Demineralized dentin matrix (DDM) is prepared from dentin after grinding, demineralization, steri-lization, etc. It has good osteoinductive, osteoconductive, biocompatibility, and is a promising bone graft material. DDM is not only a bone graft material, but also a suitable carrier for recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2). DDM has good affinity with rhBMP-2 and can slowly release rhBMP-2. In addition, exogenous rhBMP-2 and endogenous BMP in DDM have syner-gistic effects, which can produce more new bones.
