Gneisses with anatectic characteristics from the Liansan island in the Sulu UHPM(ultra-high pressure metamorphic)belt were studied for petrography, titanite U-Pb dating and mineral geochemistry.Three origins of garnets are distinguished:metamorphic garnet, peritectic garnet and anatectic garnet, which are formed in the stages of peak metamorphism, retrograde anatexis and melt crystallization, respectively. The euhedral titanite has a high content of REE and high Th/U ratios, which is interpreted as indicating that it was newly-formed from an anatectic melt. The LA-ICP-MS titanite U-Pb dating yields 214-217 Ma ages for the titanite(melt)crystallization. The distribution of trace elements varies in response to the different host minerals at different stages. At the peak metamorphic stage,Y and HREE are mainly hosted by garnet,Ba and Rb by phengite,Sr,Nb,Ta,Pb,Th,U and LREE by allanite and Y,U and HREE by zircon.During partial melting,Y,Pb,Th,U and REE are released into the melt, which causes a dramatic decline of these element contents in the retrograde minerals. Finally, titanite absorbs most of the Nb,U,LREE and HREE from the melt. Therefore, the different stages of metamorphism have different mineral assemblages, which host different trace elements. 展开更多

Many evidences for gas hydrate bearing sediments had been found in the continental slope of the East China Sea,such as bottom simulating reflections(BSRs),undersea gas springs, pyrite associated with methane leakage, mud diapirs/mud volcanos,bottom-water methane anomalies and so on.In this study, six key stratigraphic interfaces including T_0(seafloor),T_1(LGM,23 kyr B.P.),T_2(2.58 Myr),T_3(5.33 Myr),T_4(11.02 Myr)and T_5(16.12 Myr)were identified, and then five third-order sequences of SQIII1 to SQIII5 were divided.However,T5 in southern continental slope is not found, which shows that the middle-northern Okinawa Trough had begun to rift in the early Miocene, earlier than the southern segment.Four system tracts including lowstand systems tract(LST),transgressive systems tract(TST),highstand systems tract(HST)and falling stage systems tract(FSST)are further divided. The marine erosion interface of 11.02 Myr and regressive unconformity interface of 23 kyr B.P.indicate two large-scale sea level drop events in the research area.Seven typical seismic facies identified in the continental slope are continental shelf-edge deltas, littoral fluvial-delta plains, incised channels or submarine canyons, slope fans, submarine fans or coastal sandbars,littoral-neritic finegrained sediments, mud volcanos and some other geological bodies respectively. The minimum water depth for hydrate occurrence in the Okinawa Trough is 630 m,and the thickness of gas hydrate stability zone in continental slope is between 0 and 590 m.The calculated bottom boundary of hydrate stability zone is slightly deeper than BSRs on the seismic sections. The re-depositional turbidite sand bodies, such as canyon channels, slope fans and submarine fans developed in Quaternary strata, are the predominant hydrate reservoirs.According to developing process, the dynamic accumulation of hydrate systems can be divided into three evolutionary stages including canyon erosion and hydrate stability zone migration stage, sediments destabilizing and methane leakage stage, and channel filling and hydrate re-occurrence stage. 展开更多

