Despite the great progress achieved in orthopaedic biomaterial in the past several decades,the perfusion and ingrowth of the collagen osteoblast into the prosthetic bioengineering materials remains a problem that awai...Despite the great progress achieved in orthopaedic biomaterial in the past several decades,the perfusion and ingrowth of the collagen osteoblast into the prosthetic bioengineering materials remains a problem that awaits further investigation.It has been shown that there is a close correlation between the preparation,hence the geometric and biophysico-mechanical properties of the prosthetic biomaterial(implants)and their fixation to the bone host.In this review,an attempt was made to summarize miscellaneous preparation methods in an effort to correlate the preparation arts and the bio-physical-mechanical properties of the implanted materials.The culture method of the collagen osteoblast was also introduced.It had been demonstrated that the pore size,porosity and interconnectivity determine bone and tissue ingrowth into porous implants.3D micro-CT images and structural analyses indicated that the process of perfusion and ingrowth of the collagen osteoblast into the prosthetic bioengineering material had been practically and effectively observed,and the observed histomorphometrical results implied that such a bio-match process could be controlled in a smooth and stepwise way.In a word titanium based prosthetic bio-engineering material holds promise to be an bioengineering material in orthopaedic therapy.展开更多
