The polychaetes and bivalves constitute the principal preys of the platoes in accordance with several common indices of preys. The upper limit of the shell thickness of the consumed bivalves rises as the predatory fish grows. The correspondence analysis of the intraspecific trophic relation of the platoes indicates that the rigidity and the vulnerability of essential preys, are closely associated with the predatory fish length. As the plaices grow with the increase of the hardness of their jaws, the difference of the feeding habits among the diverse-sized predatory fish is possibly due to their different feeding capacities. In the present paper, we also show that certain synthetic indices of the fish feeding habits are not always available.展开更多