Deciphering the relationship between polyphase tectonic foliations and their associated mineral assemblages is significant in understanding the process from diagenesis to low-/medium-/high-grade metamorphism. It can provide information related to strain, metamorphic conditions and overprinting relationships and so help reveal the tectonic evolution of orogenesis. In this study,we predominately focus on the formation of foliations and their related minerals,as developed in two separate basins.First of all,two stages of axial plane cleavages(S1 and S2)were recognized in the Hongyanjing inter-arc basin, the formation of the S1 axial plane cleavage is associated with mica rotation and elongation in mudstones in the local area. The pencil structure of S2 formed during the refolding phase, the minerals in the sedimentary rocks not changing their shape and orientation.Secondly,in the Liao-Ji backarc basin, foliations include diagenetic foliation(bedding parallel foliation),tectonic S1 foliation(secondary foliation or axial plane cleavage of S0 folding)and crenulation cleavage(S2).The formation mechanism of foliation changes from mineral rotation or elongation and mineral solution transfer in S1 to crystal-plastic deformation, dynamic recrystallization and micro-folding in S2.Many index metamorphic minerals formed from low-grade to medium-grade consist of biotites, garnets, staurolite and kyanite, constituting a typical Barrovian metamorphic belt.Accordingly,a new classification of foliation is presented in this study. The foliations can be divided into continuous and disjunctive foliations, based on the existence of microlithons, detectable with the aid of a microscope.Disjunctive foliation can be further sub-divided into spaced foliation and crenulation cleavage, according to whether(or not)crenulation(micro-folding)is present. The size of the mineral grains is also significant for classification of the foliations. 展开更多

Multiple coal seams and interbedded rock assemblages formed in vertical progression due to the influence of multiple stages of sea level transgressions.Based on mercury injection experiment, low temperature liquid nitrogen experiment, porosity and permeability experiment and breakthrough pressure experiment, the vertical variation characteristics of coal-bearing strata in Gujiao block are explained in detail. The results of the mercury injection and low temperature liquid nitrogen experiments show that the pore structure characteristics fluctuate with increasing depth in the strata, with fewer micropores followed by transition pores. The BET specific surface area and average pore diameter of the Shanxi Formation are generally larger than those of the Taiyuan Formation.Due to the continuous cyclic sequence stratigraphy changes, the porosity, permeability, breakthrough pressure and breakthrough time of the samples show a certain cyclicity.Within the same sequence, the porosity is larger, and the permeability is smaller near the maximum flooding surface.Although the permeability of the sandstone samples is higher, the porosity is lower, and the breakthrough pressure and breakthrough times are greater. The strata in the study area formed in an oxidized environment that was affected by freshwater, and the pore structure of different lithologies is quite different. After the formation of sandstone, the intergranular pores generally underwent filling with secondary quartz, clay minerals and organic matter, resulting in low porosity and permeability. 展开更多

Geochemical background values are the normal concentration of trace metals in the natural environment and sediment cores have been proved to be excellent samples to get these values. The trace metal(Cu,Pb,Zn,Cr,Cd,As,Hg,Ni,Li,and Co)concentration profiles along a sediment core are investigated to get the background values and to assess the depositional processes and contamination levels off the southern Shandong Peninsula,China. All the metals, except As and Hg,had similar concentration profiles with the highest average values during the period of 6-3 kyr.The high concentrations of As and Hg occurred before 6ka and during the period of 3-0 kyr.The difference in metal concentrations before and after 6 kyr was mainly attributed to the source of core sediments, which are derived from proximal sediment on the Shandong Peninsula before 6 kyr and the mixture of proximal sediment and Yellow River sediment after 6 kyr.The effects of particle size and human activity were mainly contributed to the metal concentrations since 6 kyr.The average concentrations of trace elements in sediments between 6 and 3 kyr were selected as background values. The principal component factor analysis indicate that the metals were from the natural sources throughout the observed depositional period, with the exception of As and Hg,which may had anthropogenic sources for the sediments from the bottom 2 m of the core.Their geoaccumulation indices indicate that the sediments were not contaminated for Cu,Zn,Cr,Cd,Pb,Ni,Li and Co,whereas they were contaminated recently for As and Hg due to the regional civilization and human activities. 展开更多

