Objective To study a new approach of internal fixaton using minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis(MIPPO)in treating tibial fractures in grassroot hospital.Methods A retrospective analysis was done on 12...Objective To study a new approach of internal fixaton using minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis(MIPPO)in treating tibial fractures in grassroot hospital.Methods A retrospective analysis was done on 12 cases with tibial fractures treated with the technique of MIPPO from February 2004 to October 2004.Result All patients were followed up from 9-12 months.The average operative time was 1.2 hours.The average hospitalization was 12days.The average clinical healing time of the fracture was 14.2 weeks.There were earlier movements in the minimally invasive plate fixation patients than the tradtional open method plate fixation patients.No non-union or delayed union as well as wound infection or internal fixation failure happened.Conclusion MIPPO provides biological fixation with better healing and lower complication rate in grassroot hospital.展开更多
