Based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, it is believed that the brain and intestine are closely connected with the meridians, the spirit and the physiology and pathology. Traditional Chinese medicine can effectively inhibit the progression of FD by influencing brain-gut peptide (BGP) through brain-gut axis (BGA), thereby promoting gastrointestinal peristalsis, accelerating gastric emptying, reducing visceral hypersensitivity, and regulating intestinal flora. The disturbance of brain-gut peptide level caused by brain-gut axis disorder is one of the important features of FD. Therefore, this article reviews the treatment of FD by regulating the cerebro-intestinal axis of traditional Chinese medicine, in order to provide new strategies and ideas for clinical treatment.展开更多

The onset of PND is associated with a variety of factors including women’s physiology, psychology, economics, and societal influences, but the pathogenesis remains incompletely understood. Early diagnosis, intervention and treatment are crucial in preventing the worsening of depression, reducing the suicide rate among perinatal women, and mitigating adverse pregnancy outcomes. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has exhibited definitive efficacy and advantages in treating PND, which overcomes the adverse reactions and toxic effects of Western medicine and presents promising application prospects. This article presents a comprehensive review of the risk factors for PND and the advancements in TCM treatment, to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and clinical treatment of PND.展开更多