The Upper Ordovician Wufeng-Lower Silurian Longmaxi shale is widely distributed in the Sichuan Basin and its periphery, which is the key stratum for marine shale gas exploration and development(E&D)in China.Based on sedimentary environment, material basis, storage space, fracability and reservoir evolution data, the reservoir characteristics of the Wufeng-Longmaxi shale and their significance for shale gas E&D are systematically compared and analyzed in this paper. The results show that(1)the depocenter of the Wufeng(WF)-Longmaxi(LM)shale gradually migrates from east to west. The high-quality shale reservoirs in the eastern Sichuan Basin are mainly siliceous shales, which are primarily distributed in the graptolite shale interval of WF2-LM5.The high-quality reservoirs in the southern Sichuan Basin are mainly calcareous-siliceous and organic-rich argillaceous shales, which are distributed in the graptolite shale interval of WF2-LM7.(2)Deep shale gas(the burial depth>3500 m)in the Sichuan Basin has high-ultrahigh pressure and superior physical properties. The organic-rich siliceous,calcareous-siliceous and organic-rich argillaceous shales have suitable reservoir properties. The marginal area of the Sichuan Basin has a higher degree of pressure relief, which leads to the argillaceous and silty shales evolving into direct cap rocks with poor reservoir/good sealing capacity.(3)Combining shale gas exploration practices and impacts of lithofacies, depth, pressure coefficient and brittle-ductile transition on the reservoir properties,it is concluded that the favorable depth interval of the Wufeng-Longmaxi shale gas is 2200~4000 m under current technical conditions.(4)Aiming at the differential reservoir properties of the Wufeng-Longmaxi shale in the Sichuan Basin and its periphery, several suggestions for future research directions and E&D of shale gas are formulated. 展开更多

Determining the process of densification and tectonic evolution of tight sandstone can help to understand the distribution of reservoirs and find relatively high-permeability areas.Based on integrated approaches of thin section, scanning electron microscopy(SEM),cathode luminescence(CL),nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),N2 porosity and permeability,micro-resistivity imaging log(MIL)and three-dimensional seismic data analysis, this work discussed the reservoir characteristics of the member 8 of the Permian Xiashihezi Formation(He 8 sandstones)in the Linxing area of eastern Ordos Basin, determined the factors affecting reservoir quality, and revealed the formation mechanism of relatively high-permeability areas. The results show that the He 8 sandstones in the Linxing area are mainly composed of feldspathic litharenites, and are typical tight sandstones(with porosity<10%and permeability<1 mD accounting for 80.3%of the total samples).Rapid burial is the main reason for reservoir densification, which resulted in 61%loss of the primary porosity. In this process, quartz protected the original porosity by resisting compaction. The cementation(including carbonate, clay mineral and siliceous cementation)further densified the sandstone reservoirs, reducing the primary porosity with an average value of 28%.The calcite formed in the eodiagenesis occupied intergranular pores and affected the formation of the secondary pores by preventing the later fluid intrusion, and the Fe-calcite formed in the mesodiagenetic stage densified the sandstones further by filling the residual intergranular pores. The clay minerals show negative effects on reservoir quality, however, the chlorite coatings protected the original porosity by preventing the overgrowth of quartz. The dissolution of feldspars provides extensive intergranular pores which constitute the main pore type, and improves the reservoir quality. The tectonic movements play an important role in improving the reservoir quality. The current tectonic traces of the study area are mainly controlled by the Himalayan movement, and the high-permeability reservoirs are mainly distributed in the anticline areas.Additionally, the improvement degree(by tectonic movements)of reservoir quality is partly controlled by the original composition of the sandstones. Thus, the selection of potential tight gas well locations in the study area should be focused on the anticline areas with relatively good original reservoir quality. And the phenomena can be referenced for other fluvial tight sandstone basins worldwide. 展开更多

