Since SINOPEC carried out the action plan of dramatically improving oil and gas exploration and development in 2019,oilfield development front has actively overcome the impact of disadvantage factors such as sharp fluctuations in oil prices,recurrent COVID-19 and withdrawal of nature reserves,fully implemented the decision and deployment of company group’s party leadership,focused on improving productivity,controlling decline,increasing recoverable capacity and reducing cost,adhered to the detailed reservoir understanding,precise plan deployment,detailed supporting processes and actuarial development benefits for strengthening the construction of production efficiency,paid close attention to the detailed development of old oilfields,enhanced the promotion and application of significantly improved oil recovery technology,put forth effort on consolidating the foundation of stable production,to make sure the production stable and rising,and oil production exceeded the planned target during the period from 2019 to 2022.In 2022,35.32 million tons oil were produced,with an increase of 0.16 million tons,marking the largest increase in the nearly past four years. 展开更多

Deep shale gas reservoirs being developed by SIN OPEC are characterized by significant buried depths,high rock strengths, high temperatures and pressures, multiple layers, low ROPs, prolonged drilling time and prohibitoryhigh costs. All of these factors may negatively affect the economic and effective development of shale gas.Under such circumstances, existing drilling techniques for deep shale gas around the world have been reviewed to highlight technical challenges in deep shale gas drilling in China. With consideration to the previous drilling operations of SINOPEC for deep shale gas, technical solutions for deep shale gas drilling have been proposed with regard to the optimization of casing programs, enhanced drilling, trajectory control, high-density oil-based drilling fluid, cementation for deep shale gas development and other aspects. Some of these research findings have been deployed with great successes in Pingqiao, Jiangdong Block in the 2 nd Phase of Fuling Project, Dingshan Block and other blocks with deep shale gas development. Among them, Well JY-74-2 HF has had a drilling time of only54.25 d, whereas Well JY-187-2 HF has a TVD up to 4024.14 m. Relevant research results may provide valuable guidance and references for the optimization of drilling programs andthe enhancement ofdrilling efficiency for deep shale gas development. 展开更多

This article focuses on the hydrocracking technology for upgrading the quality of tail oil and the first commercial application of the RN-32V/RHC-1 catalysts in the 1.0 Mt/a hydrocracker at the Yangzi Petrochemical Company, which was started up successfully in September 2008. One month after start-up of the hydrocracking unit, an evaluation operation has been conducted for assessing the catalysts performance. The technical calibration results showed that the RN-32V/RHC-1 catalysts had high activity, and the product yield distribution was reasonable. The hydrocracker can provide abundant feedstocks for the downstream aromatic production unit and ethylene production unit. 展开更多

In order to economically and effectively develop shale gas in China, Sinopec introduced foreign technologies and integrated them with available domestic technologies and self-developed tools according to geological characteristics and complicated mountainous geomorphology in marine shale plays of southern China. A technology series composed of innovated theories concerning geological characterization during drilling, new generation of PDC bits, friction-reducing tools, low-cost oil-based drilling fluid system, high-efficient washing fluid and elastic mud systems, integrated drilling engineering design, long lateral cementing, modified well factory drilling method and etc., was developed to fulfill fast and optimized drilling for shale gas wells. The application of the technology series in about 251 wells of Fuling gas field, Chongqing City, southwestern China, showed positive results: mechanical rotating speed increased by 191%, drilling duration reduced by 53%, and quality passing percent 100%. 展开更多

Ultra-deep formations in China contain rich hydrocarbon resources.In recent years,the number of ultradeep wells has been continuously increasing.However,efforts to facilitate tlte drilling and exploration of these ultra-deep reservoirs are facing many challenges,such as complicated formation pressures,complicated formation lithologic features,complicated formation fluids,difficulties in the accurate calculation of formation parameters,difficulties in borehole structure design optimization,instabilities in the performances of drilling fluid and key cementing materials/systems,high temperature-resistance and pressure-resistance requirements for downhole tools and instruments,complicated engineering problems,and slow drilling speeds.Under such circumstances,it is very difficult to ensure the performance of such drilling operations.In order to address these challenges,SINOPEC has developed relevant drilling technologies for ultra-deep wells in complicated geological conditions through intensive research on accurate descriptions of complex geologic characteristics,borehole structure design optimization,fast drilling techniques for deep and hard formations,temperature-resistant highdensity drilling fluid,anti-channeling cementing in high-pressure gas wells,borehole trajectory control in ultra-deep horizontal wells and other key technologies.These technologies can provide sound engineering and technical support for tlte exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources in ultra-deep formations in China. 展开更多

Proven undeveloped reserves (PUDs) refers to discovered proven reserves that are difficult to develop, require high costs for production, have low commercial value or are temporarily not put into commercial development under the existing technological and economic conditions. Sinopec’s PUDs are dominated by deep-and ultra-deep reservoirs with ultra-low permeability, high-density, low-pressure coefficient and low abundance. These oil reservoirs have narrow storage space and complex storage status, leading to difficulties in predicting effective reservoirs, low single-well production, high production cost and difficulties in benefit generation. Since the “13th Five-year Plan” period, Sinopec’s upstream sector in China has taken the effective development of PUDs as an important measure to ensure national energy security. It has made every effort to promote innovation, cost reduction and reform to generate benefits, made a series of new technological progress and management achievements, and effectively revitalized a batch of resources. 展开更多
