with benzeneseleninic acid (PhSeO2H) through hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions in aqueous media.This selenium-containing vesicular catalyst showed remarkable GPx-like activity,which is 692times more effective than PhSeO2H for the reduction of cumene hydroperoxide (CUOOH) by 4-nitrobenzenethiol (NBT).Interestingly,when an equimolar amount of α-CD was added,the GPx-like activity of the catalytic vesicle declines remarkably due to the vesicle disaggregation in the presence ofα-CD.Whereas the biomimetic system was irradiated by UV light at 365 nm,the catalytic vesicle was formed again and the GPx-like activity recovered.展开更多

MoS2 is not only much cheaper, but also more selective than noble metal catalysts for the reduction of functional nitrobenzenes to the corresponding anilines. Nitrobenzenes with halides (F, C1, Br and I) were reduced selectively, and the corresponding anilines were obtained in excellent yields, and no dehalogenation was detected. Functional groups such as NH2, OH, alkene groups were tolerated dur- ing the reduction of the nitro compounds. The reduction ofp-chloronitrobenzene was studied over MoS2 and Pd/C respectively with hydrazine. The yield ofp-chloroaniline was much higher with MoS2 than that with Pd/C at full conversion.展开更多
A novel biomaterial based on polyurethane (PU) was prepared through physical incorporation of lysine-containing copolymer to improve its hemocompatibility and surface recognition of plasminogen.The lysine-containing c...A novel biomaterial based on polyurethane (PU) was prepared through physical incorporation of lysine-containing copolymer to improve its hemocompatibility and surface recognition of plasminogen.The lysine-containing copolymer was synthesized via the copolymerization of 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate (EHMA),oligo (ethylene glycol)methyl ether methacrylate (OEGMA) and 6-tert-butoxycarbonyl amino-2-(2-methyl-acryloylamino)-hexanoic acid tert-butyl ester (Lys(P)MA),followed by the deprotection of COOH and ε-NH2 groups on lysine residues in the copolymer.The composition of the copolymer can be adjusted by varying the monomer feed ratio.The three components contribute to improving the compatibility with PU,resistance to nonspecific protein adsorption and specific binding of plasminogen,respectively.The binding capacity towards plasminogen increased with the lysine content in the copolymer.This approach illustrates a simple way for the generation of novel biomaterials with improved hemocompatibility and surface recognition of specific biomolecules.展开更多

As a result, several authors have developed service classification systems,...The growing importance of the service economy during the last 40 years has raised the need for new tools for designing and managing services. As a result, several authors have developed service classification systems, in order to better understand the nature of service operations and provide methods and tools to improve service efficiency and quality. This paper exploits the work resulting from service classification systems and identifies the principal attributes to be considered in service management. The tool introduced for this purpose is the Service Attribute-Process Matrix (SAPM), which uses selected results from existing service classification schemes to investigate the importance of the significant service attributes to major processes of the service life cycle.展开更多