Carbonate concretions are conspicuous in organic-rich shales and are generally related to decomposition of organic matter. The black shales from the Chang 7 Member of the Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation of the southern Ordos Basin host abundant carbonate concretions, which provide a unique record of depositional and early diagenetic conditions of the paleo-lake sediments. However, little attention has been given to the genesis and growth processes of the concretions in these lacustrine petroleum source rocks.New petrographic observations and geochemical analysis show that the concretions are composed of calcite, phosphate fossil fragments,K-NH4-feldspar,quartz,bitumen,and minor Fe-dolomite.Phosphate minerals, mainly carbonate fluorapatite(CFA),show pervasive replacement by calcite, most of which contains phosphorus, ranging in concentration from 0.26 to 2.35 wt%.This suggests that the phosphate minerals are the precursors for concretion growth.Positiveδ13C(+5.6 to+12.4‰V-PDB)signatures and the absence of pyrite indicate that microbial methanogenesis was the dominant driver for concretion growth, rather than bacterial sulfate reduction.Quartz, bitumen, and Fe-dolomite are the last cements that occurred,at deep burial depths and high temperatures. The formation of phosphate minerals might have been induced by upwelling of phosphate-enriched deep water in the Late Triassic paleo-lake,which promoted phytoplankton blooms and further enrichment of organic matter.Extremely slow sedimentation rates of fine-grained detrital minerals, relative to dead organism accumulation, led to the high permeabilities of the organic-rich sediments and rapid concretion growth during shallow burial. The close association of phosphate-bearing carbonate concretions and organic-rich shales reflects that upwelling played a critical role in the formation of the high-quality petroleum source rocks in the Triassic paleo-Ordos lake. 展开更多

The accumulation and productivity of shale gas are mainly controlled by the characteristics of shale reservoirs;study of these characteristics forms the basis for the shale gas exploitation of the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation(Fm),Southern China. In this study, core observation and lithology study were conducted along with X-ray diffraction(XRD)and electronic scanning microscopy(SEM)examinations and liquid nitrogen(N2)adsorption/desorption and CH4 isothermal adsorption experiments for several exploration wells in northwestern Hunan Province,China. The results show that one or two intervals with high-quality source rocks(TOC>2 wt%)were deposited in the deep-shelf facies. The source rocks, which were mainly composed of carbonaceous shales and siliceous shales, had high quartz contents(>40 wt%)and low clay mineral(<30 wt%,mainly illites)and carbonate mineral(<20 wt%)contents. The SEM observations and liquid nitrogen(N2)adsorption/desorption experiments showed that the shale is tight, and nanoscale pores and microscale fractures are well developed.BJH volume(VBJH)of shale ranged from 2.144×10^-3 to 20.07×10^-3 cm^3/g,with an average of 11.752×10^-3 cm3/g.Pores mainly consisted of opened and interconnected mesopores(2–50 nm in diameter)or macropores(>50 nm in diameter). The shale reservoir has strong adsorption capacity for CH4.The Langmuir volume(VL)varied from 1.63 to 7.39 cm^3/g,with an average of 3.95 cm^3/g.The characteristics of shale reservoir are controlled by several factors:(1)A deep muddy continental shelf is the most favorable environment for the development of shale reservoirs, which is controlled by the development of basic materials.(2)The storage capacity of the shale reservoir is positively related to the TOC contents and plastic minerals and negatively related to cement minerals.(3)High maturity or overmaturity leads to the growth of organic pores and microfractures, thereby improving the reservoir storage capacity. It can be deduced that the high percentage of residual gas in Niutitang Fm results from the strong reservoir storage capacity of adsorbed gas.Two layers of sweet spots with strong storage capacity of free gas,and they are characterized by the relatively high TOC contents ranging from 4 wt%to 8 wt%. 展开更多

The early Albian Oceanic Anoxic Event 1 b(OAE 1 b) is well documented in the Tethys, Pacific and North Atlantic, but few studies have evaluated whether or not terrestrial records of OAE 1 b exist. In order to identify terrestrial records of the early Albian OAE 1 b and to infer possible driving mechanisms, an integrated multi-proxy study from the late Aptian to Albian in the Fuxin lacustrine basin was conducted, including thick, organic-rich black mudstones, total organic carbon(TOC), organic carbon isotopes(d13 Corg), mercury concentration(Hg) and results from pyrolysis analyses(S2, Tmaxand HI). Results show three distinct short-term negative d13 Corgexcursions corresponding with relatively high TOC values, which could be counterparts of the Kilian, Paquier and Leenhardt sub-events of the early Albian OAE1 b. Atmospheric CO2 concentration(p CO2) recovered from C3 plant d13 Corgcompositions indicates an increasing trend in Unit C during the early Albian, and there are three short-term increases of p CO2 corresponding to the three sub-events of OAE 1 b at this time interval. We infer that a trend of increasing p CO2 during the Kilian sub-event in the study area is closely related to volcanism. Continental weathering calculated using chemical weathering indices(CIA, WIP and MIA(O)) show an increasing trend during the OAE 1 b interval, likely resulting from warmer and more humid conditions. Mixed sources of terrestrial plants and lacustrine plankton demonstrated by pyrolysis analyses(HI vs. Tmaxand S2 vs. TOC), indicate a terrestrial contribution to the organic-rich sediments of the Kilian, Paquier and Leenhardt sub-events of OAE 1 b. We suggest that a CO2-forced greenhouse effect during the early Albian might have triggered the relatively warm and humid palaeoclimatic conditions, and intensified chemical weathering that combined to create high nutrient and organic matter levels that were flushed into lakes contributing to eutrophication and anoxia in lacustrine and in contemporaneous oceanic systems. 展开更多

Fracture-cave reservoirs in carbonate rocks are characterized by a large difference in fracture and cavity size, and a sharp variation in lithology and velocity, thereby resulting in complex diffraction responses. Some small-scale fractures and caves cause weak diffraction energy and would be obscured by the continuous reflection layer in the imaging section, thereby making them difficult to identify. This paper develops a diffraction wave imaging method in the dip domain, which can improve the resolution of small-scale diffractors in the imaging section.Common imaging gathers(CIGs)in the dip domain are extracted by Gaussian beam migration. In accordance with the geometric differences of the diffraction being quasilinear and the reflection being quasiparabolic in the dip-domain CIGs,we use slope analysis technique to filter waves and use Hanning window function to improve the diffraction wave separation level. The diffraction dip-domain CIGs are stacked horizontally to obtain diffraction imaging results.Wavefield separation analysis and numerical modeling results show that the slope analysis method, together with Hanning window filtering, can better suppress noise to obtain the diffraction dip-domain CIGs,thereby improving the clarity of the diffractors in the diffraction imaging section. 展开更多

Research into the contourite deposits in the Upper Meishan Formation of the southern Qiongdongnan Basin in South China Sea is weak;their characteristics, distribution and original geological conditions are not clear.Using geologic al and geophysical methods including seismic and drilling data, based on seismic reflection characteristics, geometrical configuration description, and wave impedance inversion, two types of contourite deposits are recognized.Contourite deposits have blurred boundaries between each deposit and disordered internal seismic reflections; They are mound-shaped only in transverse section, and banded in the longitudinal direction.TypeⅠcontourite deposits are conical, with mediumhigh amplitude,low-continuity,low-frequency mound-shaped seismic facies, and subparallel-chaotic reflections internally. These deposits are conical with sharp tops, the canal between mounds is V-shaped and deep. The western wing is gentle and the eastern wing is steep, with the slope toe mostly between 10°and 20°,and width height ratio about 1-2.TypeⅡcontourite deposits are flat, exhibiting medium-amplitude,medium-continuity,low-frequency mound-shaped seismic facies, with subparallel weak reflections internally.Their mounds are flat with gently arced tops, with shallow canals between. The slope toe is between 5°and 10°,with a width height ratio of about 2-5.The wave impedance value of these contourite deposits is 4.6 kg/m^(3)×m/s to 6.8 kg/m^(3)×m/s,about 5.8 kg/m^(3)×m/s on average, which is presumed to represent marlycalcareous clastic sediments. The contourite deposits mainly develop beneath the slope break at the margin of the faultcontrolled platform in the Southern Uplift zone of the basin. In plane view, they are distributed approaching a west-to-east direction, and in section, lie in low-lying areas near the faults at fault-controlled terraces of the Southern Uplift zone, with a paleo-current direction nearly west-to-east.The paleotectonic setting of the gentle monoclinic platform was favorable for the development of such contourite deposits. The intensification of the Mid-Miocene deepest bottom current gave rise to the contourite-forming currents around the Southern Uplift zone in the northern South China Sea,which flow from Hainan Island to the Xisha Trough in a nearly west-to-east direction leading to the contourite deposits developing in the late MidMiocene transgressive environment, with multiple slow sea-level fall cycles. 展开更多

The gas chromatographic peaks of cyclic and branched alkanes with relatively high resolution from nCl0 to nC25 were selected to establish a database of whole-oil gas chromatographic peak height ratio fingerprints. Reservoir fluid connectivity was identified by using clustering analysis. Six outcrop sections in Fenghe River,Northwestern China, were sampled and analyzed. This study aims to determine provenance, tectonic setting, and source-area paleoweathering of the sediments of Fenghe River in combination of lithofacies analysis and bulk-rock geochemical data. The lithofacies in the studied area were classified as gravel, sand, and fine-grained clastic lithofacies, reflecting generally channel fill deposits, channel bar deposits, and over-bank deposits, respectively. The Chemical Index of Alteration(CIA),Plagioclase Index of Alteration(PIA),and Chemical Index of Weathering(CIW)values ranged 50.10–62.29,50.13–66.35,56.52–71.12,respectively,together with element ratios such as Rb/Sr,K/Na,Rb/K,Th/K,Rb/Ti,and Cs/Ti indicate that the source area was under a low to moderate chemical weathering condition probably in cold and semi-arid climates. Moreover, plot of SiO_(2)vs.(Al_(2)O_(3)+K_(2)O+Na_(2)O)suggests that the sediments were deposited in a semi-arid climate.Plots of Cr/Th vs.Th/Sc,TiO_(2)vs.Zr,La/Yb vs.rare earth element(REE),and La-Th-Sc ternary diagrams, along with the lithology, indicate that the sediments in Fenghe River were mainly originated from felsic igneous rocks.Major elements-based discrimination diagrams and Th-Sc-Zr/10 and La-Th-Sc ternary diagram of the samples indicates that the source rocks of Fenghe River developed in a composite active continental margin and continental island arc field. 展开更多

Many mound-shaped reflectors with different features and shapes are evident in the Upper Member of the Meishan Formation from seismic profiles taken in the deep-water area of the Southern Qiongdongnan Basin.Based on the drilling,2 D and 3 D seismic data from the study area, descriptions of the seismic reflection characteristics as well as the geometric shape, wave impedance inversion, analogy and comparative analyses are carried out.Taken in conjunction with research on the paleo structure and paleo sedimentary background,we consider that the mound-shaped seismic reflectors are distributed in the Southern Slop belt and the Southern High-rise of the Qiongdongnan Basin, which can be subdivided into three types:reefs, contourite mounds and magmatic diapirs. The first type, reefs, includes patch reefs, platform marginal reefs and pinnacle reefs.Patch reefs present mound-shaped seismic facies with medium frequency and a moderately strong amplitude, being distributed at the uplift of the fault control platform on the Southern Slop belt. The platform marginal reefs have flat mound-shaped seismic facies with strong amplitude and medium frequency, developing at the margin of the carbonate platform in the Southern High-rise.The pinnacle reefs have mound-shaped seismic facies with strong amplitude and medium frequency and are developed on an isolated volcanic cone. The boundaries between individual reefs are clear on the seismic section, with reef ridge and reef ditch developed, the phenomenon of’front product’being visible within,two-way superelevation between wings is developed and they exist visibly as mounds in any viewed direction of the crosssection. They are slightly asymmetrical in the direction perpendicular to the paleodepth the reef body being steep near the deep-water side, while being gentle near the shallow water side. The wave impedance of a patch reef is about 7 kg/m^(3)×m/s,while the wave impedance of a platform marginal reef is about 7.5 kg/m^(3)×m/s.The second type-contourite moundsare mainly developed under the slope break of the southern slope fault control platform’s edge. They are subdivided into two types:conical and flat. The former has mound-shaped seismic facies with medium-strong amplitude and low frequency, the latter having mound-shaped seismic facies with medium amplitude and low frequency. The internal texture of the mounds is not clear on the seismic section, with the boundaries between contourite mounds being blurred. They are mound-shaped only in cross-section,being banded in the extending direction. The upper surface of a single contourite mound is relatively gentle near the deep-water side, while being steep near the shallow water area. The wave impedance of contourite mounds is about 5.8 kg/m^(3)×m/s,which is speculated to represent a marly to calcareous clastic deposit. The third type is the magmatic diapir, which has’roots’.They have a dome-shaped upper boundary, are bottomless, with a chaotic interior. They penetrated multiple formations, opening towards the base. There are two major accumulation assemblages of reefs, one is the platform margin reef accumulation assemblage with distant source rocks and long-distance migration through an unconformity surface in the Southern High-rise,the other is the patch reef accumulation assemblage with twin sources and short distance migration through faults in the Southern Slop belt near the Central Depression zone. The latter is the main exploration targets at present. There are contourite mound accumulation assemblages with nearby source rocks and short distance vertical migration through faults, which are potentially important targets. The magmatic diapirs pierce the overlying strata and form good hydrocarbon traps and migration pathways, thus representing potential prospecting targets. 展开更多

Tight sandstone, with severe diagenesis and complex pore structure, differs greatly from conventional sandstone in terms of rock electrical parameters. In subsurface rock electrical experiments, various electrical parameters are confounded and can only be analyzed qualitatively. The lack of quantitative analysis for each individual electrical parameter presents a challenge for the evaluation of oil and gas saturation in tight sandstone.Based on the 2D pore-throat model and the features of pore structure in the tight sandstone of the Penglaizhen and Shaximiao Formations in the upper and middle Jurassic of the Western Sichuan Depression, this paper presents 3D micro pore-throat models for three types of tight sandstone. It proposes a finite element-based rock electrical simulation method to analyze the influence of pore structure parameters, such as throat radius and throat tortuosity,on electrical parameters such as resistivity, formation factor, and cementation index quantitatively. The research revealed the following results:(1)Throats of tight sandstone usually have lamellar or curved lamellar shapes that are slender and narrow. The lamellar throat used in the proposed porethroat model is more consistent with the features of tight sandstone than the tubular throat used in the original model.(2)The throat determines the conductivity of tight sandstone. The throat parallel to the electric potential has the greatest influence on conductivity, and the throat perpendicular to the potential has the least influence.(3)In tight sandstone grades I to III,as the porosity decreases, the formation factor increases and the cementation index decreases.(4)The results of the rock electrical simulation are consistent with the results of the rock electrical experiment, which indicates that the proposed rock electrical simulation method of tight sandstone is effective and accurate. 展开更多

In order to study the hydrocarbon-generating potential of Carboniferous-Permian coal shale in Jiyang Depression, geochemistry, petroleum geology and coal geology were applied to study the residual strata distribution of Carboniferous-Permian in Jiyang Depression, organic matter abundance, organic matter types and organic matter maturity of mudstone. The results show that the thickness of the Carboniferous-Permian residual strata in Jiyang Depression is generally 200-800 m,with a maximum thickness of 900 m;the organic matter abundance of coal-bearing shale is good, and it is type III kerogen, which is conducive to gas generation, and the maturity of organic matter reaches a mature-higher maturity stage;the hydrocarbon generation potential of Benxi Formation and Taiyuan Formation is better;Medium to good hydrocarbon source rocks is able to be found in every sag of Shanxi Formation hydrocarbon source rocks, but the scope is limited, and the overall evaluation is still medium.Generally speaking, the Permo-Carboniferous coal-bearing shale in Jiyang Depression has certain shale gas exploration potential. 展开更多
